So in other words he is saying that the Playstation 3 is a pain to develop for and now that he finally gets how to use it, new systems are going to come out for him to learn how to develop for.
"There's no hunger or experience system, no alchemy or weapon buffing, and no Ender Dragon to hunt down and defeat." you make it sound like that is a bad thing. All unnecessary archaic gameplay mechanics that dampen the experience. I would gladly trade certain craftable items and resources for seamless xbox live multiplayer. I also do not like how vague the review is on how limited the world is, how limited? Is it like 1 kilometer big? I would even take "it takes 30 seconds to run from one side to another" big.
I know this is pretty cool, but looking at how poorly CoH sold and the fallout from the free to play version; what are you doing THQ? Your in a financial apocalypse and your making something that has lost you a ton of money in the past.
Thats suicide considering that you can pick up 2 years worth of xbox live for $100 off amazon. They need to be offering the system for free if Microsoft is going to pull something like this.
Until I can buy a new game and if I do not like it within 7 days I can return; I stick with the $5 dollars less used copy from Gamestop. Gamestop may force their employees to bug the hell out of you for subscriptions and reserves to the point of harassment but at least I can try out Brink and really find out if it really is a stinky pile of turd (which it is). Maybe a game that is reviewed very highly just doesn't connect with me *cough Red Dead, Uncharted 2 *cough, I simply just can't trust $60 on just reviews, commercials, or word of mouth anymore. Maybe developers should find better ways to save money instead of guilty tripping and punishing the consumers. Maybe they should cut back on marketing like as in not flying game journalist out to Hawaii for 3 days to play a couple of new titles they have coming out in a few months or flying them to a mountain top for little reason to only show off a small potion of their best title. Maybe developers should guilt trip and punish their marketing staff for being stupid and wasting so much money.
