Dream of an Absolution-Silver the Hedgehog

A new up and comer in the Sonic series is Silver the Hedgehog. This character introduced telekenesis to the franchise.

Silver first appeared in Sonic '06 (which was good by the way!). A hedgehog from the future, Silver along with Blaze the Cat strive to defeat the fire demon Iblis. Being gullible somewhat like Knuckles, Silver is tricked by Mephiles the Dark to go back in time and destroy Sonic. He tells Silver that Sonic is the Iblis Trigger and the cause of the future's suffering. Soon enough, Silver learns Mephiles' true intentions.

When Silver was first shown, fan reaction was negative. They tired of Sonic Team peddling out a new character every game instead of developing on the ones present. However, once the game came out, opinions on the white hedgehog became positive. Silver's fur is light grey. He has a white mane that starts on his chest and rounds his neck. His quills are styled like a crest on his forehead, save two big ones. His powers are psychokenetic. He can lift objects using telekenesis and even hover. He can even use a super transformation like Shadow and Sonic.

Blaze the Cat is a friend of Silver's. This friendship has been used as an excuse to ship the two characters. Cute, but I could care less about the pairing.

In terms of favorite characters beside Sonic, Silver is my second. He's right behind Knux. He's an interesting character and his theme song PWNs! I went as far as to download it for my iPod. The only problem I have with Silver is his voice. It's all whiny and sharp.

Fly in the Freedom-Rouge the Bat

Since the dawn of the cartoon age, all forms of media have had a character that was the sex icon. It's a method that helps appeal to all audiences. Many believe that Rouge the Bat is the sex icon to the Sonic series.

Rouge debuted in Sonic Adventure 2. She is a jewel thief similar to Catwoman and a possible love interest for Knuckles. She worked with Eggman and Shadow for a while. Shadow did his homework and found out that she was a spy for the government.

Rouge is sexy, cunning, and will do anything to get what she wants (yes I know what you pervs are thinking). With her wings she can fly and even scale walls like her echidna counterpart. She's also very nimble and great at hand to hand combat.

Fan reaction to Rouge is mixed. Some see her as a slut and not good enough for Knuckles. Others really like her, but mostly for her body. I've been on both sides of the argument. Like Amy, Rouge is a highly 'shipped' character. The two very popular pairing are Rouge/Knuckles and Rouge/Shadow. Fans even have the balls to support the super obscure Rouge/Sonic.

What's next for everyone's favorite thief? We'll find out in Sonic Chronicles.

I Am-Shadow the Hedgehog

Like Captain Falcon of F-Zero fame, Sonic too has an army of rivals. Knuckles is considered to be a friendly rival. Sonic's darkest and most powerful yet is Shadow the Hedgehog.

Shadow first appeared in Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast and Gamecube. Created by Eggman's grandfather Prof. Gerald Robotnik, Shadow was the Ultimate Lifeform. After 50 years of suspended animation, Shadow was released by Eggman and was given the chance to get revenge on mankind. In the end, he would remember the words of his friend Maria and save Earth from destruction.

Shadow has black fur, with streaks of red all over his body. A tuft of white hair lay on his chest. His powers include speed rivaling Sonic and chaos powers. When enraged, Shadow can use chaos blast destroying everything in site. In other cases, he can use chaos control to teleport.

In 2005, Sega gave the dark hedgehog his own game. Giving a darker story and more insite into Shadow's past, the game also introduced a gun mechanic. This would differentiate his play style from Sonic's.

Sonic isn't the only character to be cloned. Shadow has been cloned on several occassion. Eggman created androids of the hedgehog and Mephiles even stole his image.

What is the future for Shadow? He has let go of his past and has become a defender of Earth along with Sonic and friends. Will he continue this streak? Will his finally bang Amy? Only time will tell.

My Sweet Passion-Amy Rose

Mario has Peach, DK has Candy, and Luigi has Daisy. Sonic has...Amy Rose?

A cute, bubbly, pink hedgehog Amy Rose is always on Sonic's tail! Debuting in Sonic CD along with Metal Sonic, Rosey the Rascal has chased her hero ever since he saved her from Eggman. She wishes to settle down with the blue blur and start a family. Sonic doesn't agree with such and runs from her at every chance.

Amy can be cute, angry, and sometimes full of wisdom. She is known to be the group's cheerleader. She is quite fast, always chasing after Sonic. Get her mad and she'll use her powerful Piko Piko Hammer on you!

Amy is the Sonic female that is 'shipped' the most. I'm a fan of the Shadow/Amy pairing (thanks to SA2B) and sometimes the obscure Knux/Amy couple. Hey, fanfictions don't type themselves.

Who is this Dexter that Amy mentions in Sonic Chronicles? Is he real, or just a bluff to get Sonic jealous? We'll find out soon when the game is released this fall.

Unknown from M.E.-Knuckles the Echidna

The Sonic series is well known for its interesting characters, and Knuckles is deffinetly one of em!

