@scottyp360: I agree completely. It also might have given them a chance to develop a better story with a better villain. Because Avengers cut out so much detail and exposition that we already knew, it could focus on the relationship between the characters. In 2 hours, JL had to introduce us to these characters, explain backstory, introduce a new villain, AND get the JL together to fight him. And the movie didn't really successfully do any of that.
@streamline: Maybe. With more development of Aquaman and Cyborg, it could probably be more enjoyable. But an extended cut wouldn't change the boring villain, which is one of the main issues. But it could help it, yes.
@bat725: It's actually a lot more like Avengers, but not as entertaining. The plot is fairly similar, but Steppenwolfe is as boring a villain as it gets. It's definitely not as good as Thor Ragnarok. Aquaman and Cyborg are underdeveloped and there are a number of scenes that the film could have done without, using the time to tell us more about Cyborg and Aquaman instead. Thor Ragnarok was at least interesting in doing something different and gave it's new characters plenty of background story for us to understand them. Even the villain had a decent back story for us to understand her. Cyborg, here, gets like 2 scenes where we learn about why he's Cyborg. Aquaman gets one and all we have are a bunch of questions about all the stuff he said and we learn nothing about him. And he barely gets to use any of the awesome powers he's supposed to have. All he does is go around stabbing things with his trident. It's lame. Most of the movie is a lot of decent to good stuff that should be better. My feeling, anyway, is that the film had potential to be so much more than it is and I feel let down by it underachieving.
Eh, found it about the same as BvS. Lame plot and villain. All the characters were great, but Cyborg and Aquaman were underdeveloped. The movie could have traded some of the useless BS for more of Aquaman and Cyborg's story, especially Aquaman. Boy did he get the short end of the stick here. All those cool powers and he hardly gets to use them. Film definitely did not live up to it's legacy. Could have been so much better.
@timmyp1982: Contra's not too bad. Ninja Gaiden and Battletoads, however, are two of the hardest games ever. Not just about memorization, but about quick reflexes.
Meh. I'll never understand why people are satisfied with this alone. What's so hard about crafting a genuine, worthwhile single player experience? Why do the big developers/producers seem so opposed to an experience that feels moving over something was superfluous as an arena shooters like this? So far, this sounds as boring as the first Battlefront.
Of course they're not dead. Single player games are the only way to deliver an effective story and great characters. You can argue that Overwatch has terrific characters all you want, but it's still not going to give you the same kind of narrative experience as, say, Zelda or Horizon Zero Dawn. There are also gameplay experiences that are only suited to single player, or possibly co-op. What a boring industry it would be to have nothing but MP games where all anyone plays are arena shooters, MOBAs, and loot hunters.
6 hours? No ty. Don't care about the other modes enough to take interest. Why is it that a solid single player campaign isn't enough? It worked for Wolfenstein: New Collosus, which is one of the best FPSs I've played in years. I'll wait until Acitvision and Sledgehammer genuinely give a damn about the single player experience.
