[QUOTE="DanielDust"]Raises hand. People complain about it and compare it to Steam most of the time, difference is, this is a "download manager", it downloads games, speed is very good "all the time" and you can run the games without it + you can add your retail games to it, so it's good.topsemag55

Agreed. I like the EADM for that reason - being allowed to run your games without it. Impulse and GamersGate are the same.

And another thing I like about it, is that the developers are constantly on the Suggestion forum, listening to what everyone has to say, and striving to improve the product accordingly.

[QUOTE="MyopicCanadian"][QUOTE="FelipeInside"] Not all maps, just a few selected modes. And CoD and BC2 are different games....no one is degrading nothing....FelipeInside

Not all maps have vehicles.. well some of them have only the UAV but thats not really that bad. Maybe find a no-sniping server and you're set.

Uhhhh, didn't know there were Non-sniping servers?

Does that mean the sniper rifles are actually BLOCKED?

There's lots of those servers. Just look for servers which state in the name: "No Snipers", "No Recon", or something similar.

Well, if your internet is the cause of the lag, every multiplayer shooter will give you lag. If it's your computer, then you need to play older games. The most popular shooters other than the ones you listed are COD2, COD, CSS, and BF2. Look into those and see if any suit you.

ish27

Uhh... CoD 1&2? Really? The games that no one plays?

The top V on steam right now are CS 1.6, CSS, Black Ops, Football Manager 2011(this worries me) and Civ V

Nothing personal, but you need an upgrade. That? That's just a dumb song my network provider made up to advertise themselves :D

[QUOTE="DanielDust"]No, this "is" how it works right now. If you don't log in a single time on your EA DM account (few mb download if you don't have it installed, log in for a sec, quit, uninstall) in 2 years, your games get disabled. When EA started digital distribution it was something about an year no idea if it was like this or an year even if you used your account, because I never saw an actual case even at that time and I know people that used it at launch and still had their games active one and a half years later.vkun

But I didnt even buy the game from EAs online store. I have the retail disc. I only registered the code with EADM to download the install files to my computer after I already registered the game through the game client. Are you saying they still have the right to terminate my EA account or games if I dont log on to EADM in 2 years?

Its not like I created an EADM account. I only logged into EADM with my already existing EA account which already had the said game tied to it. Does it say this in the TOU? I helped someone register their EA game purchased from Steam and hes not going to ever use EADM again.

I just had a pleasant chat with "Gavin", a member of the EA staff, and while I haven't established whether said person was a woman or a man, I have established one thing. Have a look:

[QUOTE="vkun"]

[QUOTE="Dantus12"]

Used it twice, and never again , had to deal with it for a friend that had Sims 3 problems. It's far from good.

Hope they changed the 1 year ownership of your game. But still:

Dantus12

WHAT 1 YEAR OWNERSHIP. Youre scaring me.

Well sorry.

It used to be like that. I don't know how it's now. What is known is that it was a very intrusive DRM. The manager was phoning home 24 times a day, creating conflicts with other managers and with the Nvidia NAM, the Nvidia Network driver part. It's CPU heavy, and from my experience the offline mode canbe used effectively only by disconecting your network, otherwise the processes are still running and creating performance issues.

It's your decision, maybe you wouldn't have any problems.

It's not a DRM. It's a download manager. You don't even need it to play games. If your account gets closed, the games installed stay on your computer, and you can still play them.

If you see the name "Intel" Anywhere near a gpu descrpition, don't even consider buying the Laptop. Through previous experiences, I know that those GPUs are complete S***.

Now back to Bad Company 2 :)

Just wanted to ask this question here on GS, because there is obviously no point in asking on the Steam forums.

How many of you here use the Electronic Arts Download Manager?

If you don't know what it is then:

http://www.ea.com/1/download-manager

Basically, it's useful for people like me, who buy games at retail, and with games like Dead Space 2, Crysis 2, Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 coming out, this might prove to be very handy indeed.
