@prickpear: Oh ok, i live in Europe so i don't know any Chris Hardwick or his aftershow for the walking dead. Stuff like that would explain why it became so popular though. At least in the US. And well most stuff that's popular in the US becomes popular in Europe too, except those primitive death penalties thankfully.

It's funny that as soon as i heard they made a AC movie i immediately thought "ah well it's gonna suck". Then i heard Fassbender and Irons are in it and i thought "oh well, might not be bad after all". Says something about my prejudice about game-movies. Then again a good actor is only as good as the script so we'll have to wait and see.

@prickpear: there's still guys like me though who are into the zombie-genre in general and long before it became mainstream. it was actually really weird to see it become that mainstream, since it's a really weird thing to become mainstream. I mean vampires...ok, but zombies? And all those people watching the Walking Dead where bodies get ripped apart frequently? It's kinda hard to grasp actually how that became so succesful. Sadly the Walking Dead sucks, except for the 1st 5 episodes, which were really nice, but afterwards it just became another soap with an enormous amount of unlikeable characters (but that is subjective of course). Shane was the only interesting character and he got killed off.

Dying Light was a really cool game. I loved the exploration, free-running and leveling up in the beginning. Sadly the endgame isn't balanced at all. Even the night-zombies (forgot the name, it's a year ago, i wanna say feral, but i think that's fallout) die real quick from those endgame weapons, like medieval swords and katanas. And from that point on it's just boring. Even coop is lame after that point, because you just 1-shot everything. The last skills you aquire, like unlimited stamina, are also way OP.

I wonder if they patched any of this but in my case too late. I played it from release for a good 2 or 3 months (pretty much until bloodborne was released) and during that time i don't recall any patches.

So did things get harder towards the end now? Do u still get these OP-weapons and skills?

man, i need a new mercenaries mode. re5 mercs was 1 of the best things i ever played. Me and my friends would always go back to it after a while. It just didn't get boring, for me at least. The whole concept with using your guns to set up melee kills which give u an extra 5 secs, so if you're fast and use a lot of melee you are able to kill all 150 enemies on the map and get mad points for your leftover time - i just loved it. You could just play it for fun and blast everyone with a shotgun, but getting those crazy 700-900k took a lot of skill and practise. It also gave the game so much replayability. I had somewhat around 700 hours on re5, which usually only happens with rpg-games. 700 hours!! on a third-person-shooter!!

Mercs Reunion and re6 mercs was fun too, but nothing could ever compete with the original re5 mercs.

I hope that the next new RE-title is gonna bring that back, that would be awesome.

Noice! Finally an open world game without a minimap!! i love it!!!! Very smart design. I thought it was always so stupid that games like witcher 3 had a minimap because from a player standpoint it's just too efficient to permanently look at it instead of enjoying the beautiful graphics of the game (and the witcher was quite beautiful indeed). Also i don't like my hand being hold in games and while it's already visible that this game will do that too (highly visible enemy loot) i just really like the fact there's no stupid minimap, the mother of all handholding (and mother of all immersion killers).

I just hope i don't celebrate this fact too early :)

I don't understand this artificially created "episodic format", what's this about? yeah, tv shows come out in episodes because, well, they have to be filmed, and there has to be a structured, regular timetable for the tv to work, called program. But even with tv shows don't you all (like me) like it better when you can watch a season in your own time (like a whole season in 3 days) rather than watch it over a whole year, 1 episode a week? Netflix and other streaming services already make this possible. So the tv-industry is evolving while the games-industry is devolving? Hmmm.
