@olddadgamer: You can condense long games into short stories that work. Most long games have lots of extraneous story material or plot points that could easily be edited out. In the case of games without a story, if you have a good enough writer, they can easily add depth, story and character to something that lacks it. On the same token, a lot of novels that have tons of extra content become great movies. LOTR is a good example. The problem with most movies adapted from games is the focus is completely off or the material is treated poorly instead of just focusing on making a good movie, the filmmakers focus on trying to tie the movie to the game as much as possible. I think the Castlevania series succeeds in large part because it focuses on fleshing out it's characters and focusing on story, and that's from a game that barely has one.

@olddadgamer: I think they'll get better. For decades, comic book adaptations sucked, now they're critically acclaimed, high grossing crowd pleasers. Castlevania worked as, essentially, a 2 hour movie for the first season. They'll get there eventually, it's just going to take time.

Can't wait for this, it looks great! But screw Tyrant, it's those lickers that are going to be a nightmare to deal with. Hate those things.

My problem with this franchise is just how lazy the developers are at making this series legitimate. Sure, it's fun for a while to swing around and cause mayhem and destruction, but how hard is it to really give it all meaning? Even Far Cry, for all it's destruction, at least tries to do something with it's story and characters. How this series got to 4 games, I have no idea. It would be one thing if they were actually doing something to advance it, but they're basically COD'ing it at this point. Even Assassin's Creed, for all it's repetition and mediocrity, is still trying to do new things.

Why do they keep pushing Screwball? Worst part of the game IMO. I get that they're trying to create a villain that fits into the modern age of social media, youtube sensationalism, and Millenial values, but my God, is Screwball awful. Annoying and her missions aren't even much fun to play. They really should have stuck to the classics instead of trying to craft their own, original villains.

Disco Elysium looks to be right up my alley. Love a good alter sci-fi detective story.

Looking forward to this one. I enjoyed the 2016 soft reboot and this should be fun. Hopefully it feels like a bigger game, as the first one seemed somewhat short to me, but it should be enjoyable still.

@batusai4ever: But that's the nature of the franchise. You go from location to location to kill your target.

@Bread_or_Decide: No, really guy, Samus has always been female. This isn't anything new OR political OR SJW. It's just a fact. Samus has always been female since the original game. Sorry you have a problem with that.
