So the Crackdown Demo really impressed me.With games like that coming to the 360 the PS3 will have a dull year lol. Not really but I will say even the demo looked and played super sharp. Graphics were superb, gameplay was excellent. I Love it:D

It will keep me busy until GTA 4 comes out (hopefully) Also Ive decided to stick with Free-roam games exclusively. Shooters just dont seem to interest me unless there in the First Person, and Adventure games are usually not that free roam and I end up trading them way to soon ie: Zelda.

I tried Call of duty 3 today for the Wii and PS3, I have played it for the 360 to and I can say that for me its basically call of duty 2 only with better visuals, its more of the same, and for me I just dont like it. The Wii version was particualrly yuck! Controls sucked and the visuals were so muddy you couldnt tell what was going on. The Wii actually looks bad on an HD TV, it looks better on our standard TV, but Im so used to crystal clear picture quality that some of the Wii games are just Yuck.

Anyway hoping to play Lost planet soon and I hope I like it more than Gears. In retrospect Gears may have been a waste for me, because it was just too short, I couldnt get immersed in it.

So back on topic, I spent about 6 hours watching some movies today. I took my LCD HDTV to a buddys house and we decided we would put the 2 formats to a little wager. HD-DVD, vs. Blu-Ray.

He bought a 360 HD-DVD player today and figured maybe he would rub it in a little, because even I figured HD-DVD would look better, really HD-DVD should be strictly for movies, and lets use Blu-ray strictly as a storage format..war solved..NOT!

So my TV has HDMI inputs, component and VGA, first we tried the HD-DVD player with component inputs, and it looked fantastic. Picture quality was top notch.

Then we tried the PS3 with component inputs and it looked fantastic to. The PS3 had better clarity, but the HD-DVD had slightly better colors, so we called it a tie.

Next we use the 360 VGA input, and wow it seemed brighter, and a touch clearer than before, it was amazing.
So I use the HDMI cable I just got in the mail for my PS3 and WOW! It completley destroyed the HD-DVD picture.
It might have not been as abrupt as night and day, but there was a difference. Richer colors, excellent blacks, and a crispness that would just kill you, no little sparkles or degrading of the picture, god it was amazing.

The first round of Blu-ray got a mediocre review, now I dont if that was the players fault or not, but out of the 4 movies we watched blu-ray took it hounds down. HD-DVD was good, but blu-ray was definitely better. I wish I had a camera to post pics. Every one who says HDMI is a waste......thats your opinion not fact, HDMI has a picture so clear, and crisp, games just look so much better with an ACTUAL DIGITAL signal.
I hope the 360 gets HDMI, I now know what we have been missing.

Anyway, just thought Id post that little tidbit. Oh and is anyone else getting Crackdown? Becase this looks like the Multiplayer game to have:D Co-Op would be a blast:D

All joking and ranting aside, I feel extremely lucky to own all 3 systems. Extremely lucky. Im not rich by any means, we only make like 10,000 a year, but thanks to great budgeting weve managed to afford a few of the nicer things in life, wih out struggling to much.

And as thankful as Iam I have had and still have a sinking feeling in my gut that one of these consoles will flop. Why? I dont know but Ive felt that way for a while, before the 360 launched as a matter of fact.

Its just the fact that its like nintendo has said, 3 console makers cannot co-exsist forever, especially if they are all on an equal playing field. Which is of course why they designed the Wii, to make new control options while sacrifising some horse power, but making it cheaper for everyone to enjoy.

Whilst I believe Graphics dont make the game and come second to gameplay, Im starting to realize that they do help a bit. Which this pertains to the Wii. Sure a decent amount of Wii games has been acceptable, but quite a few are getting docked for having "tacked on" motion controls, and the visuals just are not up to par, for even Gamecube and original Xbox games at times.

Which reminds me of sega. They made great games but there consoles slowly started to spiral downwords, they were trying different things like add-ons, and just trying to be different and have different games, but they failed. It seems since the Gamecube arrived Nintendo is only strong in the hand held market, and there console division may slowly start receding, because they are still looked upon as a "kiddy" company or "toy" company.

Then again look at the 360s Head start, a year headstart, with horsepower just dripping from the thing, yet the draemcast was a head of its time a year in and Sony destroyed them, like a small insect. And the dreamcast didnt have near the failure rate that the 360 had (maybe still has) at launch.

Again now look at Sony, they have some killer horsepower, and spanking new tech, that makes the PS3 an actual super computer...that will unfortunetly take a LONG time to figure the damn thing out, if they EVER figure it out at all, and also do we remeber the Neo-Geo CD perhaps? Back in the 90s it came out with Bleeding edge tech which back then was what the equivolent of what the PS3 is today...price wise as well, and it flopped...no it belly flopped a million times over.

