This is obviously a response to the "are your parents gamers thread". First off, I love how some of the younger guys think that us old foggies never picked up a controller in our lives. Me, I've been playing on and off for over 35 years. I've owned so many consoles over the years, I've lost count. I am proud to say that I got my kids into gaming and I'll always have my own clan to play with:lol:

I keep my 360 on it's side while resting on a targus laptop cooling fan which plugs into the usb slot of the HD DVD player. Even when the 360 is turned off, the 2 fans are still running, thus keeping the motherboard nice and cool. I also have it placed o top of a monitor stand with many holes.

I know that this topic has been done to death, but I think we as a collective group are trying to find a solution to a very real problem with our gaming investment. I also think that there are products out there that some guys would like to buy in order to protect their investment, but are scared away by stories that may be factual or fiction.

So, I would like to ask actual owners of the Intercooler EX "ONLY".

How has your experience with the intercooler been?

How long have you had it and how long (on average) is your 360 on with this device?

Do you regret buying/using it?

Do you notice if it is indeed draining (or upsetting the flow of) the electrical current of the power supply?

Has it helped your 360 in preventing the RRD?

Does it matter that MS says that use of this device will void your warranty?

Does your 360 fail no matter what you've done?

Seriously, I am asking for truthful accounts. Not it sucks or sell it on ebay or I heard or read about or a friend of a friend said it will blow up your dog. This has already been posted too many times. If your intent is to bash without concrete evidence to support you claim, please skip this post.

i am planning to buy Xbox 360, but still waits for Falcon with 65nm.

Can anyone tell me that are these falcon 65nm consoles are available in uk or not????

And all halo3 edition consoles are Falcon ????

And finally

When microsoft will released Falcon Consoles . Can anyone tell me the exact date aor time period???

magikmark84

The 65nm Models are already on store shelves & halo edition ones are 65nm as well, I myself just bought an arcade 360 & it's the 65nm model, runs much cooler ( it gets warm but not hot)

Where do you find out such information? Is there an official source or is it all here-say? The reason I ask is because I own a Halo 360, but it was made in July. I'm not sure if it has the falcon chip (probably not).

Im not asking about the third party fans. I am specifically talking about desk fans. For example, I am currently using a small Vornado desk/floor fan. I can set it to a whisper breeze or a full force tornado. It keeps my 360 very cool even after many hours of use. It also contributes to exceptional air flow. Also, I am very consistant on keeping dust to a minimum (short of a clean room :D ). Also, the fan is set about 4 feet in front of the system, so as not to block any of the vents or force air back into the system.

Will this help prevent any RRD issues or is it just a big waste of time? Also, does anyone else do this?

Star Wars theme is like classic rock. You don't hear it for a long time, but when you do the magic comes back. Halo is the modern rock, fist pumpin' and head banging

Forget the console wars, get what makes you happy and start playing today.

Couldn't agree more. :)

Thats cute and all, very hippie of you but......

You are getting a much better deal for the 360 right now.

I still believe eventually owning a ps3 will pay off in spades though. But I admit every month it gets a little bleaker.

Someone also mention looking at the wii. I am not very interested in the wii but you should deffinatly look into that before deciding on any of the new consoles.

Why thank you,
Though I am no fan of the hippie (I like to bathe ), I am a product of the late 60's.In terms of a much better deal. I belive that when it comes to the hardware and what you get for your money, the PS3 is a better buy. Now for the moment I can not argue that in terms of game library and online service (content and interface) the 360 has no equal. For the last two years MS has had the better platform. Who knows, next year may prove different.

I exclude the Wii only because it is a very different system with it's own niche.

PS3 60 gig with wireless built in and built in blue-ray, free PSN = $500.PS3 80 gig with wireless built in and built in blue-ray, free PSN = $500.PS3 60 gig with wireless built in and built in blue-ray, free PSN = $400.Xbox 360 core 20 gig, wireless adaptor, HD DVD and live = $580.  W/O = $350.Xbox 360 Halo 20 gig, wireless adaptor, HD DVD and live = $630. W/O = $400.xbox 360 Elite 120 gig, wireless adaptor, HD DVD and live = $780.  W/O = $450.Xbox 360 arcade, 5 arcade games and a basic system = $279. (the other 360 offer much better packages)

There are those who will say that blue ray is a waste and they don't need or will buy the HD DVD play, that's fine. On the other hand, there will be those that will see this as a selling point and may seem desirable. Remember guys, not everyone thinks the same.

im getting a new console soon but i cant choos e between the two...i needhelp choosingdstv

You are picking a good time to buy a console. Both companies are lowering prices and throwing in either games or movie, depending. So far, quite a few games are cross-platform. So you should decide which exclusive titles you must have. Online may be decided on where your friends are (if you have any :D ). For me, the 360's controller is the best overall. Again, you have to be comfortable.
Honestly, they both have their pros and cons, but I don't think you will go wrong either way. Xbox 360 has a very good and extensive library. While the PS3 is starting to show signs of life.
