Everyone, lets be fair. These 2 systems are designed with different things in mind. But both with the same medium equation, hopefully, which is they are video game consoles. Microsoft has implemented something that most of the western world incorporates into their day to day lives, media entertainment. Lets be honest, most of the things MS showed at their unveiling, is something the majority does with their smartphones, tablets, laptops, netbooks, e-readers, etc. And remember, MS is ,predominately, a western based corporation. So their designs would cater more to the masses in their hemisphere. (More action, and shooter oriented, american based sports)
Sony is, predominately, a eastern based corporation. They design with another preference in mind.(More 1 vs. 1 fighting, role playing fantasy adventure, euro-based sports, & driving simulation) We all have our own different likes and dislikes, and or interests. And the 2 systems are made around different things the various consumers will like or dislike more. Its not truthfully about, "Which is better?" Its more or less about, "which better suits you? Not all food is the same, because there are different taste. Does that mean there shouldn't be a point of measuring up? Of course not, there needs to be a standard set, but everyone is still entitled to their own choice, dictated by their own conscience, and interest. The biggest issue is the misrepresentation, ignorance, lack of research, and misguided bias statements or blogs/videos/comments shown or given by many fans, and those in the industry itself. Before we make final conclusions, lets lay down all functions, games, specs, designs, compatibility, streaming abilities, and overall console experiences side by side, and come to a concise decision based on what suits you, and not others. No need to bicker amongst ourselves, videogames will always be about games.
@blackace It always should be, and hopefully always will be about choice. Everyone is entitled to make their own respective choice according to the dictates of their conscience. Its the same reason some choose apples over oranges, or grapes over strawberries. It's called preference. And MS is crafting their new hardware to a catered preference. And so is Sony. Is there a better or worse? Yes, we could say that. There always has to be a standard of measuring up. But, we are allowed to choose as we wish, according to what fits our own likes, dislikes, and interests. So as you have stated, "There's just choice." And there is no right or wrong decision, if it was truthfully a personal choice, and not a misguided one due to lack of research, or information.
@HonorOfGod @blackace That would be just like going to a solely Nintendo based site, or a totally Sony based site. I truly believe the comments would totally be different than those of what should be a neutral site.
My thing is, why is the controller still shipping with AA batteries? Seriously? http://kotaku.com/the-tiny-cool-details-of-the-new-xbox-one-controller-509188976
This is a contradictory news blog. Because on the blog below this one, there is one titled, "Xbox one to charge fee for used games." In the blog it states, ""No, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One DOES REQUIRE a connection to the Internet," Microsoft said. "We're designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection." Its a play on words, a very disheartening one at that, because I know many people who do not have internet connection. I am not to happy with microsofts direction right now. TV, Really???. As it looks, my 360 and PS3 will game on for a long time, here I come PC.
