It would be interesting to see Crytek attempt to pull off a large-scale team based Battlefield-type shooter. Though I suppose Warface and Homefront 2's MP might already be something like that
@RedWave247 @PodXCOM Different genres would still allow for stylized vs non-stylized graphics. Just because a console is capable of photorealism, doesn't mean developers would be forced to make their games look a certain way.
@TruthTellers @chikahiro94 Common misconception. Sony doesn't own Blu-ray and MS wouldn't have a problem with them if they wanted to include Blu-ray with a future console. Also, flash memory is much, much more expensive than disc storage. A 50 gb blank Blu-ray disc only costs about $1, whereas 16 gb of flash memory costs about $20. I very much doubt this will change within only 2 years.
@DrKill09 Too soon? The next Xbox has likely been in development since at least 2010; MS is capable of learning from their mistakes just like any company, and you'll bet that they want to avoid another $1 billion hardware debacle. They wouldn't be doing everyone a "favor" by dropping out of the console business, it would only be a favor the PC elitists and Sony fanboys.
Noooooo! Why did GameSpot have to change the comment system? This isn't Facebook, this is an online gaming forum! If someone posts something stupid or elitist or inflammatory, I want to be able to thumb them down! mrrrrrr
The hard drive-less 360s have been a huge screw-up on MS's part. Next generation, MS needs to include a hard drive with every single Xbox they sell. A gaming machine needs a hard drive to work properly, PS3 games are able to implement things like texture streaming because every PS3 has a hard drive, the devs don't have to worry about accommodating any "Core" or "Arcade" systems.
