Avatar in Space Chapter 8

I'm bored. So I wrote this. Warning: this contains scenes that could cause somereaders to shout out "Unbelievable! I had no idea!" and then swear a little. Viewer descretion advised.

-------------------------

Book 1, Chapter 8: "Two Halves"

"It is tradition for any male, regardless of his nationality, to present a female water tribesman he wishes to marry with a marriage necklace. This is synonymous with a wedding ring or band which is widespread in both the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation. At one time, the necklace was a symbol of an arranged marriage, but recent changes in equal rights laws have outlawed such barbarisms. Yet tradition remains..."

-Professor Zei, from his television show "Exploring the Universe with Prof. Zei"

"Never underestimate love. It tends to spit in the face of war."

-Air Nomad Proverb

"Never hold hate towards one's enemy. Usually, he will always hate you more. Therefore, conquer him with love and compassion, for these will show him that you and he are of the same blood."

-Avatar Kuruk

----------------------------

Katara watched the Fire Nation soldier bleed. He was wearing the same uniform that the Fire Bender who killed her mother wore. Probably an officer or a pilot.

Katara kicked him in the stomach, forcing the dying man to cough up blood.

All the man did was stare at her. He was lying there bleeding to death and all he did was stare at her. At her mother's necklace.

He crawled his hand into his pocket and produced a similar necklace, although the design on his was of a great whale instead of the Water Tribe symbol.

He held it up to her and said "My mother."

"I'm not your mother, you *******. Neither is the slave who you got that from."

"No, it's..." He coughed up blood then continued. "It's my mother's. On Kio." The Name of the Northern Water Tribe's homeworld rolled of his tongue thick with an accent that was almost identical to her own.

"Give it to her. She is in the village of Ix. Just ask for Kena and say Tyrol sent you." The young officer looked at Katara weakly. He looked at her weakly with a pair of cold, blue eyes.

"Who... who are you? And... why? Why are you here?"

"Blame my dad." The young officer laughed.

And Katara was alone.

End of Chapter.

Remember, Tyrol gets a couple chapters of this fanfiction to himself and they will involve many of the things brought up here. If you are confused, I highly recommend reading Chapter 7. It should be just below this one.

Oh, and here is how I feel about every single policeman, jail, judge, jury, and authority figures in general. San Quentin by Johnny Cash. Song starts at 0:40.

Avatar in Space Chapter 7

Ok, here is my next chapter, but you got to read this one all the way through. There are alot of little details that'll make the ending important, but you have to, have to read it all the way through. You can't scan this one over and skipread the ending. This one is all in the details.

Book 1, Chapter 7: "Desire and Hate"

"Some say the world will end in Fire,

Some say in Ice.

From what I've tasted of Desire

I hold with those who favor Fire.

But if it were to perish twice,

I think I know enough of Hate

To say that for destruction Ice

Is also great

And would suffice."

-Robert Frost, "Fire and Ice"

Part 1:

"What's with Tyrol?" asked a young woman to a fighter pilot.

The young pilot turned his head and looked across the barracks at the gray officer, grudgingly.

"Kami, I'm afraid your fiancé saw a soldier killed today. Zhe was his name, I think. Sucked right up into an air vent," The grim pilot made a thrusting motion with his thumb. "By the Avatar."

"The Avatar." That word. That word hung in the air. Kami shuddered at the thought of that word. "The Avatar" was a word that was rarely spoken, as if the mere mentioning of the word would bring about a plague. It had become a cursed word in recent days.

"I think you should talk to him," the pilot broke the silence. "I think it would help if you talked to him after he finishes his watch."

Kami nodded, smiled, and left the barracks.

Part 2:

Tyrol walked his old route towards the colony's command center. Past the galley where the cooks sautéed masterpieces while the slaves rushed through the kitchen with still sizzling delights into the mess hall next door. Ah. The mess hall. Many a good day was spent there. Tyrol gazed in as he past. He saw that today's special was chili, with imported spices all the way from the Gaoling System. A smile crawled onto Tyrol's face.

After I get through my watch, the officer thought, I might just stop by there and stuff my face silly with food. Chat with the guards. Have a beer with the pilots.

It was good to make plans. That was a lesson he learned in Ba Sing Se. He was just a lieutenant when General Iroh launch his siege over the city. My Gods... What a siege. You had to make plans in war. You had to tell yourself that you will make it home. You had to visit your ailing mother before she died. You had to mourn over your father's grave. You had to see your future wife's calm face. You had to do something. You had to find some reason to live; to go on.

Tyrol's was Kami. She was all he had left. His mother was an empty shell, her brain and body ravaged by disease. His father passed into the Spirit World long ago. Kami, and the future they had together, was all Tyrol had left.

He heard a whistle.

He turned around and saw nothing.

He was near the slave quarters; perhaps one of those water tribesmen was playing a joke on him. If so, someone was going to get whipped for it. Not necessarily the guilty party, but someone was.

Suddenly a sharp, cold motion filled his lower abdomen. It was quickly replaced with a searing, warm flow that pooled in his stomach.

Tyrol turned only to be struck again with the same sharp, cold motion. He fell to his knees, unable to feel his legs.

Now he could see his attacker. She had the most beautiful blue eyes he had ever seen.

End of chapter.

Guess who got him? No really, guess. And this is not the begining of a fanfiction ship. I hate shipping with original characters. Too artifical.

This guy and Sokka might get their own fanfictions when I'm done with Book 1. Tyrol's will be one that'll be set in the past, Sokka's in the present(-ish). Both (especial the Sokka one) will shock you.

Only a few chapters to go!

The Hydra is Angry

The following is a rant caused by nazis, mods, and pedophiles. Readers are advised to step back.

