The big 3 press conferences are not actually part of E3 and are usually held in their own private venues (Xbox's for example is held in Microsoft Theater), so technically, MS could still have their show. Its up to Microsoft to cancel that. The only thing E3 actually has the ability to cancel is the show floor stuff. Time will tell if they choose to do that.

Additionally, they could just do what they did with the reveal of Xbox One, and erect a tent in the middle of their own campus, and fly media out to Redmond.

Rocket League has been the comfort game I've returned to for this entire gen. I've played it since launch (it launched as a free PS+ game), and its been my "background while I watch netflix on my laptop/listen to podcast" game since 2015.

I remember when Cows mocked MS at the beginning of the gen for spending $100 million in R&D developing the Xbox One controller, claiming it was extravigant. The first elite controller alone sold over a million as of june 2016, and this is selling even faster. They have to have recouped that investment several fold by now.

Cows are very quickly parsing what their next narrative is going to be. Whether or not they care about hardware. If MS is able to squeeze out a more powerful machine and ALSO eat the cost and keep the price competitive with PS5, you're going to start seeing concern trolling Cows putting on their business suits and suddenly becoming VERY worried about if hundred-millionaire Phil Spencer can afford his next months rent. Or a second yahct.

I mean, Cows didnt give a shit when Sony was liquidating buildings, and damn near burning their own furnature to keep the heat on. And whether or not the company would even survive, let alone produce another Playstation, was legitimate open air speculation. Oh, but they will care,I promise you, when its about Microsoft. Does anybody remember the Xbox 360? That console made gaming better by existing. They set the agenda for the entire gen. Created a playbook that even Sony would take a page or two in concieving the PS4.
