Poor Pathetic Me

In the next few days I'll be posting "Top Best" blogs. Topics will range from the games themselves to the characters.

I was able to see the Microsoft Conference yesterday, and unlike the rest of ya, I'm not jumping for joy. I was excited about the new trailer for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts n Bolts however. Other than that, all they talked about was everything that goes onto Xbox Live. I'm tired of hearing it! Not all of us have the money or capabilities to use online play and such! I have dail-up since they can't get DSL out here in this poor excuse for a country side! C'mon folks! Online isn't everything, plus you know they're just ripping off the Miis!

I haven't seen the Sony and Nintendo conferences yet, though I heard Nintendo's sucked with the exception of GTA for the DS. Can't wait! I would watch more of the coverage on my G4 recordings, but my damn remote is on the fritz and Dish Network isn't the best. Like I said, can't wait it online because I don't have DSL. Takes forever to load a full video on here! UGH! *bangs head* I'm always F***ing behind!

-Knuckles and Scorpion will now kick your @$$.

Of Birthdays, Bikinis and E3

I've already commented about it and PMed him, but today is Thug2Wasteland's 16th B-day! If you catch him today, show the brotha some love!

I will have my review of DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball soon. Great game, not too much to offer though.

And of course, today starts coverage of E3 '08! G4 will be showing live coverage from the show all week long. I'll be tuning in with a season pass recording just in case I miss anything. If you have G4, tune all this week and get the latest word on new titles and other games you've been waiting for. I've got my eyes on quite a few including Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Chronicles. I don't have my hopes up as this may never happen, but I'm hoping Sega will announce a third Jet Set Radio. Who knows, E3 is always full of surprises.

A Great Day, A Trove of Games and A Rant

Well my time of celebration has come to an end, but yesterday was the BEST! We went to see Hancock, and it was pretty good. I'm a big fan of Will Smith.

But the best news is of the many games I got at the newly established Play N Trade. I didn't get GTAIV which is crazy I know, but I thought to myself that it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. So what if I'm the last guy to play it. These games would soon be come in a heartbeat if I didn't swoop in there!

Soul Calibur 3 (PS2)
Star Wars KOTOR (Xbox)
Road Rash 3D (PS1)
Prince of Persia Warrior Within (Xbox)
The Warriors (Xbox)
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (Xbox)
Leisure Suit Larry Magna Cum Laude (Xbox)
SSX 3 (Xbox)
XIII (Xbox)
Jade Empire: Collector's Edition (Xbox)
Elder Scrolls Morrowind Game of the Year Edition (Xbox)
Indiana Jones and the Emporers Tomb (Xbox)
RoboCop versus The Terminator (Genesis)
Ren and Stimpy: Stimpy's Invention (Genesis)
Batman Forever (Genesis)

Amazing games all around and I haven't even played them all yet! My friend got the rare Brooktown High for his PSP. No worries y'all, I'll have GTAIV in no time, but until then these will keep me busy and I'll have a bunch of reviews in the near future.

Now I've played DOA3 before and was somewhat oblivious to the lucious women and more focused on the fighting. Now admit that I am sort of a pervert, but not as bad as my friends. When playing DOA Xtreme, I don't think it's all about babes in thong bikinis (ok a sorta do), but the beauty of the female body and spirit and how something as simple as a beach vacation can bring many together in a sisterhood. Crazy I know, but I have my philosophy.

But I ask, does playing a game like this make me a sexist, perverted pig? ScFiCat's newest Loose Buttons strip shows a pic of Nintendo characters in the developing hands of Tecmo and Team Ninja. I think to myself, am I liking it because Zelda's wearing a thong forged from the TriForce or because it seems like a good idea? I may never know. We all have those perverted urges once in a while. I will continue to play DOAX, no matter what people think.

Thanks to my bro Thug2Wasteland for the new banner (which won't upload for some reason!) and hopefully soon I'll find a new icon. If not, I'll keep the current.

-Love, peace and hair greese!

Makeover...so to speak

Yesterday was great. Thanks to everyone who wished me a good one.

I've been thinking of changing up my icon and perhaps my banner. If not the banner than at least the icon. No worries, I'm not giving up on Knuckles, Knuckles forever! I just wanna try something new. What should I do? Give me a hand, many of you should know what I like. Decisions suck! XD

My Day

Today's my 16th B-Day folks!

I still don't have my driver's permit, but who cares! I feel great!

Gonna have a cook-out celebration with the fam tonight, open my presents and such. Saturday we're going into Knoxville as a night on the town. Hit the shops, go see a movie, ect.

Wish me and good one y'all. Have a nice day.

Crossover Madness

I like crossovers. I can't wait for Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. I like to write/type stories and fanfiction. For my next project, I wanna submit some crossovers. I created a list of many ideas, some acceptable and others that sound crazy, but can work with the right storytelling. Here they are...

