@probable: I am actually liking it quite a bit. It has enough of the old game in it to give that nostalgic feeling, but it is all under a new coat of paint, with some new twists and turns in it to keep it fresh and interesting. Plus if you played the original, you will find yourself being tricked by the dev's quite a bit, as they are playing off your expectations and pulling the ol' switcheroo on you to keep you on your toes.
That will make things interesting. Either the story will be well written and fun, or it will be a mess that makes no sense, like rantings from a madman.
Although, these learning AI's are getting pretty incredible at learning how to create dialogue and short stories and such.
Been watching this game from all the way back when it was just rumors and whispers amongst gamers. So far I am glad it wasn't vaporware or a scam. And so far, the game itself seems to have a interesting pretense.
Weapon gameplay seems a bit dull, and the weapons don't look like they really make an impact. But this is probably an outdated version, and they still have many more months to tweak and polish it up.
Blizzard is just on a roll of saying stupid crap, they can't seem to stop the ball from rolling anymore. Every boss-man at Blizz right now just drives the nails deeper and deeper into their own company coffin.
I think people are excited because it is a new engine with new movement, parry, etc.
If you try to play the original now, especially on PC, the camera is so sloppy, and it just doesn't feel like it aged all that well.
Been waiting for this remake forever, so I am glad that so many critics are giving it 9's and 10's.
Plus, lets face it, Capcom has been KILLING it with these remakes, and their games in general. Capcom seems to be one of a few remaining studios that actually keeps making great games.
Exclusives are just silly. Unless it is a first party game, exclusives are generally just about no wanting to share your toys with others outside your clique.
PC gets the most games, but they are usually poorly optimized ports that run like crap. Minus the handful of ports that have now been coming over from Sony and such, that actually have much work put into them and run quite well(Horizon, Days Gone, FF7 to name a few).
It is business, I get that. But what a nice world it would be if everyone just got a game on their platform of choice, and everyone got to play with each other and have fun.
Fun......that is the ultimate basis of gaming. And I think most people have forgotten that. Especially dev's and publishers and gaming companies all around. Long gone are the days of competent companies being able to hold their own and make their games and have fun with it. Now it is all about every studio being bought up by big conglomerates, and forced to crunch and speed through game development, so that FUN has become far down the list, with MONEY taking over completely.
