i enjoyed my playthrough of the game, but it does not motivate me to play through it again any time soon. as with all open world games they tend to get boring and repetitive for me after a while. Horizon did a good job of not giving me that feeling throughout my playthrough (except for the collectible hunting, for which the rewards were really bad) but as soon as i started ng+ that feeling of "all that again?" kinda overwhelmed me.

i liked the character, the setting (the jungle area around Meridian was mesmerizing), the story was ok and the gameplay was a lot better than i thought or what i am used to from open-world games (except what's the point of the rope caster?). I had a lot of fun during a side mission when i had to find items scattered over a field of tramplers and i just stood on a mountain shooting corruption arrows and stirring up conflicts until only one was left (they also work on thunderjaws :D), so i do have some good memories.

yet i don't feel like playing it again. the story was also what kept me going and since i know how it ends now, there isn't much incentive for me. YET ANOTHER snow dlc (meaning other games i play and the apparent trend that a dlc has to have a snow-setting nowadays) is not motivating either. if it was a DLC set in a swampy jungle, maybe...

Nice, i heard good things about Amnesia. Might be something nice for the dark winter days ahead. And as a follow-up to the Evil Within 2.

@clay544888: Well there was the 1st Dark Souls, which was amazing and an original game (sort of a reboot of Demon's Souls for more players outside of playstation) and the 2nd and 3rd Dark Souls are all based on that Nostalgia of the 1st game. In DS2 pretty much all characters you find talk about how great and legendary the 1st Dark Souls was, giving you a feel of "ok so what am i playing here, does it have an identity of its own?", DS3 is also for a big part based on that Nostalgia, giving the players a half-arsed rehash of the favourite level of the original game, a DLC that does exactly the same and also tries to reimagine favourite boss battles of the original game that of course never come close (Sif, Priscilla, Ornstein & Smaug). I would have liked it better if DS2&3 would've just been more their own games instead of trying to be the 1st game again. The DS2 Dlcs were a great example of how those games should have been done, with new ideas for level design ("unfreeze" eleum loyce, the verticality of brume tower) and cool bosses that definitely have their own identity among players (Sir Alonne, Ivory King). My opinion at least.

@NTM23: we'll see. i'm not a big fan of pure nostalgia if it doesn't fit. it kinda destroyed one of my favourite games for me (Dark Souls series). i'm all for new actors if it makes sense. of course the terminator story doesn't make much sense to begin with, as it includes time travel and so why does Skynet only send 1 Terminator after the mother and after that failed 1 after the son instead of sending a stupidillion every second to make sure at least 1 will get the kill?

As an 80s kid watching movies like romancing the stone when i was little, i was kinda surprised to see Kathleen Turner nowadays in series like Californication (or was it Entourage?). Not that i have anything against obese people, but man, that was quite the transformation.

So, yeah, Linda Hamilton i haven't seen her either since Terminator 2.

@azuretenno: depends on the game. resident evil stories were always more like a b-movie, so bad voice acting actually compliments that (and may or may not have been done purposely). but try selling a last of us with bad voice acting.