Note: The "vs" term is used for all for now, but each will be given a title later.

Sonic & Knuckles vs Alien & Predator: I good combination if I've ever seen one. Sonic helps GUN battle an Alien hive while Knuckles is hunted by a Predator warrior on Angel Island.

Mortal Kombat vs Spawn: Think, both universes are dark and gorey. Now while it would be compatible for a game, the story would mainly be Scorpion vs Spawn.

Mortal Kombat vs Predator: Sub-Zero vs Predator with it ending with Scorpion vs Predator. Nuff said.

Mortal Kombat vs F-Zero: MK has a diverse cast of characters and so does F-Zero. In fact, F-Zero has been compared to a comic book. I think the two chaotic worlds would converge nicely.

Sonic vs Mario: Many have tried before. I wanna give a go.

Splinter Cell vs Hitman: I thought of this in Eighth Grade. After finding a man he was supposed to extract dead, Sam must hunt down 47.

Splinter Cell vs Predator: Two stealth masters battling it out.

Far Cry vs Predator: When playing Far Cry, I felt like I was in the setting for Predator and that Jack Carver was the Predator.

The Suffering vs Aliens: Torque delt with the malefactors of Carnate Island, I think it'd be cool to pit him against the ultimate horrors.

The Suffering vs Far Cry: Both Torque and Jack Carver are super human and would make for a great match-up.

Boba Fett vs Predator: Uhhhh...I thought it would be cool *runs from rabid Star Wars fans*

Timesplitters vs Aliens: More sci-fi. Yay sci-fi.

Twisted Metal vs Grand Theft Auto: I think this would work! Niko, worried about his soul, tries to save Liberty City when the Twisted Metal tourny comes to town.

Sonic vs Rayman: The two hippest dudes in platforming.

Freddy vs Eddie: An idea I've had since like Fifth Grade. Freddy Krueger versus the mascot of Iron Maiden, Eddie.

Samus & Master Chief vs Aliens: It could work, plus it's Samus and Master Chief. Rock on.

FLCL vs South Park: Ok, WTF did I smoke?

FLCL vs The Boondocks: Yeah I was tired when writing these down. Have no plot info.

The Simpson vs Family Guy: It has to happen sometime.

Destroy All Humans vs Predator: I thought it would work and be comical.

Jet Set Radio vs Contents Under Pressure: Two excellent graffiti games.

Zelda vs Aliens: Link versus the Xenomorphs. Kick @$$.

Resident Evil vs The Suffering: An idea from Seventh Grade. The Suffering's Torque teaming up with my favorite RE surviver, Rabecca Chambers.

Rocket Power vs As Told by Ginger: Yeah I like cartoons and did like these Nick classics. Morons had to cancel them for new crap.

Spider-Man vs Predator: Hmmmm...

Shinobi vs Ninja Gaiden: Niiiiiiinjas!

Star Fox vs Aliens: Most likely to be a psuedo-sequal to Samus & Master Chief vs Aliens.

The Phlebiac Brothers vs Aliens: Spawn's The Violator and his brothers versus Alien. The Spawn comics have made many references to the Alien movies.

FLCL vs Jet Set Radio: Both are obscure and cool. Plus they both seem to be in the same setting.

Jurassic Park vs Aliens: Don't look at me like that. I have a good story for it! It has something to do with the InGen and Weyland-Yutani companies.

Shadow the Hedgehog vs Aliens: The sequal to Sonic & Knuckles vs Alien & Predator. Shadow goes all out with guns again!

Mortal Kombat vs Soul Calibur: Just thought of it.

Spy vs Spy: Oh wait...

There you go. Hope you like anyt of them. So what can you do? Well I ask that you choose five crossovers and vote. I'll tally the votes and the five top voted will be made into a fanfic. I'm gonna try to type all of them, but just wanna focus on five for now.

I'll post the five winners next blog. Thanks.

Twas a Great Day

I hope all my friends here at GS had a great 4th of July. Mine was certainly full of surprises!

We arrived at Kingston City Park at 5:00. For about an hour we walked around, checking out the vendors and the high octane boat races. I even met up with friends, aquaintences and even teachers from school. It was pretty mellow, but exciting.

Now what really was the high part of the day (other than the fireworks) was the big storm that roled it. While it sounds bad, it was awesome! We got soaked trying to find our truck which was like a mile away. The band was still rocking out, with the wind blowing around the venue tarp like an encore song for Guitar Hero! It was wild and fun.

Eventually the storm passed and we still had our big fireworks display at 9:30. There were fireworks shaped like hearts and smiley faces. What a day!

Now that is passed and up next on July 10th is my 16th B-Day! Can't wait.

As usual, I'll continue my activity on GS. Talk with friends, make more blogs, review games. Duh.

Again, hope y'all had fun and God Bless.

