No more pointless corridors, no more pointless dead ends, don't make people do things they have absolutely no way to come up with, and if you're going to throw in random battles don't make me fight one for every freaking step I take.

[QUOTE="Giancar"]Tingle!wooooode
By far the most annoying character in any game.

He's actually pretty useful in Wind Waker if you have the tingle tuner and the GBA to use it.

yeah...and they were playing in the mushroom kingdom. An area with hazards like pirana plants.poster

So what? 10 freaking stocks under the time limit as opposed to a 3 stock match going into freaking sudden death. And if by bringing up the fact the smash 64 match was on mushroom kingdom you're reffering to the walk off edges, guess what? The Brawl match would still go by slower on a stage like that. And the stage hazards weren't that big, stage hazards that make matches go by faster are like the ones on stage like Norfair, Warioware, and Flatzone 2.

Woah! I can understand that melee is more competitive...but smash64 being more competitve than brawl? It's even slower and you can't even air dodge or charge smash attacks :/poster

Didn't I show you a 10 stock Smash 64 match go by faster than 3 stock Brawl match before? And no airdodging is better than Brawl's airdodge, you had to use air attacks to interrupt combos and wisely use your 2nd jump to get out of them and charging smash attacks doesn't add that much, it's only useful for punishing whiffed laggy moves, which is rare when playing competent players.

Maybe to thse who delve into the advanced gameplay mechanics of melee/brawl.

But on the surface it seems alot like melee 2.0.

Casuals aren't the only people who play Smash.

Emulation is best on PCs, but it isn't as bad on consoles as they make it out to be. There's plenty of good homebrew devices with emulators made for them.

After attending a Melee tournament (my first one), I plan on going to Melee tournaments more often.

Fighters: Like Yahtzee said, fighter are the only genre where you can practice for years to get the nuances of a certain character and then play with a random noob and die. In RTS games, that NEVER happens and in FPSes I've never seen it happen...only heard stories about it... In fighters you could be the most amazing player with a character and then run into someone who spams a few attacks and lose. I think fighters have a high luck percentage.

Where did you get this idea? Experience doesn't automaticly make you a good player if you don't gain enough from it, I've never witnessed a noob beat a pro in Melee, and for spawns in shooters just change the ruleset or pick a different mode, in Cod you avoid that stuff by playing S & D.