My point is that which one of these historys is going to repeat it self? Hopefully the answer is none, but I just dont feel that way.

In a year or 2 when the Wii visuals really look aged, and Nintendo realises that they need more than Senior citizens, and non-gamers to buy there console, will that be there downfall? Or the fact that 3rd party devs just cant produce proper games for the Wii-mote, and make better versions on the other 2 consoles, will that be when they call it quits?

                                           OR

When MS realises that the Devs have truly tapped the potential of the PS3, and the 360 is at its limit with to less disc space, and inferior tech, will that be there final curtain call? Or the fact that a Sony built 100 million world wide fanbase just cant be touched, and the fact that the Wii is so damn fun, and has taken MSs piece of the pie, will they finally head south with tail between legs?

                                          OR

Will Sony lose touch with there fanbase due to High price, and the fact that the PS3 is just to damn hard to exploit, will it be time for them to throw in the towel? Or the fact that the 360s Headstart, easier to design for machine really was more technically sound, and better over all, is it time to bury Sony then?

In my opinion, I think within 3 years the Wii will be on its last legs. Sooner or later it wont be able to hang with the big boys. Why Im even comtemplating this Ill never know, I just dont want to throw a whole lot of money into a particular console only to have it fail, for now I enjoy them all, but one will go sooner or later and which one will it be?

So Im bored, I cant help it. I always like to hear peoples opinions on whats going on in my head wether they agree or disagree:D

So game spot ripped this game completley, as did some of the users, basically because its a hack n slash RPG and gets a little repetetive.....um what do you think hack n slash is?

For me it awesome. its got Some killer armor, Great spell effects, Awesome Lighting, and the visuals.....are better than obliivon in my opinion, A touch below Gears and and step above obliivon, and that the truth. Sure most of the game is fighting....hence hack n slash, but it does what it does very good, and Game spot saying its visually unimpressive just makes me think they are on Heroine, and rock cocaine.

Ive never seen a hack n slash work so fluidly and look so beutiful. the pics here on Gamespot dont do any console games justice. So far the PS3 has the most fun launch games out of all the systems yet:D

I just can get over them saying it doesnt do hack n slash genre justice, and the graphics suck....Gameplay is great if you like the genre, which obviously the reviewer doesnt so why have him review it? And the graphics are top notch, Textures are fabulous, the little details are outsatnding.

Between Resuistance and Untold Legends, Ive never seen better launch games, way to go Sony. Good to see that these games are holding up against a system thats been out a year now. Cant wait to see what the games are like in another year, for all the systems.

Dont get me wrong I adore the 360...when its working, but its time I gave a little praise to another console that truly deserves it. Way to go Sony:wink:

Oh and if anyone can think of any good PS2 or PS3 games I missing out on let me know, especially PS2 games. Im wishing I would of never sold my PS2 so long ago, or my PSP, but I talk about that in my previous blog entry...I think.

There are threads in the PS3 forums every day about how someone goes to a Gamestop, Target, or Walmart and says that they are not selling one PS3 and are pushing the 360s because the PS3 has to many problems, to expensive blah blah blah.

Normally I write it off as bull but I witnessed it first hand today.
my first stop was Gamestop and I asked the guy about PS3 games and he says yea we got them, but there behind the counter....why I asked him and he says were not selling any PS3s anyway so why put them out? We have had 6 just sitting here since november and no one has bought them because they suck, and the 360 is better, the 360 has no problems while PS3s are constantly failing.....LMAO:lol::lol::lol:

I know for a fact hes full of S*** because since launch Ive been to that Gamestop many times and they have never had ANY until just recently, so right there he is full of S***. If only sony knew about this, retailers are litterally pushing for it to fail...WHY? I ask my self, why.

So I buy my games and leave, just laughing, because before I left I was sure to tell him about my 6 360 replacments and that Im calling and emailing his corperate office now that I had his name LMAO.

So were off to target to pick up some items and I of course go to the gaming section while my girl is shopping and I see 2 PS3s, and while im looking at them some dumb broad comes over anmd says those have been sitting there since early december.....again BS, because its like this, since this thing has launched, Ive been to every store between my hometown and Olympia (place we went shopping, capital of Wa. state) and never have I seen any PS3s in these stores until now.

So anyway Im pissed, I call her out, Im like you are full of crap, because Ive been here since launch and NEVER seen any and you guys always said you never had any so what gives?....She stutters um...um, well thats just what the other guys tell everyone so they will buy the 360, I was like there is nothing major wrong with the PS3, I said learn your electronics lady, your idiot Co-workers must be thinking of the 360. So I took info and plan on contacting target HQ as well.

So for the finally, we go to our last stop, Super walmart for groceries, you know the routine I go to electronics, and they dont have any. So I talk with the worker who says yep we sell out everytime we get em, we have big displays etc. They say they cant give the Wii away but the 360 sells good to.

