I still don't get this use of the term 'flop'. It's a business term, used to describe a product that has sold far below expectation. A game can't be considered a flop because of review scores as the game may still sell well. If it does, which in this case is likely, then it would have been a success, as aposed to a flop. Regardless of the quality of the particular game.

I think the graphics are quite good. They're not amazingly detailed, but nothing looks pixelated, which was my main concern.

Let's not get into any arguements here. Remember it is just a tech demo, which is rarely ever representation of the final product. Snake's costume in this video may have been used to demonstrate the level of character detail possible on the 3DS, compared to the PS2 version. It may also be possible that they considering a new costume system for the game, in order to mix things up and create a slightly more unique experience for 3DS users. It could just be a new costume to choose during the game. We just don't know yet.

I think the reason we have so few motion plus games is because motion plus has such a small install base. It could be seen as a risky option, releasing something that exclusively uses motion plus as it costs more for people to play such games if they don't already have it. Zelda may swing things around a little bit, but I suspect few games will ever use it.

If you played your PS2 on a screen as small as a handheld's, it would look better. The pixelation would be less obvious and the differing levels of detail would become less obvious. It would be like playing the game on the PS2, but squinting your eyes ever so slightly. The only real differences between those images shown is that the PS2 version has blurred backgrounds, wheras the 3DS version doesn't, as its trying to create a sense of depth.

Saying that, the texture's on Snake have improved, but I wonder if that was for the sake of the tech demo, rather than the final product, as the tech demo followed Snake a lot more closely than the actual game does.

I'm pretty sure it is, its just developers are going about it the wrong way. They shouldn't be working on accurately porting games over to the Wii. Rather they should be developing a game designed to perform into the consoles own strengths. Something like TimeSplitters Wii would work amazingly well.

Gamecube-era Graphics are quite good by the Wii's standard, even though the framerate drops considerably when it has to render 3D graphics. So I'm assuming that World at War and Reflex had 64-era graphics, right?

I've seen far better looking Gamecube/Wii/PS2 games.

honestly i think WaW was bad overall but a lot due to terrible frame rate and choppy animation, but Reflex wasnt that bad, and had its good spots from time to time

Some of the levels in Reflex look alright, but the Wii can't really do justice to those helicopter levels. I'd still prefer something that looked less pixelated and more colouful.

I disagree. The Wii has loads of great games. Some game's scores may be lower, but I feel that has more to do with the fact that Wii games tend to differ from those available on the other consoles. With the other 2 consoles, you end up with many similar themed games with equally similar gameplay and they become a safer option for gamers. For sure, the online support is far better than the Wii's, and online shoot'em ups will, seemingly, always reign supreme, but there are many highly-rated 360/PS3 games that I feel are not as good as some of the lower rated Wii games. I think this in an opinion many others would share, if they were not simply writing off the Wii without trying out the games properly.

The Wii has a massive collection of great games, which even if sequels to older generation games, all differ from each other. With the 360/PS3 its a huge collection of similar FPS games, 3rd person action/adventure games and racing games. Oh and a load of 'physics-based' platformers that aren't anywhere near as original as they make out they are.

The game suits the Wii really well. It's an addictive game and I have fond memories of playing this game with mates back in the day. It's a shame about the lack of online support, which you would really expect to have been included, but its clear some effort has gone into developing the game. Even if they're about to shun the Wii audience. Maybe this has something to do with the lack of uptake for online gaming with EA games on the Wii? That or EA just expects Wii games to pirate it, so avoided putting in more effort than they felt was worth.
