I always went with Razer mice before, but I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the Logitech G9. Plus, they have the G35 headset, which is just bliss in for your ears. I am a huge audiophile for music, movies, and games. So, I figure the G35 would be a sure win. How about that Tritton set that boasts 4 speakers per ear? :o I would love to use it, but I do know there is an ocean of cables and cords to navigate, which is never good.

Has anyone here used the Razer Lachesis? My room mate is big on it, but I'm not so sure about an ambidextorous mouse...I'm left-handed, but, I have always used a mouse with my right.

I have heard rumblings that the 360 version of the game actually performs the best...:?
However, I'll also go out on a limb and say the game just sucks across all platforms. I bought it for 360 and took it back within the week. Silly story (obviously I won't spoil it in case you are still playing), bad graphics, glitchy sound, and an obnoxious "combo" system for the main character. You know, because he's supposed to be a military man.

I feel like I'm in some sort of special ed class trying to get Brutal Legend out of its case. I am all for protecting our resources, but, this seems like a half-assed and lame way to do it.

I doubt it, but you might be able to talk to a place that sells used games. The used ps3 game market hasn't really been keeping up w/ demand so many stores are lacking ps3 copies of many games. You might be able to workout a straight-up trade w/ the manager if they are short on ps3 copies, and have a ton of 360.

Especially if there is a local one (cough not gamestop cough) that is privately owned. There is one by my house, and I frequently trade games for anime collections, or cash for rare games. You just have the find the right person, really.

So, I finally built a new gaming rig (after 5 years of being relegated to only consoles) and I am curious about how Razer and Logitech have changed. Have their products even changed? I am in the market for a new mouse and headset. I traditionally liked the feel of razer, but that was a very long time ago. Is their death adder still their sort of standard? Also, how is the G35 headset from Logitech compared to Razer's Megalodon? It's just been too long, and I don't remember some of these things

Oh, and please don't start a flame war :D

Ah, I remember the days when Steam was first launched. Oh, the joys of installing Half-Life 2 on launch day (all 5 cd's of course  ), then waiting for steam to unlock the files, then waiting for steam to verify the files. THEN, launching it for the first time, and waiting for steam to update the files. You learn to live with it. Go heat some Ravioli while the ps3 is updating and think of the joys of classic steam.

Is it honestly a good comparision between X3 and Eve Online? I used to play Eve, but had to cut it off, as my budget in college wasn't too fond of that monthly fee. X3 looks like Eve, except not an MMO. If this is the case, I'd be very interested in the game. Plus, it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Wow guys, thanks for all the replies. I have been finishing up all of my finals, and just got back home yesterday. I wanted to answer a few questions I saw. I DO need to budget for a monitor, but I don't care if it's basic, so long as it looks decent and doesn't burn out in a year. Also, I talked to Fry's, and they charge $60 on top of the cost of the parts and the installation of windows 7. So, basically, hardware plus $60.

AMD sounds great. I was looking, and the 5850 seems to fit all of my needs. Since my birthday is not too terribly far, I can always upgrade my video card then, or add a second one 8)

Is 4gb of DDR 3 enough for most of the games out now?
