you really shouldn't worry about that. the main things you should look for

1) Which has the games you want

2) Which does your friends have (for online gaming purposes)

Halo 3 pretty much rapes everything. It really does. People here just wont admit that because

A) they havent played the game

B) they're too cool to admit they like halo

for the most part.

A) I have played it and it's nothing special. Linear and predictable storyline. Halo lost its touch after the first one.

B) What PC FPS have you played? Counterstrike? Half life? Crysis? Fear? These imo of course are better than Halo 3 in every way.

What's wrong with a linear shooter? I don't like corridor shooters, but halo has rather large environements and lots of ways to go about doing things.

And for notable pc shooters this gen: HL2, HL2: Episode 1, TF2, Stalker, Hellgate, Bioshock. I only played the demo of Fear and Combat, im not a fan.

What's wrong? Why can't I call a 9.5 shooter the best game this generation? Why can't I call a game I played for nearly a year now and im not exactly stopping the best game this gen?

I really dont understand why you say what PC FPS, either. PC fps aren't exactly above console fps anymore. Long gone are the N64 days.

Halo is easily the best fps this gen, no doubt in my mind. I think it might have to do with a barrier you have to break. For example, so you can relate, TF2 (or at least for me). Initially I thought it sucked. Then I got used to it and it sort of grew on me and I started to really like it.

And you know, a major part of fps is mp- you can't do local co-op on the pc and i doubt you know anyone who actually games online on the pc with the particular game you like

dont forget, MS has some tricks up their sleeves as well, I bet theyll show off Bungie's game, ninja blade, announce forza 2 and maybe pgr5, and probably some other stuff id imagine.
