[QUOTE="GazzaB"][QUOTE="carljohnson3456"][QUOTE="GazzaB"]The fact that you pay for XBL does not make the PSN service any better. We're not arguing value here, we're arguing which service is better. And any cows trying to say PSN is better are ignorant and living in a dream world. Are there achievements in PSN? No, trophies are not there yet. Does everyone have a reputation in PSN? No. Does PSN have a recent players list? No. Is there a complaint filing system in PSN for reporting people when they abuse the system? No. Is there a guide or in-game XMB? No, not yet. Does PSN have instant messaging like MSN messenger? No. Does it have cross game voice chat? No. Does it have Video chat? Not that im aware of. Does it have matchmaking? Yes. But does it have enhanced matchmaking based on using cumlative reputation, location/language and gamerzone? No. Does it have a bio section where users can write a little about themselves? No. Does it have a trueskill system similar to XBL? No. Can you send picture messages? Not that im aware of.
I honestly could go on, but im getting bored. Fact is, these are all feaures of XBL that PSN doesnt have. Yes, im-game XMB is supposedly on its way, yes it will make PSN alot better, yes, it will close the gap between XBL and PSN to a certain degree. Does it make PSN better than XBL or close to being better? No. You can argue that you wouldnt use half of those XBL features, but thats your opinion. The fact that XBL does have those features is FACT.

I no doubt agree that Live is better than the PSN, but my problem is the fee, like you said. It's not about value, but all I want to do is play online. I dont care about MSN Messenger, I disabled it on my 360. Matchmaking? I never noticed it. I dont even know what a "trueskill system" is after a whole year of playing on Live.
And on the PSN...
Yes, you can send picture messages.
Yes, you can have video chat.
Yes, it has a recent player list.
Yes, it has a bio section where users can write about themselves.
Besides all that, I'm just saying, I just want to play online, and I'm sure there are others that feel the same way. And for that, the PSN might be "better" than Live for some people, like myself. But, that cant be said on a pure fact level ya know. Like I said, I paid for a year's worth of Live and hardly noticed any of those features. I do wish there was a complaint filing system on PSN though.
I wasnt sure since i dont have the Playstation Eye. And i completely forgot about the online profile, sorry:x But wheres the recent players list? I realise some games like Motorstorm have one, but does PSN have one?
And im comparing services here at the minute on a feature basis. I reaslise when choosing, pricing is a factor but im merely looking at which service is better, so pricing isnt a factor.
It's over at the top of the list on the "friends" tab or whatever. It says, "Players Met".
If MS made Live free, they would demolish all arguments, lol. Then all the cows could say is, "But the PSN is still functional!"
YES, that'd be the best service having all those features free... but as far as MS goes... ..you know how they are :|
