@Barighm: By approachability, I believe they mean in terms of the audience. This, like most FROM Software games, has a very specific audience, while most other people won't be playing.
As great as this may have been designed, between the difficulty and the no map markers, this sounds like a lot of work. I honestly wish these were more accessible, because they sound like really good games, but the punishment involved in playing them doesn't sound fun. Really a shame.
At first, my thoughts were similar. Controls sucked. It was too hard to play. Too many options. As I played though, I found what worked for me and got used to the controls. I now do fairly well at the game, typically coming in top 3 whenever I play and mostly using melee combat, which seems to work pretty well. All of that is rather ironic considering I suck at pretty much every other BR I play and this is the only one I've actually stuck with.
@chriss_m: I've done quite well with the mobile controllers. Was a struggle at first, but once I got the hang of it, I've now been able to do well in nearly every game I join.
I'm going into this as something separate from the games. You have to. There's no point expecting a perfect adaptation of something that is already a perfection adaptation of the genre in video game form. Nor can I go in expecting these characters to inhabit who we know from the games. Watching this at all means trying to enjoy it for what it is and not what it should be. Hopefully, it's at least entertaining.
@Newsboy: @Newsboy: Some of that stuff I chalk up to design flaws, like killing people in front of cops. I'm talking about the glaring bugs, like flying cars, falling through the map, etc. I was okay with the game on PC when it came out, but the console launches were a mess, so I'll see what word of mouth says for a little while before I purchase it.