Sonic's first rival debuted in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Dr. Eggman fooled Knuckles into believing that Sonic and Tails were invading Angel Island to steal the Master Emerald. In the end, Eggman revealed his true intentions and Knux joined the hedgehog and fox.

Knuckles is well known for both his appearence and abilities. In real life, echidnas look a lot like hedgehogs, but Knuckles looks nothing like Sonic. He is red with long dreadlocks and spiked gloves. His abilities include gliding, digging, knowledge of martial arts, and power over the Master Emerald which he protects.

The personality of Rad Red changes constantly. Knuckles is somewhat gullible and has been tricked by Eggman on many occassion. He can also be quick to anger, depending on the circumstances. Fans try to look past this, knowing there is more to Knuckles than brute force. In the Sonic Adventure series he was calm and very likeable. However, ever since 4Kids took over and Dan Green began voicing the character, Knuckles has been nothing but these flaws ruining him. Other than Sonic himself, Knuckles is my favorite character and shame on 4Kids for ruining a great character!

In the near future, I hope Sonic Team will develop on Knuckles. He's the last of his kind and it would be great to know more about his past.

Believe In Myself-Miles "Tails" Prower

Just like the need for a villian, a hero needs a sidekick. Sonic was luckly to receive the company of young Miles Prower, or Tails as he has two tails. Unique, smart, and dedicated, Tails would prove to be a valuable ally. Sonic has grown to consider the young fox as his kid brother.

Tails made his debut in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis. It has always been Sonic Team's nature to add a new character each game. With others making fun of his two tails, Sonic stood up for him. He has followed the blue dude ever since.

Tails is smart, having a vast knowledge of technology. With his two tails, he can fly for a short time using them as a propeller. Sometimes I wonder if this was inspiration for Rayman's hair?

Young Miles has become popular with female fans of Sonic. I don't see why, but whatever makes their nipples hard I guess! XD

E.G.G.M.A.N.-Dr. Ivo Robotnik

Every good hero needs an archvillian. The round and portly Dr. Robotnik (now known as Eggman) has antagonized Sonic ever since the beginning.

It all started when Eggman began turning the animals of South Island into robots. This evil plot caught the attention of everyone's favorite hedgehog. After his first defeat, Eggman instantly went back to the drawing board. His next devious invention would be the Death Egg, a plot that expanded three games!

Eggman is one of those villians that never gives up! He has been in every single Sonic game whether he be the main villian or not! So many brilliant plans that went down in smoke! Ressurecting an ancient god, even releasing his grandfather's handy work. Eggman's thirst for domination is so powerful, he doesn't care if his life is in danger.

Power is such a fickle thing.

Open Your Heart-Sonic the Hedgehog

[All this week or within a few weeks time, I'll be giving some opinion and backstory to the characters of the Sonic series. Think of them as character reviews.]

It's 1990 and Sega's Genesis console has had a steady go so far. Superiors are asking up and comer Yuji Naka for a new mascot to replace Alex Kidd. After many zany and goofy ideas, Naka and his small team come up with a blue, superfast hedgehog named Sonic. A star is born!

Sonic made his debut on the Genesis in 1991. Rivaling Nintendo's Mario, Sonic had a lot to offer gamers. Many (including myself at age three) were drawn in by his cool attitude and fast gameplay. His first self-titled game would go to sell millions and inspire many sequals.

As the series moved on, Sonic would joined by many interesting characters including his best friend Tails (a two tailed fox) and his friendly rival Knuckles (a red echidna). Together they formed Team Sonic, battling against Robotnik and his cronies. In Sonic CD, the blue dude with a 'tude would earn both a copy (Metal Sonic) and a love interest (Amy Rose).

Sonic's first outing in full 3D was in Sonic Adventure for the short-lived Sega Dreamcast. The game would retain the speed that the series became fanous for all the while introducing new characters and play elements.

Sonic has always been seen as cooler and edgier than Mario. He is able to run at lightning fast speeds (between Mach 1 and 2), curl up into a ball to use a spindash, and even transform into the all powerful Super Sonic!

However, as of late, the gaming community has seemed to abandon Sonic. Recent 3D platformers in the series have been panned by both purist fans and reviewers. Has it finally happened? Has Nintendo's stereotypical plumber and motion-sensitive console finally beaten Sega and their prodigy?

I've never given up on Sonic and never will.

What about you?

Welcome to Liberty City

You people don't know how hard it is to be a gamer in Tennessee.

Anywho, GTAIV is out and the reviewers are raving! If they'll give the same praise to MK vs. DC and Sonic Unleashed, I'll be satisfied. I'm hoping to get GTAIV soon, but it may not be a while. When I do, I'll post my review right away.

Look out for my review on Malice, a lost gem to the original Xbox.

Remember...

Halo sucks

Sonic rocks

I like sluts

Who and Why?

Still stunned by my first 360 review eh? XD

Be stunned or not, I wanna know who all has been reviewing the latest Sonic games. Whoever is, they must hate the series. I've played ever single game in the series and I'm quite satisfied. I don't care if they're pro reviewers or if the controls in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity suck, it's starting to piss me off.

Support the blue blur!
