@Random_Matt: I have no idea, I can't get a screen to show up to access bios.

I'm thinking either the CPU or motherboard might be dead, since all of my original parts still work and I have a functioning PC when I put it back together with the old parts

So I've been out of PC gaming since about 2015, I built a rig in 2012 and it eventually became a more of a video editing PC. But now I want to do some light gaming as well today.

So I decided to build a rig out of my old parts, and upgrade parts incrementally along the way. I started with a new mother board and CPU.

However when I made the switch, I get no output to a monitor to see the BIOS set up. I double checked all my connections, swapped out ram to different slots, had a new cmos battery in, re-seated the graphics card, tried HDMI and DVI connections.......no amount of troubleshooting was giving me a signal.

I ended up putting back my original motherboard and CPU and everything works fine. So I know it's not a PSU issue.

Any thoughts? Specs for each machine below:

Original 2012 Rig :

Phenom X6 1100T Black Edition

HD 6970

1TB HDD

16GB Corsair DDR3 Ram

Asus AM3+ Motherboard

850watt Thermaltake Power Supply

New Parts I wanted to change :

Ryzen 5 1600

8GB Vengance DDR4 Ram

Cooler Master 212 Heat Sink

Asus Prime B350+ Motherboard

The Outerworlds. Bought it on the PSN store during the Spring Sale.

Would have loved to have gotten a physical copy, but trying to social distance as best as possible

@Pedro: @ronvalencia: @SecretPolice:

I've played plenty of games this gen that had forced player slowdown techniques like I have mentioned in my previous post.

Even in RDR and RDR 2, heck even RDR 2 has limited travel options. Wonder why?

@hardwenzen: You're missing the point at what Cerny and other devs have been saying completely. It's not about faster load screens, it's about how worlds, open or linear are designed.

In games today, there are always "elevator rides, slow walks, and crevasses to crawl through" to slow the player down so the game can load in the area; and nearly all games are designed to do this, so developers have to put these in.

With a fast SSD developers wouldn't have this limitation anymore. So an open world could be truly seamless without any forced player slow down created by the devs.

@AcidTango: I personally think it's Zelda TP. I feel like it was a major disaster event in System Wars, I don't think the sheep population every recovered.

Those two Zelda games are not very good games at all. They are both very hand holdy, and they both seem so uninspired. Wind Waker and BOTW are way better and it's not even close. I feel like people that call TP their favorite game, or favorite Zelda game are in denial.

MGS4 getting a 10 was another big one.

Wolfenstein - Any of them, I tried to play one and my god what a boring and bland game play loop. The shooting feels awful and generic.

DMCV- It's not a bad game, but it's really easy compared to 1 and 3, and the puzzles are really bad. In the previous games I got a sense of being able to get lost, and have a sense of needing to explore, V doesn't give me that feeling.

Oh wow its still officially selling at $299, that is 2016 price. Really needs a price cut.

That's what I've been saying for a while, I can't believe the PS4 Slim isn't $199. I feel like in generations past, the $199 was the price point a lot of people were waiting for to dive into a console. Especially if there's a bundle with a pack in game or 2.

I think if Sony would do that the PS4 could get a last second boost in terms of sales. As much as the PS2? Probably not, but it could get damn close.
