@Gomtor: I tried playing through it and gave up about 5-6 hours in. It's boring. If there's good stuff to get to eventually, it wasn't worth continuing. Everything about the game is mediocre, from the story and characters to the combat and motorcycle riding. I'd say a 5 was pretty spot on.

@lorddaggeroff: The first Rage was a boring turd that was Borderlands light. There was no point to it and it didn't do enough different to make it much fun. It was yet another post-apocalyptic clone with a skeleton of a story and 0 character development. I'm actually surprised it got a sequel because I don't even remember it being that well received.

Meh, pretty boring month. I'll try out Rage 2 if reviews are good, but if that's the one that's most appealing, I guess its going to be a pretty dull month for gaming.

@Sound_Demon: After nearly an entire series of some of the darkest storytelling on television, there's plenty of room for fan service. Seeing heroes survive the worst event in the history of the show or seeing bad/evil characters get what we all know they deserve is not terrible storytelling. We spent 5-6 seasons watching characters we love getting betrayed, destroyed, killed, and all other manner of terrible things happen. We watched evil/bad character triumph. I welcomed some of these characters getting their rewards for their horrible actions and I welcome our heroes triumphing in the face of grave danger. Everyone on the show is still vulnerable. No one knows who will survive to the end of the season. Just because most survived the battle of Winterfell doesn't make them safe. And we still have competing ideals. There is division even among those in Winterfell. The show has slowly chiseled away at those disparate beliefs and ideals to unite people into smaller fronts fighting against the same forces. That's been clear for many seasons. It was always going to end up with just a handful of forces against one another and it's gotten to that point.

@GUNpoint_: They'd planned for Arya to kill the Night King for a while. They even explain that they didn't think it made sense for Jon to do it. Watch the behind the scenes video. They explain everything there.

@Barighm: How does that not make sense? You kill and kill and kill, and they don't stop coming for you. What's the point in continuing to try and kill them? She acted in any natural way that people should act, even when they're killing machines. Her decision to avoid continually killing them was smart and one based on survival.

@Mogan: They can't. People will always end up disappointed. It makes it hard for people that overthink these things to just enjoy them as they happen.

Did we watch the same episode? I get that GoT has a history of destroying people we care about, upending expectations, and being really dark thematically, but we past that point in season 6. I expected this to be a cathartic episode where our heroes faced terrible odds and still triumphed. In fact, because of those expectations, I was on edge the entire time because of the possibility that some might not make it. I think expecting GoT to do really terrible things to people we love is part of the problem. You've had 5 and a half seasons of the show, based on the books, do what the books did. But the show hasn't been like that for a while. Maybe it's because I'm not a hardcore fan or because I am satisfied with fan service, but I found it to be a pretty incredible episode. Lots of great moments technically. And I had zero problems with how dark it was, I could see everything just fine, besides the chaotic editing, which was appropriate given it was war.

Whatever your expectations were, that's on you. The show never set you up to expect main characters to die, you expected that because the show has brought out this in you. There was nothing before this that said anyone was going to definitively die. You assumed that would happen. And many times the episode nearly confirmed it. No one was safe. I'm actually pretty relieved most characters didn't die. The white walker threat was certainly THE threat, but it's not the only threat, and it's certainly not the one that matters. Cersei has been the villain the entire show and if there's anything that deserves more attention, and all of our heroes alive and banded together, it's her. We lost several characters still to the white walkers, but there's still a lot of major story and battle to settle. So before complaining about not losing anyone, let's see how many fall to Cersei. Maybe your expectations set you up to hate this episode, but that's the problem with expectations, they set you up to possibly be disappointed. I wasn't. I loved the episode, but then I really had no expectations whatsoever. I just enjoyed what I was watching.

I'm interested, but I want to see more original content than the old stuff. I'm not interested in watching old Disney and Fox stuff. They should really have more content at release. Disney has hundreds of movies and shows over the course of decades that they could throw on this, and that's not even mentioning all the Fox content they just got. This seems paltry in comparison to what they have available, even if the price is decent. If the price stays at $7/mo., I'll probably sign up once they have more original content.

Not surprised. This game didn't look all that great from the point it was announced. Having to run from hordes of zombies and riding a motorcycle around does not a great game make. Luckily, I'm only renting it, so it's not that big a deal and I will still be able to play it. If it really does suck that much, I can always go back to playing Division 2.