My conclusion? These young punks at Gamestop,and certain stores are obviously partial to the 360, and want the PS3 to fail, and unfortunetly a lot of these young punks are managers so what do you do? The reaosn they dont sell is because the workers keep them out of site as I witnessed with my own eyes, at Target and Gamestop the PS3s were behind the 360s and you had to ask for them if you were not looking closely.

At walmart they have a nice display, and they announce when the PS3s come in, the reason the other store are not selling is because people dont know they are there, and that is a fact as I have witnessed it today. I mean for a Gamestop to not even have the games visible is a F***ing crime against humanity, such BS!

And as far as reports saying the Wii is sold out...were? Target and gamestop had 2 dozen of them and the game racks were full so what gives there?
Oh and were are all the PS3 Overheating, red lights of doom reports? By this time last year 360s were dropping like flys as well as my first had gone and my second was going.

Not trying to be biased but ALL the consoles deserve a fair fighting chance, why are thesse snot nosed little pricks so biased? Honestly I own them all and its great I have that luxury, If I could only have ONE I would pick the 360 only because of the games, but I sure as hell wouldnt dog the other systems or try to hinder there sales.

This isnt bull either, this was my experience today and Im Fing shocked:( For those of you who are biased unpaid employees of the console wars, I got a piece of advice, I dont like, you, I dont want to know you, and you can F*** OFF, seriously.

You dont like the system thats fine, but why? Have you ever played it? Just as we dont judge people because we dont know them, dont judge the console untill you played it, and If you still dont like it, act like an adult, STFU! Lots of things me and my friends disagree on, but I give my opinion once, and thats it, lets not drag around a dead or dying horse ok.

I know there are a lot of Gamestop and retail store managers and empoyees on this site, in the forums, and if you do this S*** just to irritate people....DONT!, because one day you may find your self in a position you dont want to be in, like losing your job because youve been reported too many times to corperate HQ.

All Im saying is this is another reason to kill system wars PERIOD! And thesse stores need to be reported, which Im going to do....now:wink:

After all that I still got a hundred bucks in-store credit, and still got my $30.00 Gamestop gift card, plus another hundred in cash specifically saved for games, so this year is looking good:D

Anyway just taking a breather to check messages, emails and so forth, dont know when Ill be back on xbox live, Resistance is pretty much Consuming all of my online game time, it has the options and 40 players online, that runs silky smooth, I couldnt ask for more:D
 
Sometimes I still wonder why I pay the 50.00 a year for live. I mean as of late usually my friends have been coming over to play split screen Co-Op and stuff and everytime someone wants to play online I cant, which sucks because I dont want them thinking Im blowing them off or being a dick, and then usually when I can play every one else is off-line or I cant voice chat cause my girl is sleeping, so basically I pay $50.00 a year to get content a week earlier, as I could still message with a silver account.

I dont know what this blogs about really just some stuff I did today, and some stuff Ive been thinking on as of latley. Whats really bothering me is my buddy Daniel (GS ID  nyc05) was only suppose to be gone a month or so and its been over 2 with no contact from him so that is kind of a bummer.

Anyway to my xbox buddys sorry I been on or able to play, maybe someday, when I can find a multiplayer game I like:P

....Seriously an hour and a half to DL games and demos on my PS3 and 360 now that I have every eletronic device I own hooked up to my Wireless router.

Ive gt my PC runing via ethernet, and ALL my game consoles via wireless router, and I didnt know this little nown fact until doing some reaserch tonight that the DL times can get messy the more things you have hooked up to a wireless router.

Wow awesome, I sure hope Apple decides to come out with a wireless game console (its been rumored) because Ill buy it then my DL times can be non-exsistent:wink:

Really though Since I hooked my PS3 up wirelessly the DL times are crazt, I noticed a significant drop when I hooked the Wii up too, but now its worse lol. Why? I have no idea why.

PS3 has to many features that I dont know jack about. To many to friggin list.................................................................... ......brain...cramping...teh....Cell......controlliing.....me....*reaches for cookie, but all is lost*

The dreaded grinding DVD drive monster has come back. It did it twice yesterday and once this morning:(

What the heck is going on with these things? Ive hardly played it since Ive got my new one, at least not as much as I played the others, is this thing really going to be that crippled? Iam I rally only suppose to play ot like an hour a day to make it last?

Hoping its just a coincedence and maybe it was just a hardware glitch of sometype. If it does go bad I will just wait until mid summer or fall to replace it. The newer cooler running 360s should be out by then, and there should be no more of the older systems on the market, and at that point n time if its bad I will use my extended warranty service plan and exchange it then.

Hoping for the best though, like I said earlier I hope it was just a temporary glitch of some kind:)
