I checked out of this article when it started talking about NYPD's history. I am not one to start blabbing on about things being "too woke", but this is a comic book adaptation. I get that some parts of it are meant to reflect our own reality, but I can do without every single thing being about our own world. At the end of the day, it's still just a Spider-Man story. The NYPD of his world is not the NYPD of our world. Spider-Man has ALWAYS helped the cops, albeit as a vigilante, but he is still a crime fighter. Suddenly trying to say "Well, Spider-Man shouldn't do that because the real world NYPD has a history of abusing their power" is silly and shoe horns in issues that don't need to be there. Just let it be a Spider-Man story in a comic book world.
The demo was a lot of fun so I am looking forward to playing it. I do have some nitpicks, like how picky some of the platforming is, but that seems to be a very common, modern trend. It's pretty frustrating to have a game intentionally designed so that your jumping abilities cause you to miss a platform by a millimeter on one side or the other. How hard is it to design it so that if you do a wall jump, or wall jump + dash, you land on the platform you're trying to get to? That's a minor critique though.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Why are people still giving money to this? The game has been a work in progress for how long now? People need to stop supporting this BS.
The Bear is my pick. Love the second season as much as the first and, as far as I am concerned, it's the best show on TV rn. I also love the description for the I Think You Should Leave. Continues to be one of the funniest shows on Netflix and I am continually showing people I know skits from it.
@mooglestar: Idk, the family dinner episode was pretty phenomenal. Deeply uncomfortable and anxiety inducing, but it was a pretty great episode. The season was different, but I got a lot out of it that I got from the first season.
miHoYo has been very impressive with their releases. A string of very successful, popular games that are legit good is rare for mobile, and even more so when it comes to gacha. Heck, they've created a whole new subgenre of mobile games with Genshin, of which you can find a whole bunch of copycats trying to cash in on the formula.
@bdrtfm: Regardless of all that, if it releases on both Xbox and PC, it is not exclusive. Exclusive suggests you MUST own a single system to play. If you can play an Xbox game on PC, it's not an Xbox exclusive.
Everyone talking about it being a horrible year and I have no idea wth they mean . It was a great year. I used the hell out of my PS5 this year. I've stopped caring about whether or not the console gets a bunch of exclusives. It's my preferred console and the other consoles never have exclusives I'm interested in. But BG3, FFXIV, and SM2 were probably the biggest games for me in 2023, so I'm pretty happy with what we got.
