I dunno, the endings to ME3 sucked, of course. And I certainly won't forget the disappointment I felt anytime soon. But regardless, the games were awesome, the story was amazing, and I loved every minute of them up to the end. Hell, even the fan theories surrounding the games terrible ending about indoctrination and such were a hoot to follow. And in my head, I always assumed the choices and ending in ME3 were limited to that galaxy alone, and not the entire universe. Purely my own opinion, but it helps me cope with the terrible ending, and gives me hope to enjoy the new games as much as I enjoyed the old one.

@snake8877: Exactly what I said. This looks like a great game, but it isn't RE. Its Amnesia or Outlast or PT. Resident Evil was always about survival horror, but also about picking your battles when you chose to fight. Now, you just sneak around and run and hide when you get spotted? Not exactly RE's playstyle. Plus the first person view isn't exactly mainstream RE as well.

Uhh was that a first wave rogue agent heavy at the end? Looked pretty sexy.

If this was PT, I would be super excited. But because it is RE, not too happy. I don't want RE to become PT and Amnesia and Outlast and stuff. Can't really say this returns to the "roots" of RE when the original games included fighting and guns and character interactions and such. This just seems like it is a secluded jump scare game that has no "RE" feel to it at all. Obviously this is way too early to judge or tell how the game is gonna turn out, but so far it just doesn't give off an RE vibe. I am sure the game will be great and awesome and scary, just don't know if it is a good fit in the RE series. Time will tell. Does look creepy though, Ill give the major kudos for that.

Kind of sad so far.....I want Resident Evil, not PT or Amnesia or something. Old RE was about survival, later RE's were more actiony and shooter, but they all had guns and zombies and such. This just looks like its own spinoff. Definitely didn't see RE7 being this. It is too early to judge, but this intro sure didn't keep my hopes up. Sad panda.

@equanox214: But is that what the gaming industry has come to? Using race as a selling tool and a way of standing out? Race shouldn't matter in this day and age. I understand and agree with you completely that they are probably using his race as a factor in the characters development and storyline. But going out of their way to emphasise it seems like they are trying to play into racial stereotypes in order to sell a story. I don't think race should ever be used as a selling point. Sell the character for the kind of person he is that makes him intriguing, not his race.

@HenrySix: Lol I didn't think twice about it when I saw the screens and saw he was black. Didn't care. It only bothered me that they felt the NEED to emphasise it, like it should even matter what race he is.

@magemaximus: Do they make white characters and explicitly tell you they are white? Didn't think so. There is no need for needlessly pointing out the race of a character unless you are TRYING to draw attention to that specific factor for a purpose.

I don't find Widowmaker all that frustrating. She can be easily flanked, and easily killed. Every hero has a counter hero. Just depends on if someone is willing to play that hero or not. There are plenty of other heroes I would want to nerf ahead of her.

"an African-American from across the Bay in Oakland." I personally don't care he is black. It just bugs me that they feel the need to specifically point that out, like they think it SHOULD make any difference. Games would never specifically point out if a protagonist is white, so why should they go out of their way to point out he ISN'T white? If he was white, it would just say "a man from across the Bay in Oakland."
