Gee I don't know maybe because it was just an allegation and no empirical evidence has surfaced that proves that he actually committed statutory rape.

Working as intended

so why not extradite him and let a trial decide? I'm sure you have been informed as to the prosecutions entire case that you know all the evidence?

There is no reason to extradite a person who might be guilty of a crime. Prove it first then we'll talk.

If there was sufficient evidence to prove beyond any reasonable doubt then it would have been released on the press to pressure switzerland to extradite polanski. Since this is not the case, we can safely assume that the police have got nothing.

If the police have got nothing then a trial will be nothing more than a time inconvenience for Polanski if it even goes to trial. Now he can never set foot in America again. Don't you think he would just take the trial if he knew he wasn't guilty and they had no evidence?

The article doesn't even give me the reason why Switzerland decided this. :?

And now that I do know, I can say that it isn't Switzerland's fault because American authorities couldn't sort out the correct paperwork.

care to clarify and/or link?

Do you think Switzerland is being dumb for protecting him? I think it is a shame that they would shield analleged child rapist from the American justice system.

I suspect it's because they don't think the US is in accordance with universal human rights.Osaka-06
Polanski wasn't to worried about that young girls human rights from my understanding... It wouldn't surprise me, though, if they use that as an excuse, but do you really think some wheels weren't greased in the background somewhere?

That sucks man. I'd say your only option is to put all the chips on the table and let her decide if she is interested in pursuing you as a romantic interest.

Best answer so far.

Nah...she already decided. He's just not accepting...

Well, she sent him an e-mail saying they should end it "before this gets worse" (i think from my memory anyway). This may mean she is just afraid of getting involved because of the ping pong nature of their relationship thus far. If he took a step to show that he is seriously interested in her it may sway her opinion.

I buy used usually. The publisher might not be getting the money from it, but they are also not the ones who took the risk by buying back the used game.

long distance relationships are terrible. life is gonna get much harder than this. just find a girl who lives close. i know a guy who lost his wife and kids in a car accident. you're basically sobbing over a girl you've never seen in person.

I don't think it is nice to throw terrible tragedies into people's faces to make them feel bad for how they feel. He may not have experienced a terrible tragedy like that, but that doesn't change the fact that he is still dealing with these emotions.
