2-player mode is in that special area, with the metal Sonic face. I can't remember the name of it. Anyways, head over there and it'll ask you whether you want to play 1 player or 2 player.

If you're not used to it, I guess classic controller is the way forward for you. Personally I much prefer the Wiimote/nunchuk combo. I think its the fastest set up.

I still prefer the N64 version myself, though I feel I have to point out that it isn't for nostalgic reasons. I feel the original has more interesting level design, a more interesting single player mode, which has an incredibly high replayability. It also feels more like its trying to be a game. The graphics are definately dated, and the controls aren't as easy to get used to anymore, but those are the only aspects that really need changing as they were limited by the console the game was designed for.

The new game is good. I did enjoy playing through the main game, but couldn't bring myself to do it twice. A few of the multiplayer maps are quite good too, but I find split-screen isn't as fun as the original for some reason. I prefered hunting for the good weapons on the map, rather than selecting them from the start. I liked that proximity mines could become annoying. I liked the fact that on some original maps, some areas were comparable to others, meaning screen-lookers were occasionally mis-lead. I liked how some maps gave you the opportunity to spot players you couldn't necessarily reach straight away. I liked the hollow walls you could hide in. I liked how you could find body armour to make things more interesting, rather than more predictable when going head-to-head against a single player. (That is to say rather than fighting on next to no health and expecting to die first).

As I say, I do like the Wii version. It's just a little too straight forward compared to the original.

I think Twilight Princess looked too pale and foggy at times. Not all that interesting. Besides, its not the graphics that matter, its whether or not we'll be playing the same game we first played 14 years ago.

In Spectors defence, the only reason the camera works in the Super Mario Galaxy games is because of the level design. That's not to say my first impressions of Epic Mickey have been all that great.

I hate blur effects for reloading too. It's as if you have to give complete attention to reloading a gun, when in reality you'll be trying to remain aware of your surroundings at the same time.

To the above poster, most modern shooters have auto-aim to an extent. Call of Duty and Gears of War are two prime examples. It's subtle, but its there because analog sticks can't replicate fluid motion.

Is NGamer to be trusted?

AmayaPapaya
What you mean to say is "Does NGamer share my opinion of games generally? In which case, you wouldn't know unless you followed them. Asking them if they can be trusted is to suggest they might lie or something.

5/10 on Eurogamer. Apparently after the first few stages it becomes repetitive, with no variety in the challenege and no increase in difficulty.

This thread starts out by suggesting Nintendo didn't have the money to compete directly with Sony and Microsoft with a powerful console. Nintendo make more profit in the games industry than both those companies combined.
