does it have a spelling mini-game? Because, if it does, you're out of luck.

The game is alot of fun. I like the story, but I kinda hate how it's broken up.

For example:

ch 1

1 minute story: new chapter unlocked. 1 minute story: new chapter unlocked. 1 minute story: new chapter unlocked. PLAY GAME new chapter unlocked 1 minute story: new chapter unlocked. 1 minute story: new chapter unlocked.

Repeat for each chapter.

I like my game experience to seamlessly blend story and gameplay.

My feelings exactly....I didn't really see the need for it to be that way either. You have to sit through 10 or so minutes of cut scenes, some of which are well-done game engine cutscenes, but others that are "wait for line to scroll across the screen, press X" are just such an incredible bore. The 10 minutes of cut scenes wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to go through the chapters and choose each individual story portion. If you could just watch the entire thing in one ten minute burst, it probably wouldn't be so bad, but as it is...it's really annoying.

It's called a patent.jrhawk42
Actually, it's called copyright. Here's what you need to do: Write down your ideas in some way and you have copyright over it. The new standards on copyright law make it that easy...once you have it down in writing, it's yours for your life +70 years. Now actually getting that idea into a game, well, that's a whole other can of worms. Learn some programming in Flash or how to make mods for games like Half-Life 2 to get your feet wet into game programming, then if you really end up liking it, dive even deeper into some hardcore programming.

Well, the other fact of the matter is that some games that are honestly horrible and are hated by gamers and critics alike are bought in mass amounts by casual gamers. Just look at the Wii and the tons of shovelware that has been foisted upon the console (I'm not slandering the Wii, it's a great console, but devs know to go where the money is). Those games, such as the five hundred or so minigame collections that have come out in the past year, are terrible games, but they probably sell better than most hardcore games that critics and gamers fawn over. I'm not saying that devs shouldn't produce those hardcore games, quite the opposite actually, but you need to look outside your own demographic to see why games like "55 versions of Skee-Ball: Family Edition" are always selling out while a copy of Zack and Wiki is still sitting in the clearance bin gathering dust.

Basically this is what the game consisted of: Driving from one point to another to destroy something or someone. Getting shot at while you drive everytime you pass ANY person in the whole map. And finally, getting out of your vehicle to repair it...i think that is probably what i did most lol.Trickedoutps3
Yep, that sounds about right. Plus there's the fact that every checkpoint you encounter along the road (for most missions you have to go past at least two if you're driving) consists of 7-10 guys with mounted machine guns and the unusual behavior of wanting to chase you across the entire map and kill you, completely abandoning the post they were supposed to be guarding (by the way, who exactly do the checkpoint guys work for?). By the time you've reached the place to start your mission, you're down to 1 health bar, have about 4 bullets left, and there are probably still a couple of guys in jeeps chasing you down from the checkpoint you went through ten minutes ago. Farcry 2 seems to me like a game that, if given a couple more months of development and beta testing, could have been something truly spectacular...but, as it is now, it just seems rushed.

Which is why it's so disappointing that those portions of the game were so frustrating and hampered. Constant checkpoints, an abysmal map system, and continual jeep patrols = frustration and repetition, not freedom.Paladin_King
Agreed...the game did have a huge map, but almost all of it was very drab and brown and not interesting to look at. Then there was the fact that absolutely everyone in the game wanted to kill you...that made going anywhere a life and ammo consuming chore.

I love Burnout Paradise, and I think it's the best example of what a development team can do to improve a game and add value to it instead of releasing sequel after sequel that doesn't change much at all.

...but, with this new Party Pack, and its $10 price tag, I just want to make sure it's worth it. Can anyone tell me how much content there is in the pack? I just want to make sure I'm getting my money's worth before I drop an extra $10 on the game.

I'm pretty sure the PS3's pad has a bigger vibration motor in the left side than the right one, so developers can program different degrees of vibration instead of having just one option to choose from, on or off.

In between the action, I will have to say that the game is pretty repetitive. It takes way too long to get from place to place, and the only respite comes from the 5 bus stations scattered around the map, but even those are too far apart to really make them convenient. The action itself is pretty good, but getting from action scene to action scene is a chore.
