I am actually a 1-months old PS3 noob. I already have COD4 and SF4, so I want to buy ONE platform game next week. So, which one is the best of four?

I played all of them in demos and my impression went like "ok, they're kind of overrated," but I've heard many of you said the real game is much better.

Here's my impression out of demo:

Star Wars Force > MGS4 > Wolverine > inFAMOUS

[QUOTE="Shin_Akuma01"][QUOTE="SF_KiLLaMaN"]get a ps3 if you can, better hardware and better exclusives.piercetruth34

I am 55% leaning toward that since someone in this forum confirms it suppors 16:10 without a problem.

Shin I've done exactly what you are. The 360 auto detects and fits the screen. The ps3 you have to adjust from within the game. It's not a big deal. you need the vga adaptor for the 360. Just get a hdmi to dvi cable for the ps3. Both work fine. The ps3 just takes a little more tinkering.

I think you made the right choice although you cant really go wrong either way.

Actually, I have HDMI to HDMI. It looks so amazing, but I think I miss some parts of the picture. If you have PS3, go download SF4 theme and put it to your wallpaper. Look for "CAPCOM" on the top left corner of your monitor. I only see "COM" while "CAP" is missing. I have to tune my monitor later.

Now it's official that I have PS3. I just bought it last night. Thank you for many posters who reply here (including fanboys :) ). It's really worth it and I don't really notice the difference between 16:9 to 16:10 aspect ratio.

Wow, I've learned so much a lot about reading a forum. I think this thread should be sticky for a newcomer to spot a fanboy and avoid him.

I am still trying to find a true quality post. I notice there are too many fanboys, so any advice how to spot one without falling for his trap?

Update: I'm 99% to go for PS3. The only 1% remains is that I don't have enough money yet. :p

[QUOTE="-Traveller-"]

[QUOTE="Shin_Akuma01"] The problem with me is that I don't have a source to obtain them for free. subrosian

Hmm try PMing Subrosian and see if he can give you the ways. I heard some of them and it really surprised me. If not, it'll run you $100 for the OS on newegg. It's the same for the 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

If you're in High School or College check with your Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or MIS programs - Microsoft has something called MSDN Academic Alliance which they use to partner with schools to distribute software at free or reduced prices. It's possible to obtain a license from the this way. Another possibility is to transfer a license from an older machine. A license is single-machine, NOT single-use. So, say you have an old computer with an XP license - you can borrow an XP disc, install XP, then use your license (you may have to call Microsoft to get them to do the activation) on the new machine. - A third possibility is that a number of high schools and colleges will provide free software to students who need it - not just through Microsoft, but through various other academic programs. You can try that way and see if you can get a license. You may also want to hit up businesses with a lot of computers, especially if they phase out older machines, and see if you can get a license from them. - Lastly, there's buying it - but if you're still in school, see if you can't get someone to give you a steep academic discount. Microsoft themselves, for example, made something called "the great steal" - where they sell the entire Office 2007 Ultimate bundle for $59.95 - don't know if it's still around, but they do similar deals all the time. The thing is - they're not heavily advertised - you need to talk to the right people. If all else fails, and you can't network any of these ways - try going to your local GameStop or Best Buy, and inquiring about their Microsoft representative. Microsoft reps service all of the retail kiosks - those guys will be able to put you in touch with people who can sometimes get you software discounts, freebies, and other such things. My local MS rep, for example, gives out games, accessories, Zune 30-day cards, and is friends with the people who decide what games go up on "community games". These guys are nerds - so if you're a gamer, they'll be pretty friendly towards you.

I'll have to ask my major advisor about that. Would it work if I go to a student service center to ask about it?

yeah I know it's amazing how PS3 outperformed 360 for the most people's preference on my decision. It just makes sense. lol
