Hmmm... you said your not too tech savvy :( that's a problem cause you could build a much better system for the price. What kinda of PC store did you go into?

You might want to try going to some Online sites that build computers. They tend to be cheaper than brick and mortar.

I build my buddies PC that had a decent Mobo, forget what kinda excactly.

AMD Phenom (2.2ghz version)

4gb of G-Skill ram.

Nvidia 9600 GT wich will blow that 8400 completely out of the water.

250gb HDD (you can get alot bigger for about 30-50bucks more)

Vista Home Premium.

20x DVD burner

We built this for like 960ish including shipping. This does not however come with mouse/keyboard or Monitor.

I would shop around some more though if you are afraid to build it yourself, that seems kinda high IMO for those specs.

If you want to put up with a bunch of immature little twits than yes, WoW is for you. However after playing AoC lastnight for a little while, I have to say you might want to consider trying it out. (I am not saying its better than WoW. Just something new to try)

Also on a much more n00b side. WTH does QFT mean?

[QUOTE="Johnny_Rock"]I remember the Anarchy Online launch.... Funcom hasn't come THAT far. I'm stayin faaaar away from this game for now.Johnny_Rock

Have you not read the thread? On a launch day there was no downtime, I was over 30 frames maxed out, and my ping was under 100ms.

Funcom has definitely made great strides in releasing a proper, stable MMO. If you still don't see that then there ulterior motives at work here...

And I think it's you that is stretching the truth, my friend...

Actually, no he is not, so stop hating you WoW fan and accept the fact that funcom had an amazing launch for a MMO. I played this game for about 5 hours straight with absolutely no crashes, no frame rate drops and was running max settings at 40+ FPS.

Yes that is what the Audysey sound set-up is. Can the optical even output the hi-def audio in PCM? or does it just pass standard Dolby and DTS in PCM? I know optical can't do 7.1 because of bandwidth issues not sure if it has same problems with HD audio.

Honestly if you are looking to upgrade receiver anytime soon get a tx-sr605 or 705, since both of these models has 1080p HDMI pass-through. I dont seem to have the dialogue issue when running audio through HDMI.

Did bumping up the center speaker seem to help any?

You might have to pay a little more but I would go with a Samsung or a Sharp Aquos. both are good TVs and are reasonably priced at the size you are looking for.

You do have it set to PCM right?

Also try turning the center speakers db level up some, since that is the speaker that outputs the dialogue.

Oh and what Onkyo receiver do you have?

If it is a newer model have you done the Audysey sound set-up?

Looks nice mate, love the blue lighting. How do you like the Apevia fan? I have some red led fans in mine that came with the case but they don't really push much air. Considering buying a couple of those Apevias.

FIrst off, do you have it hooked up to a reciever? if so just let it select the options itself. Are you using it for HI-DEF movies or just standard DVDs? If you are using it for Blu-ray then you want your audio set to output PCM if DVD then its user preference. There is a audio option that you can set that helps with the diologue volumes. Forget what its called though, but its there. I would just leave it set to PCM and you should not have the dialogue issue. FYI bitmapping is used if you are wanting to pass your audio through and let the reciever do the decoding. PCM has the PS3 do the decoding and then sending a uncompressed signal to the receiver. PCM is the only way you will be able to pass DolbyHD and DTS HD MA.

Hey I have the MSI P7N SLI Platinum board, (750i chipset) and have not had any issues out of it so far. The OCing was a bit tricky for me, but I'm new to the whole OCing thing, so it could just have been on my part.