Happy 4th

Happy 4th of July everyone. I hope you all have a great time with friends and family. Me and the fam are going to have a cook-out and then go see the big firework show in town!

And to think I'll be turning 16 in six days. Now I know you're not supposed to give gifts on the 4th, but my gift to all of you is my review of Predator Concrete Jungle. Ah that Predator, killing for sport. A true American hero! LOL

Be safe and God Bless.

Good n' Bad Art

I'm an artist, not a great one, but an artist none the less. I have a profile on the site deviantART. Here's one of my best pics...

I did that over the school year in my sketch book. I was bored and for a while I had this idea of Luigi and Knuckles teaming up.

My art form isn't the best, but I like it for its cartoony feel. I usually draw fan art for games and some crazy original stuff.

Hollywood Adaptations

With every hit film usually comes a game adaptation. With every hit video game, eventually comes a movie adaptation. Both situations are neither good nor bad. It depends on how big of a fan you are. First up, here are my top five best video game/film adaptations...

5. Hitman: Released in Fall of last year, it starred Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47. After a supposed failed assassination on a Russian leader, clone assassin 47 must find out why his attempt failed, all the while protecting a prostitute named Nika. This was a pretty good film and remained somewhat true to the game. However, it did have flaws such as 47 having a love interest.

True story actually. When Hitman came out, my mother tried to sneak me in while she and the fam went to see Fred Clause. I was almost through the previews when the **** who sold us the ticket caught me. He made me switch the ticket over to go see Bee Movie. I was mad at first, but then I felt better as my older brother took me to see it two days later. Now I look back on the event and laugh.

4. Resident Evil: I'm ok with the RE series, and the films aren't that bad. Good zombie action, usually a comic relief. My favorite by far is Extinction. Nuff said.

3. Sonic the Hedgehog: Although it was a straight to video release, this animated adaptation of everyone's favorite hedgehog proved to be the closest incarnation of the games than any other Sonic media. Looking back at it, the story seems like a light-hearted version of the one seen in Sonic '06. Eggman captures Princess, releases Metal Sonic and it's Sonic, Tails and Knuckles to the rescue! This movie was fun.

2. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within: I haven't seen Advent Children, but the Spirits Within is just as good. Sure it wasn't adapted from a FF game, but the movie proved to be a big hit in the genre of Sci-Fi and one of the first movies to use full CGI (as seen recently in Beowulf). In fact, I believe all game films should use full CGI. It would be better than using actors who look nothing like the character.

1. Mortal Kombat: The very first film to prove that video games can make it in Hollywood! Mortal Kombat was martial arts action at it's best, with Robin Shou perfecting the role as Liu Kang. The movie made the already popular fighting series even more of a phenomenon, complete with a techno theme song that is still popular to this day! The film's story revolved around MK1 with elements and characters from MK2. It was followed up by a sequal in 1997, called Mortal Kombat Annhillation. The film was based on MK3, but was poor. Many actors from the first film didn't return and the fight sequences were short and crappy. Now, the director known as Mink is working on a third film which has been in developement for over a decade. The film plans to reinvent the MK universe as well as make Sub-Zero the hero. The movie's hopefull release date is 2010.

MORTAL KOMBAT!

There are many games in line for a film, The Suffering being one of them (can't wait!). Here are a few games I'd like to see become a hit in the box office...

1. Twisted Metal: The carnage is enough to get this game onto the big screen! Even co-creator Scott Campbell said he'd want to see a Twisted Metal movie. If ever a reality, I'd like to see Micheal Clark Duncan as Axel.

2. TimeSplitters: Sci-Fi's a great genre and TimeSplitters is perfect for that genre! However, the aspect of Time Travel would have to be well thought out for the film, instead of them hopping all over the place!

3. Final Fantasy X: FFVII may be the big hit, but FFX has always been my favorite of the series. It's epic enough to become a trilogy like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars! But who would play Tidus? More importantly, who would play Wakka?!

4. SSX: The best in snowboarding with interesting characters and a great concept. SSX would be awesome! Nuff said.

5. Zelda: Not much to explain. It's a beautiful and epic series and we're tired of fake trailers.

That's all I can think of for now. How about you? Just comment and let me know! But not before you read this next section!

Next up is a small list of films I'd like to see become a game!

1. A Clockwork Orange: I've only recently seen this film. It was weird but good! I can see Rockstar Games working on it just like they did with The Warriors.

2. Purple Rain: Yes, I am a Prince fan. This game would probably play out like Guitar Hero and be more of a collection of Prince songs (like Aerosmith) instead of a movie adaptation. Still be good though.

3. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: I liked this movie, honestly I did. It'd be cool to see a Lego version. Traveller's Tales will probably release it in a few months like they did with Lego Star Wars.

Again, let me hear ya! Post what movies you'd like to see become games.

And speaking of adaptations, I got Predator Concrete Jungle for Xbox. Should have a review up in a few days.
