Am I the only one here who thinks Watch Dogs is an underrated, and unnecessarily hated franchise?

Especially the first one. Hell, Im a black guy and while I enjoyed both, even I thought the first game did alot of things better than the second game. That game really got swept up in the "downgrade-gate" hate from that E3 2012 demo.

I love how all the cows who pretended to mourn the death of this game, as well as (Fable legends) were the same ones who relentlessly mocked them as trash, until they were canceled.

Shitty online focused destiny clone, with no narrative structure and "game as a service" the primary focus = into the trash it goes

All its missing now is "Battle Royale" and "Rogue-Like" "procedurally gennerated content", and we would've have the ultimate culmination of literally every shitty thing from this gen, wrapped up into one shit sandwich, with a shit bow ontop.

Gran Turismo is, to this day, Playstation's highest selling exclusive franchise, and Gran Turismo 3 is the highest selling Playstation exclusive ever. Not God of War 2018, not Uncharted 4, not Last of Us, not bloodborne. I'd hardly call that niche. Its only "niche" now because the last several installments, pretty much since Forza came on the scene have underperfomed, both critically, and with the exception of GT5 commercially (GT5 still had leftover name recognition from the PS1/PS2 era).

Every Forza Horizon game also has a higher metacritic score than the last. Literally, a stairstep evolution with each installment. An impressive, but almost unheard of feat, in a genre like this, especially in 2018.

They've created two large scale studios this gen (black tusk and initiative) and beefed up Playground Games with a second studio, and staffed all three of them with leadership from the biggest AAA studios in the industry, including your favorite PS exclusive developers. Im still wondering which one of the official narratives cows will chose make System Wars Cannon reguarding Obsidian. So far, I've seen combinations of all 3 so far. :

1. Claim Obsidian is only a shadow of their former selves. That the REAL developers left, and Microsoft bought a name only, and will destroy them because they're ebil.
2. An oldie but goodie is to simply pretend they never liked Obsidian anyways, SO HA!
3. A new one thats common is: Microsoft only bought these to force them to make "Gamepass Fodder".
