We have some bad news for Xbox 360 owners now, as Microsoft and Epic Games have confirmed our worst fears and have delayed the release of exclusive title Gears of War 3 until later on in 2011.
Originally expected on April 8th 2011, Microsoft has now stated that the game will be available 'Fall 2010′. So from a solid release date, it has now turned into a 5 month minimum wait for the game.
Epic has been quick to issue a statement on the delay, and when they talked to VG247 about it, they said it was a decision based purely on business, and nothing to do with the development side.
Here is a portion of their statement: "I know fans are going to be disappointed with the new release date, but rest assured that this is a business decision between partners, and not a quality issue,"
They added that the delay will now give the team more time to 'polish the game', and mentioned that gamers will be able to see a preview of the multiplayer versus mode next week at a special event at Epic HQ.
Are you disappointed that the game won't be available until the holiday period next year, or does it not really matter to you. It seems a very common thing now for developers to delay their big titles, so it shouldn't be that much of a shock to the system – just ask Square-Enix fans.
Giveme your reaction on the delay.
So what do you guys think of the new achievement list?
The full list follows:
It's not hard being a gamer these days. There are way too many games to keep up with and the prices on these things surely don't help. No one ever says thank you these days for spending your hard earned allowance or for convincing the wife that your anniversary isn't as important as attending a midnight release.
Well Microsoft is attempting to at least say thank you in a way that any gamer can identify with…more Microsoft Points…800 Microsoft Points to be exact! But (and you know there's always a but) you have to spend 2400 Microsoft Points in October to get that thank you gift. It's Microsoft's little way of saying thanks for spending more money.
The 2400 points can be spent on XBLA titles and/or game add-ons. Spend it on whatever title or game add-on you want as long as it totals 2400. Easy enough eh? You can buy Case Zero, Hyrophobia and the New Robot Revolution DLC and be done.
The Details
Purchase at least 2400 Microsoft Points worth of Xbox LIVE Arcade and/or Game add-on content between 12:01 A.M. Eastern Standard Time (EST) October 1 and 11:59 pm EST October 31, 2010 and receive 800 Microsoft Points added automatically to your membership. Limit one gift per person. The free points will be deposited automatically into your Xbox LIVE account after the end of the promotion period. Please allow four weeks for delivery, on or around November 30, 2010.
Offer available Worldwide in all Xbox LIVE countries, excluding Japan, Italy, and France, while supplies last, is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and cannot be combined with any other offer. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
You can read all the rules and details about the thank you gift right here.

Lucasarts revealed via Facebook that Guybrush will be an unlockable skin for playable character Starkiller in the upcoming Force Unleashed II. There is no word on exactly what it will take to get Guybrush to trade in his cutlass for a lightsaber, but I think we can all agree that the simple premise alone is pretty darn rockin'.
In case anyone is scratching their heads in confusion, Lucasarts' legendary adventure game studio was the birthplace of many game series including Monkey Island. So Guybrush and the Jedi have always been distant brethren of a sort – now it's just a bit more official.
Unfortunately, "You fight like a nerf herder" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
