But a Gamerscore means nothing. At best it says "This is how much more time I have to play video games that you" or "I have a higher score than you because I can afford more games than you", it doesn't make you any better than anybody else. Still, it exists because people believe otherwise, and race to rack up more points than any of their friends. Particular achievements are worth showing off, for example if you've completed every Left 4 Dead 2 campaign on expert, but even then some people cheat some achievements, which devalues the achievement anyway.
Personally, I only go for the achievements if I really enjoy the game. If i've got the majority of achievements to be had in a game, its because I really like it. If there are only a handful unlocked, its either because the achievements are beyond my interest or I simply don't like the game enough.
