@majere613 Two different series. Uncharted 3 uses it's cinematics and gameplay to great effect to tell it's story. The shift for RE has driven it away from what it once was, a scary, horrific game of survival. Now, it's simply trying to mimic other TPS games through gameplay, while throwing in a lot of QTE's and cutscenes, the amount of which don't help to improve the game, but rather hinder it instead. The point being, one series uses these things to enhance the game, while the other uses these to debilitate it.

@SFamicom Not the same as RE6, where breaking free from zombies is a QTE itself. I think the main complaint is the level of QTE's. In their quest to become more cinematic and less of a traditional game, Capcom overloaded the game with QTE's and cinemas, as they probably figure that the West enjoys all that kind of stuff. What they don't realize is that they alienate their fanbase by so drastically changing the game, and not in ways that are positive, that they drive fans away. Apparently Capcom never heard the phrase "if it's not broken, don't fix it".

@pinkfloydblue @BlackHalls I don't even think it's really a mass market appeal, it's a Western appeal. They are trying to appeal to the West because of the massive successes of games like Modern Warfare. That and the fall of survival horror drove them to producing games like RE4-6, which are so heavily reliant on action. The thing Capcom doesn't realize is that this is not how people want their RE. Sadly, this game will probably still sell well and they won't get the message.

That is actually very disappointing. I was even all ready to go get this game. Now, I think I will be holding off. There are a lot of games coming out this month and I would rather not spend my money on a game that is this critically panned. I've seen a few reviews that have given it decent scores, but for the most part, it looks like this is just one, giant misstep for RE. This is what we get for Capcom trying to appeal more to the west by throwing in a bunch of western ideas, like shooter elements ala Call of Duty. I was truly hoping this would bring back some of that old RE, now I am just truly disappointed.

@flammable_zeus @buccomatic I don't know if it necessarily means the base is finished, just that the company has it ready for market. Whether or not there are any bugs or not in the final product that were missed will be up to us to find.

@kennythomas26 @DSkinMasque There is actually a bit of Half Life 2 in the design. The designer of City 17 from HL2 was brought in for the design team of Dishonored and you can see some of that in there.

@DSkinMasque I don't know exactly what makes this a poor man's bioshock, but this game seems to go in quite a different direction. This is less Bioshock and more Deus Ex meets Half Life 2. Why? The developers have stated clearly that the game contains the spirit of Deus Ex, while using the artistic director of Half Life 2. And this game DOES look pretty damn awesome.

Cannot wait for this game. First RE6, then this the week after. I'm going to have my hands full in October. Hope I can get through all these by the time AC3 comes out.