My current face:

Pooldude, if you are reading this, take heed at my words: You have wakened a sleeping giant. I assure you, if you want war, you can most certianally have it. I used to mildly respect you, but after you deleted my thread that called for at least some change, you lost it. I really did want there to be someone that would watch the forum while you were away, but now I understand that the best thing for the forum is your complete resignation. I don't give about your so-called "source." That janitor around the corner from Mike and Bryan's offices that funnels you bits and pieces doesn't scare me. It is most certianally not a very good reason for you to be calling the shots. Neither is you running Dongbufeng. Just because you have a insider and run a website doesn't make you god. You should be thrown out of your office as mod for the avatar forum because of your complete mishandling of the ice cream team, your ignorance of waste of time threads, and then your deleltion of all threads which don't sing your praises.

Delete this blog entry. Suspend me. Ban me. But I assure you: You don't have the people. Miroku does. And eventually, you'll find yourself on the street corner.

(breaths deep)

I think I'm gonna stay off the forum for a while...

Which is just as well. My fanfiction and all (boy are you all in for a suprise. Not telling you the ending.)

Yes, it'll be short.

I'm Back// Crazy(er than normal)// NOOOOO!

Hi all! I just got back from my grandparent's house and I'm itching to know what happened in my absence. Plz PM me about everything regarding the comicon and its aftermath (god, plz).

(edit: I put Nicasso here earlier. that was a typo.) FMA... banned?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO(O's continue on for a long time).

Bye Everyone

I'm gonna be gone for the next week. I'm going to be at my grampa and grandma's house, so I won't be online at all.

My fanfiction is progressing through my mind smoothly. If you missed any chapters, see my previous blog.

Avatar in Space Chapter 6.

Book 1, Chapter 6: "The Whirlwind"

"And the Spirits proclaimed: 'The Sky shall open above the Earth, so that the Sun may fall in.'"

-The Sacred Scrolls, The Book of End Times, 4:18

Part 1:

Zuko stormed into Zhao's small office and found his prey already waiting for him. The Avatar was in a cryo tube behind Zhao's modest desk. Zhao himself, Zuko was told, would be there shortly. Zuko's mind, however, was tired of waiting. The monk was in front of him and with a few shots of his pulse rifle on the glass; Zuko could have him halfway to the Fire Lord in a few hours. By then, Zuko thought, Zhao wouldn't ever know that...

"Prince Zuko, General Iroh! How pleasant of you both to stop by on my lovely colony." Zhao's personality, much to Zuko's dismay, was unchanged.

"Don't touch the Avatar's cryo tube..." Zhao warned, apparently unsettled by the proximity of Zuko's hand to his rifle. "We are still cleaning Zhe's remains out of the air ventilation system."

"So... here to beg, Prince Zuko, or do we have more decisive plans?" Zhao smiled.

"Actually," Iroh spoke up, "We're just here to beg."

The two men laughed heartily, but Zuko was silent.

"I'm not here to beg. Not to you. Give me the Avatar. I flushed him out of his hiding place in the Kyoshi System. You stole him from me." Zuko lunged threateningly towards Zhao, but Zhao pushed him back.

"Actually, I drew him out." Zhao affirmed "You'd be surprised what a couple starving villagers will do to ensure their lives are protected. Their leader was especially helpful in delivering the Avatar to me. You were just chasing ghosts in space, as usual."

Iroh placed his hands between the two. "Zuko. Commander Zhao. If you want to fight, do it later. I know the Kyoshi Warriors and they would never hand over the Avatar, especially to you, Commander Zhao."

Iroh turned to Zuko. "And you should take your defeat with honor."

Zuko went limp. The silent warrior turned away and walked out of the office. Iroh only heard his nephew say: "What honor?"

Part 2:

Katara slinked through the bowls of Zuko's ship, dreading what awaited her at the end of the tunnel.

"Sokka?" Katara whispered into the two-way wireless. "Sokka, answer."

"Where in the Hell are you, Katara?" Sokka seemed nervous over the radio.

"You know very well where."

"Oh. I'm still hoping this is just a bad dream. I'm probably gonna wake up any second."

"That's right, Sokka. Optimism. I've always said that that'll win the war."

Katara reached the end of the tunnel. Now was the hardest part. Five steel bars stood between her and her destiny. She had been waiting for the Avatar to return her whole life. And she was going to be damned if she didn't do something to stop Zuko and his firebending army from delivering some poor old man to the Devil himself.

Cold touched her neck. Katara looked up and smiled. Water.

Part 3:

Aang was awake. Those Fire Nation goons outside botched it. They botched cryo freezing someone. Aang still couldn't believe it. Sure, his body was frozen solid, but his mind... well... his mind was racing around. And as Mr. Big Sideburns and The Fat Man talked, Aang was learning more and more about... well everything. Mr. Sideburns has a daughter... that little detail might be useful in getting out of here. Never hurt to have a hostage. Names... names... names... Zhao, the sideburn man... Iroh, the fat man... Kami, the daughter... So those are the wonderful people who thawed me out.

I'll repay em back some time.

End of Chapter.

I wrote this one using the techniques that another fanfiction used. This is my best yet, especially the Zhao part. Please comment, I want to know I'm doing this the right way. Suggestions, as always, are encouraged.

+100 internets to the both of em!

Recently, I've been reading an avatar fanfiction. An adult avatar fanfiction. It has things in it that are so graphic that if I put a link to it here, I would probably be suspended again...

Anyway, I learned quite a bit from it, mostly what never to put in a fanfiction. The next chapter, "The Whirlwind," might be up today or tomorrow, depending on how long my boss doesn't remember that I was supposed to come in today (he usually calls by now... I think I'm off the hook.) It will deal with each and every character I will have in the story, so it will be long. Very long.

Hope everyone has a good day (for some reason, I'm not in my usually emo bad mood).
