FYI, GameTrailers has a couple of video interviews. For sure this is the future, but I'm really curious how they've gotten around classic online gaming issues like latency? Put it this way: Quake Live is a similar idea (game runs from your browser, most of the actual work is offloaded onto the servers), but that's running an pretty old game engine, not something with super-hires textures or massive game logic.

why do people not realize that it was a tech demo on consoles. Obviously its not going to look as good, but those phsyics on consoles would be awesome.navstar29
I also wonder what platform the videos are showing? The video I saw didn't clarify, but had both PS3 and 360 icons at the start. Obviously it doesn't look as good as the PC version (a bit less detailed than what I can run it at), but hey, it looks plenty good compared to most console games, and hopefully the gameplay will be spot-on.

The link worked for me. It's interesting at the top it only says Playstation 3 demo. Maybe they had something to prove after all the uneducated said Killzone 2 looked better than Crysis. That was actually Crysis they were playing too. I wonder if they really are going to make Crysis for the PS3. That would be awsome.

Didn't you notice the "Xbox360" symbol on the left hand side at the start? So far looking good. Not really on par with Crysis on a decent PC rig (most noticeably in the jungle scenes), but still pretty darned good. What's interesting is the city-like scene, I really hope they put out a new game instead of just "Crysis: Console Edition".

It's funny, I just beat the game a few minutes ago and noticed this thread. It was an okay game, but I'll be trading it in while it's still worth something. For anyone interested, it's a rental, but there's nothing compelling to make me want to keep it and play through again. At least in Fallout 3, I could see huge unexplored areas on my map that I know will hold some interesting goodies. For Fable 2, I have little interest in buying out towns, getting a family, etc, which seem to be the only things left for me to do.

I know I'm looking forward to it (see sig)....but Todd Hollosten (sp?) recently said it's not coming out in 2009, so this thread might be a tad premature. Can't wait for new info, though, and I've never seen those awesome concept art pictures!

The first time I ran into a Cyberdemon in Doom. I mean, I literally ran into him. And the "fwushook...BOOM!...splat!" sound has stayed with me ever since.

I would suggest either Team Fortress (generic version, I'm not going to debate whether the old Quake versions were more or less influential than Team Fortress Classic) and/or Return to Castle Wolfenstein for successfully introducing team based multiplayer with distinct classes, and were more than just team deathmatch. Edit: Just noticed Tribes and CS, which are arguably more influential, although TF was around during the Q2 days.

[QUOTE="whatisazerg"]

NOPE! lets revisit this when KZ2 has a BILLION online games played.

actually.... lets not, even if KZ2 managed to reach that many played games, it still wouldnt matter because HAlo3 will be that much farther ahead by then and besides....

9.5 >>>>>>9.0

PrinceofSarcasm

its just one review. Im asking the general opinion of users

TC, I can see this thread hasn't gone the way you had planned (or hoped). The basic consensus is: 1) Halo 3 has a higher overall score on GameRankings/Metacritic, which combines scores from multiple sources. 2) Halo 3 sold more copies. 3) Halo 3 continues to have more players online to this day (hence the general opinion of users). Now personally, CoD4 trumped Halo 3, and neither has ever been in the same league as TF2, but KZ2 is a great game so just go enjoy and get over bitter feeling towards Halo!

Linked was removed from YouTube, but if it's the same Sony POS video I'm thinking of, check out The Onion. Edit: It's back.
