@Benny_a: it's (partly) true, i was interested in Nioh until i saw the magic, which looked like what 7 year old girls draw in their freetime. no, thx.

yeah, yeah. looks good obviously, but that kind of trailer means the release is 2-3 years away. so enjoy and forget i'd say (for now).

....aaaand i'm hyped.

i play third-person games almost exclusively, with a few exceptions like bioshock or dishonored, but i'm slowly coming around with the idea of a 1st person RE-game. maybe that notion is boosted by the most excellent dishonored 2 i'm playing right now.

i was gonna buy it anyway, because i love almost all RE-games, but i certainly like what i read here.

one of my most exciting moments i had thus far in the game was spontaneously taking out 3 overseers with a wire mine. i didn't have much time this weekend so i'm still in the 2nd mission (1st mission in Karnaca) and since this is my 1st playthrough (i play as emily) i kinda wanna explore the whole map, go every possible way, both kill and incapacitate enemies and backtrack (e.g. for the black market key). i try the stealthy approach, but i'm playing on hard, so i simply get seen every once in a while and then i just go with the flow and see how the situation unfolds. in the overseers' office that i entered through the roof entrance i got detected by 3 overseers on level 3 and i quickly ran up the stairs and dropped a wire mine on the top of the stairs, i barely got out of the way when it went off and covered the entire staircase with limbs, heads and torsos of all 3 overseers. overseers on different levels of the building didn't get alerted so i could immediately continue my stealthy approach (after taking 5 minutes to appreciate the massacre).

this game works very well for me, giving you a lot of different tools and makes you make concious decisions about what you want to upgrade because you can't upgrade everything (at least i hope they did take this over from the 1st game), making it your own personal emily- or corvo-build. very excited for the rest of the game.

just what is up with the bloodflies? they are supposed to be the new rats, yet they don't seem threatening at all. while trying to slowly sneak by the 1st nest i encountered i quickly found you can just run up to it and swing you sword a few times, killing both all flies and their nest and taking hardly any damage (on hard difficulty).

also, does anyone know the code for the safe in the overseers' office? I WANT DAT RUNE!

ah well, good thing i still have to finish rise of the tomb raider, i'm kinda torn though dishonored would definitely be my favourite as i bought rise only to wait for dishonored, yet it is gorgeous and very much fun to play. 9gb is pretty large for day 1, wonder how long that takes?

is anyone else getting the definitve edition as a preorder bonus? i thought that was pretty cool. i've played it on ps3 of course, but wouldn't mind giving it a try on the 4. after i finished those two major games i'm still playing ;)

@FallenOneX: that's not true for uncharted or dark souls either (you get a pop-up in the menu or the MP menu), but yeah most patches (in those two games) are concerning online components and weapon/equipment balancing

@freeformrulz: yes it actually is, at least where i preordered. although i'm sure you're referring to this large day 1 patch, whereas the definitive edition will likely be a separate download code.
