Yeah, the Wii could have really done with a hard drive. Even if it was as little as 10gb. They've seemingly considered storage for the 3DS so I suspect they'll do the same with the Wii's follow up too.

I didn't play much of Gears 2 online, but I found that you couldn't always run and gun in that game. It's best to team up with somebody so you can help each other out. That and find spots you're least likely to be caught out by shotguns. You want to keep you enemies as far away from you as possible, unless you can kill them before they spot you.

I've not played Black Ops yet, but this Nazi Zombies mode sounds exactly like the 'Behead the Undead' mode in TimeSplitters 1 & 2, in which you just had to survive as many waves of zombies as possible, trying to get as high score as posssible.

But a Gamerscore means nothing. At best it says "This is how much more time I have to play video games that you" or "I have a higher score than you because I can afford more games than you", it doesn't make you any better than anybody else. Still, it exists because people believe otherwise, and race to rack up more points than any of their friends. Particular achievements are worth showing off, for example if you've completed every Left 4 Dead 2 campaign on expert, but even then some people cheat some achievements, which devalues the achievement anyway.

Personally, I only go for the achievements if I really enjoy the game. If i've got the majority of achievements to be had in a game, its because I really like it. If there are only a handful unlocked, its either because the achievements are beyond my interest or I simply don't like the game enough.

I think it existed simply to encourage 3rd party support and to show off some of the technical possibilities of the Wii. Sadly we've seen nothing of the sort.

They need to encourage greater support in two ways. Stronger technology that is on par with other consoles, so developers are encourage to port more games over, and they should help advertise strong, unique titles on the console.

I'd only rate all-stars down because its essentially the same thing they released 20 years ago. If I ignored that fact and rated each game for what they are, i'd give it a perfect 10. If you own those 4 games, there aren't too many more 2D platformers worth owning. Not even the original 3 Donkey Kong games, or Sonic 3 & Knuckles compare.

Yeah, FPSs are the most competitive online genre. You're playing against people who have the time to put in 4+ hours on a daily basis. They've had a lot of practice, know the maps inside out and have subconciously developed 100's of tactics. You can start out expecting to be any good unfortunately.
