@hawtpickle: I find that reviews tend to set my expectations. This is a film I am massively anticipating, the original being one of my favorite of all time. If it's good, great, I get exactly what I want. If it's not, with what reviews tell me, I now know what I am getting in terms of quality. I can go into this film knowing that I may not get everything I want, but I'll still get a movie I will probably like. I can expect not to be disappointed.

I don't get the hate for this game. It's a LOT of fun if you allow it to be. I had a blast exploring the island, finding all the secrets I could, and utilizing the multitude of gameplay options given. I absolutely love this kind of game design and wish more games would utilize it, giving as much freedom to the player as possible to carve out the story as they want and play the way they want to play most. The story is also pretty great in the way it deals with the timeloop and how you can use elements of that story to go through the game and complete it. I can't think of another game I had as much pure fun with as this. There were a number of games I enjoyed this year, but this was the one that I clearly remember having the most fun with.

@chaosemerald: Yes, but that's no fun. As you say, it makes the game dull. Trying to play stealthily is far more fulfilling. There's a lot to discover and a lot of fun to be had with all the powers available and combining those with the weapons you get. If all you want to do is beat the game, sure, but most of the fun comes from challenging yourself to all you can do within the game.

@P00DGE: With all the history and mythology that predates the story of the first game, they could easily come up with a story revolving around just the first game.

@P00DGE: It's not much fun and it's not much better than Anderson's movie. The references don't make up for the bad acting, lack of action, poor writing, and being over stuffed.

@chriss_m: That's really not even a problem in the movie. You can still buy that Leon and Jill are their characters, even when they don't look like them. The problem is more in their personality. They turn Leon into a joke here and Jill is barely developed.

Yeah, not a very good movie as you might expect. They tried to do way too much and focusing on two games instead of one was to it's detriment. It would have been a lot better if they'd focused on just one of the games. Probably still would have sucked, but maybe not as much. That said, fans of the games will probably find the references enjoyable.

I was wondering what happened to it. I got it on the 1st and was waiting to do the misison, went to go play it yesterday and it was gone. Thought it was strange. Hopefully it gets finished and put back into the game soon.

7 sounds about right. It's not spectacular, but it's one of the few co-op games currently on console that's just fun to play. Me and my buddies had a blast with the beta and the actual release is as fun, but gives us a lot more. I'm pretty happy with what we got, though I will agree the difficulty is a little weird. The amount of specials is kind of silly and the game seems to punch a little above the difficulty selected.

I thought it only half worked. It's an interesting idea to explore, especially since it's not one that is often explored in slasher films, it also creates a lot of one note characters. Tommy here is pretty flat, to the point that he repeats the same lines throughout the film. I appreciate what Green wanted to do, I just don't think it works as well as he was hoping.
