I didn't expect much of anything, and while there was some jank and awkwardness (similar to HZD) the game was an amazing experience overall.

Days Gone > Uncharted 4 easily IMO

I'm playing through it as well, and I can agree with this statement.

Days Gone isn't a bad game, but it's not amazing either. It's a solid 7-8 game. And that is fine, especially since it's $40 or less now. Worth the Price of admission IMO. It's biggest issue is that it doesn't push any boundaries game play or story wise, I think the Hordes were supposed to do this but they are few and far between, and you never run into a horde. What would have been cool is if you were randomly traversing the world and all of a sudden BAM horde. But that's not how the game works.

The game sold very well, which is great for the developers. The game is made well and they deserve it. So for the fans maybe there will be a sequel, or Bend Studios at least gets a shot at making another game.

EDIT*

Been playing the game today and just ran out into a wondering Horde.........Holy crap. Took a while to finally run into one, but it happened.

That's my biggest gripe with the switch. The games are over priced and never go on sale!

BOTW is still $60. It's crap.

Going to play some more Days Gone. Finally got into playing it after buying it on sale for $20 back in January.

It's a solid AA open world game so far.

@br0kenrabbit: Or you know people with kids and a mortgage to pay. Since $1,500 is a mortgage payment for the month, or you know spending that money on your family.

What an out of touch answer you gave. I get it, if you're rich sure $1500 isn't a lot of money, or even if you make decent money and live by yourself, sure go ahead and pay that much for a toy.

But $1500 is a lot of money to some people....especially people with families and responisbilites other than playing video games. grow up dude

I went to a regional retailer the other day and they had a few Switch Lites and regular models for sale still.

Should I buy them and re-sell them?

I think Sony is trying something new to advance games with minimal/no loading times. I think that's going to be their gimmick for the new gen. HOWEVER

They've obviously put a lot of R&D into that new SSD, it's a custom component and it's probably not cheap. Sony has to save costs, thus a less powerful GPU/CPU. I think Sony is trying really hard to release a $400 console or at best be $50 less expensive than the Series X.

@sovkhan:That's an interesting take, however, I think all forms of gaming compete with one another because at the end of the day someone's time is being taken up by their platform of choice. (Streaming movies and TV also competes)

@Grey_Eyed_Elf: I kinda agree, but there are "Pro" versions of each console, some of them offer upgrade-able options, and they offer features that not everyone has access to like HDR, 4K, and Surround sound support. I think when someone puts in the time and money to get the most out of the console they enter closer to an enthusiast level of gaming.

@Telekill: I'm going to have to disagree.

With the PS2 generation I feel like everything was more plug and play. You had a CRT and AV cables boom that was it. There also wasn't a competing platform for games that took away from the console market. You had PC and handhelds, but now we have mobile phones and tablets that are without a doubt taking place the role traditional consoles used to have with younger kids/pre teens.

I think a tier system is definitely showing up in gaming, much like with Home Theater Set ups.

Casual Market: Sound Bars

Entry Level: All in one Box HT Systems

Mid Teir: $300-$600 AV Receivers with separately purchased 5.1 or 7.1 or above speakers.

Enthusiast: $1000 plus AV Receivers with speakers worth thousands of dollars together.
