There's a simple reason for this, DICE stated that the "Low" and "Ultra" settings were not implemented in the beta, so when playing with all settings on Low, you were really just playing on Medium with anti-aliasing turned off, and on Ultra you were really just playing on High with 16x anti-aliasing turned on. In the full game, the difference between highest and lowest settings will probably be much more noticeable.

It looks amazing overall but they should have found a way to include a second set of shoulder buttons (L2 and R2). That would have given the Vita control parity with a PS2 or PS3 controller.

Seems weird which games GS chose to compare it to for graphics. Killzone 2 and 3 look amazing but CoD's visuals haven't really improved since 2006; the CoD devs are so obsessed with making it run at 60 frames per second that they don't give it a chance to look nice. Crysis 2, on the other hand, allows for occasional slowdown but overall it runs smooth and is the best looking console shooter ever, or close to it.

considering how great the graphics are in Fallout 3 it's weird that they used the same water effect from Morrowind. trust me, go back and play Morrowind for ten minutes and splash around in the water a bit. they're exactly the same.

i liked the lighting in Gears 1 better. in Gears 2 it saturates everything, giving it all the same uniform bright tone and making it impossible to discern shadows.

Xbox 360 Victory! Actually I'll still give the PS3 the benefit of the doubt since most games are developed first on 360 then translated onto ps3 hardware, which is bound to create some problems with the ps3 version since the game is optomised for 360 first. For this reason, only comparing games that come out on both system might not be quite fair. A better comparison would be to compare the best-looking 360 exclusives with the best-looking ps3 exclusives, since then both games are designed for their respective hardware.

this is a good article, but the only time I have ever experienced what they are talking about is in Oblivion. All the character models are extremely realistic but all the females have man-faces at the same time. Creepy.
