Many of the classics I enjoyed just wouldn't run on mondern hardware anymore. Games I played as a kid, trying to play them again as an adult proved difficult, if you could even find them anymore to begin with. Even some of the really old games that Steam sells, they would just have massive amounts of issues. Those DOS games and other older games just weren't designed to run on the hardware we have now, at least without an emulator.

And after 30+ years, even while still having my original PS1, SNES, NES, Genesis, and such, they just don't really work anymore. Hardware breaks over time. That is just the sad reality of it. Especially the PS1, which the disks are just scratched up to hell after years and years of use.

Resident Evil 2 Remake was just about impossible to play for me back when it had Denuvo. I didn't want to believe it was that software, because I was one of those people who didn't think Denuvo was the devil, unlike many other players. But once I got RE2 Remake, my game would run fine for a few minutes at a time, then completely lock up for about 30 seconds, then resume running fine again, as if nothing had happened.

I thought maybe it was a hardware issue, but every attempt to fix it didn't work. No hardware was being taxed, it was not overheating, etc. It was only once I had a workaround and started playing offline, did my game run without a hitch, because Denuvo was no longer running a system check every few minutes. After Capcom pulled Denuvo off the game permenantly, I was able to play it online again, with absolutely zero issues like I had previously.

Coincidence? It is entirely possible. But many other people on Steam had the exact same issue, and them they were all resolved by doing the same thing, or resolved when Denuvo was pulled off the game. So, who knows?

Helltide chests are about the ONLY thing so far that I have gotten uniques from. Outside of a couple from 40+ nightmare dungeons.

Bad launches don't doom games unless the devs abandon it after a bad launch. Devs that actually take time to work on improving the game, listen to player feedback, and continue to fix the game, those are the games that usually end up redeeming themselves.

Unfortunately, many devs will just abandon a game if it flops at launch. I give kudos to those devs who stick by their games, and labor to improve upon them.

So sounds fairly similar to D3. New mechanics, items, etc per season. However, this one will add more story content with each season, from the sounds of it, similar to Destiny 2. Which will be nice, because you will get to get some depth to the game lore while playing new seasonal characters, getting new gear, and tinkering with new mechanics each season.

And instead of just doing tedious challenges to get Haedrigs Gifts and seasonal cosmetics, you now have the battle pass that progresses as you play and do everything.

Starting a new character is nothing new. D2 ladders, D3 Seasons, and PoE Seasons did it every time. Although I can see how some would be irked that you would be forced to start a new character only like a month after launch, if you want to experience the seasonal content. But most Diablo veterans knew this was coming.

Too many streaming services nowadays, many people have to pick and choose a few at a time. Netflix has been pulling some strange moves lately, and this is the latest one. I think THEY think people will spend the extra to keep people on their account. But with multiple subscription price raises the past couple years, on top of the lackluster content, I think they are gonna see a decent decline in subscriptions.

I don't think it is going to work out like they imagine.

Doesn't seem too confusing to me. Lui Kang basically hit the reset button, and made a new universe, because the original one had become FUBAR. I think the devs realized the story had kind of reached its end, with so many characters dead and the worlds being in pieces. So they are "rebooting" it in a new universe where Lui Kang has changed a few things in order to try and make a more peaceful existence. Obviously this doesn't work, and it is gonna go bad again.

Simply put, it is a rebooted series in a new universe where the story and characters will be a bit different due to it being Lui Kangs "Altered Universe," rather than the original timeline where everything was destroyed.

Welp, there goes my excitement for the game. I was happy with it being a PvE co-op looter experience. Not another PvPvE game. Ugh.

Gonna guess its probably a bit of a reveal of their work so far on their big Star Wars game.
