Had breakfast for dinner tonight but I think I'll have some pancakes tomorrow morning. Did not know such a glorious holiday existed.

whiskeystrike

Bro, catch up. None of these american pancakes either.

English pancakes all the way!

That looks really thin :/

And make sure to put lemon juice and sugar on it!

Isn't that worth like twelve years of bad luck, and a curse on your family?

lundy86_4

Wouldn't know. We've missed it before but have yet to experience bad luck. We own our house mortgage free and I go to school yearly without having to rake in thousands of dallars worth of debt :P

We all get what we're due someday.

Who celebrated Pancake Day today?

I know it's an English holiday, but us 'murricans have a lot to thank them for.

One of those things being Pancake Day

lundy86_4

I'm English and live in Canada... We forgot :( We're celebrating tomorrow.

Can't afford to spend the kind of money I want to on a PC right now. I would to play on PC, I realize it is inherently better than consoles in so many ways, but I simply can't drop $1000 or more to build one right now.

Doolz2024

You COULD spend much less than that.

You shouldn't start out PC gaming as an enthusiast. You get to that point if your interest level grows enough for you to find the extra value in beastly hardware.

If you just want to play what PC has to offer you could slash that $1000 pricetag big time.

Why do people think games with low advertising budgets selling 1.1 million copies is a bad thing?

And I love the people who think the PC is not as profitable as consoles.

I seem to recall an article from the LARGEST third party publisher in the ENTIRE WORLD stating that 70% of their operating profit came from the PC.

Jeez seriously why do people post such crap? It's rare that we ever see developers post their own sales numbers because all our data tends to come from NPD which tracks only retail in North America, so numbers always look skewed because PC is kept almost entirely out of the picture.

Just within the last few months we've heard of Terraria selling over a million, Killing Floor selling over a million, Dungeon Defenders sold over a million (a game the devs stated the PC version was outselling consoles 4:1 at release, and the game has been a high seller on PC since), and even Bethesda came out and said Skyrim sold in the "multi-millions" on the PC.

If the PC industry was seriously a "low profit/no profit" area there wouldn't be more third party devs here than any other platforms. There also wouldn't be more third party exclusives than all the other consoles/handhelds combined...

$h!t thread. Hermits are always coming onto system wars and justifying their $1000+ purchase. I bet $10 you'll have more fun actually PLAYING YOUR GAMES than talking about how they're better than consoles.

FashionFreak

I open up System Wars while playing my games for maximum enjoyment.

Yes, you probably could have done better if you built it yourself. But as you've said you don't really have the time and it's your money anyways. Plus I assume you got at least a 3 year warranty, which my encouters with Dell warranty have been pretty good when I fried my laptop MOBO twice. So if you're happy with what you got and what you spent, more power to you.

If you are planning to upgrade your GPU make sure to check your PSU first to make sure you have enough power. If your 6670 works fine for now for what you need, you can always wait since the AMD 7000 series is still rolling out and Nvidia "Kepler" 700 series should be coming in spring/summer.

Do you use this for anything besides gaming? I'm just wondering because of the i7 2600 and 12Gb of RAM

slantedandencha

Yes, I"m a Mechanical Designer and use it for Solidworks, CAMWorks and AutoCAD daily. I did a small amount of research about the PSU before I bought it and according to everyone I've seen discussing it, it is compatible with the GTX 560 TI, though in all honesty after running Portal 2 for a bit and Battlefield: Bad Company 2, I'm feeling ok about what's in it now. I'm sure it would struggle to run BF3 on high settings, but it ain't bad.

It's a tad bit better than my computer, and mine will play any game out atm.

If you can live with not playing a tiny handful of games at high-max settings then you're good to go.

- A lot of unplayed Steam games
- Specs in their sig to show off their hardc0re rig
- Condescending attitude towards non-PC gamers
- Gross sense of self-entitlement

That's it, I think. Feel free to add on!

Most developers don't give a **** about PC gaming

Adversary16

Most developers? Hmm, that seems exaggerated.

You mean a very small minority of devs don't give a **** about PC gaming whereas the PC still maintains the most dev support of any system, and gets the most exclusive games of any system.
