Because it's Capcom's job to make sure the shotos (at least one, if not all) are the best characters in the game, probably. That seems to be their approach anyway.Fei Long And Cammy's Moves Not Being Simplified For SSFIV
I'm not sure how Fei Long and Cammy players are going to react to it, but one thing is for sure - I don't believe they'll be happy. Kinda odd, considering that Capcom implemented the shorcuts for moves like the Shoryukens, but not for moves like these. Odd...Metamania
Ono: "So, how's playtesting coming along?"
Tester: "Nobody is better than Ryu, so... I guess this means."
Ono: "That's all I needed, thank you. The game is ready for launch."
Eh, this doesn't bode well. Sort of reinforces my thought that Capcom isn't going to fix the issues from SF4 with the next game, they're just going to replace and/or enhance them. But, now there'll be bonus stages. *blows kazoo*
On a more positive note, don't worry about what the devs said about how Adon will be played or where he'll land in the tier listings. Of course they're going to predict he'll be a mid-tier character - any other admission is like them saying "we know this game has balance issues already." Plus, with that prediction, they won't be wrong by much no matter how things turn out.
Moreover, we're talking about the guys who, by admision, completely overlooked things like Sagat's 2X RH > Ultra. Point blank: these guys have little more than a clue as to what Adon will play like, how popular he will be, or how he'll stack up against the rest of the cast. Sure, they can tell you whether or not his moves will be hard to do, but that's no indication of how "easy" he'll be to use. Dan, for example, has moves that are "easy" to do, but he's not at all easy to win with.
On my gut instinct, based on my Alpha 3 experience, I predict that Adon is going to be a M-O-N-S-T-E-R in S4, and he'll replace Sagat as one of the most commonly used characters (Sagat use will fall noticeably when this happens). That said, I think the reason Adon will be so beastly will be because his moves simply lend themselves to winning play, and not because he will be superficially overpowered. In all likelihood, he'll be a very strong contender in the game with a MASSIVE user-base (if only because so many people will run him as an alt character). Even if Capcom gave us reason to believe they are in any way tuned in to what the actual players experience with SF4, they would still almost certainly be way off the mark with any predictions about his play styIe and tier ranking.
