Why are people getting h3ll bent about the dynamic lighting? The game *does* do dynamic lighting, but they decided to apply pre-rendered shadows in Rage to areas where it would have little benefit to render them dynamically (I'm guessing things like the cliffsides, etc). The game looks fantastic, but I'm hoping for some more "meat" to be shown at Quakecon.

It would be awesome if they allowed you (free or otherwise) to patch L4D1's levels into L4D2, kinda like Rockband did. That way you would have all the levels available under one "hood". As for the preview the game sounds like it's shaping up nicely, but I'm on the fence if I will buy it ASAP (like I did for the first one).

Didn't UT3 on the PS3 have full mod support (via PC development, of course)? I only had a bit of time to play with Kodu yesterday, and it's pretty neat. One big question I still have though is : Can you share levels/games with others, or is it limited to co-op? The one thing that impresses me about LBP is how easy it is to share levels with others.

Didn't PS2 get some of it's best titles near the "end" of it's term, once it was "maxed out"? If yes, the maxing out of this gen can't come soon enough...

The sense of entitlement is strong with some people...Didn't Valve sponsor dedicated servers for L4D when people complained about how many would be needed for a 4-player game, even on the 360? Didn't they release the Survival Pack? Seriously, Valve can probably do better than you freeloaders. Want to know why I bought L4D? Because I spent over 8 hours playing a 15 minute demo over-and-over. Not because of a promise of future content (almost always a bad sign for a game at release). I'll just accept whatever Valve plans on doing with their franchises, as they almost always do them justice and it is truly thankless work. Ever look at the TF2 forums whenever new content is released? Nary a "Thank you", just a bunch of whiny posts about how they "broke the game" or "OMG overpowerrrrrred". If I was Valve, I probably would have got out of the free update business a long time ago...

Still don't see the appeal of this game. Took 4 attempts to get into a survival game and then it's just more of the same mindless pointless shooting and meleeing. I'm left still wondering what all the fuss is about

I half-agree about the new mode not "wowing" me. The Survivor mode is more or less just a re-tuned "final stage showdown" with the AI Director on crack. On the other hand, it's free and provides a good challenge that the regular final stages don't really provide anymore. And I still love huntin' me some zombies.

1. It would be huge...for System Wars. 2. It's as unlikely to happen as ever. 3. I still wouldn't buy it, unless MS hired a legit editor to streamline Kojima's verbal diarrhea. I don't have an issue with large swaths of cutscenes...but I do when a good number of them suck.

Hellgate was killed by (a) a horrible demo and (b) bugs bugs bugs. I was in the beta around the same time the demo launched. Despite the bugs, the actual game was a ton more fun than the demo let on. After playing the beta though, I decided I'd pick it up after the bugs were cleared up...but I guess that must have taken too long because I never bought it.
