[QUOTE="RipPistons2221"]This is my second build but its not going as well as the first. I connected the processor, heatsink/fan, ram, video card(which i went and bought a new one after there was no image the first time so thats not the problem), and connected the dvd drive and hard drive both via SATA and but them in the two primary spots separtely. Any ideas what would cause the fans to start spinning and sound like its booting up yet no image appears on the monitor like nothing is connected?LahiruD

No beeps?

Check your VGA card & monitor & make sure the Processor Fan's cable is connected with the motherboard

and it beeps once now

Will i get better performance if i devote one core to the game and the other to background tasks or should i just let the cores slip all the work?

I had this problem too at one point -- had to update my bios and didn't have to reinstall windows to get the computer to recognize it. I'd start by updating your BIOS before reinstalling everything.Mentho

ok ive been searching online about how to do this..i dont have a floppy drive but i do have a cd/dvd drive...what can i do?

I had a 3200+ single core...and i just upgraded to a dual core and i booted up and the second core isnt recognized...what do i do?

EDIT: i flashed the bios and in the system tab it acknowledges a dual core, but in the task manager it still only shows one cpu....what do i do?
