[QUOTE="Zensword"]Any games would be perfect if all of the flaws are fixed ;)Marka1700
And you could spend years trying to fix them and someone wouldn't like your changes.

This. Everybody hated on Killzone for jumping on the aim down the sights bandwagon, but that made the game so much better.

In Infamous 3 I want to see the cover mechanic and Melee mechanics as fleshed out and polished as in Uncharted 2. I remember when I first played the demo for Infamous 2, the first time I found myself hanging from a ledge with an enemy attacking me, I instinctively pressed the square button expecting to pull him off the side of the roof, and was supurised when I couldnt do that. They put a cover mechanic in the game but it is just underutilized, and you forget that its there. I hope they build the next game with the cover system as polished as Uncharted's cover system. It would make the combat more focused and you could use more strategy.

Ready for another locked thread? ;)

Sooo basically...you want to be handheld through the entire experience? That's what I got from that list of complaints.

TheMoreYouOwn

The other thread was locked because my browser automatically changed the text grey, and people with the black background couldnt see it (according to the mod who locked it) ;)

Second, did you even play the game? If not, then why do you care? Or are you yet another fanboy who comes into a thread about a game he doesnt care about, just to bash it? If I pick out a car, am I going to waste my time talking about how crappy the cars I DIDNT pick are? You dont like the game? Dont play it. simple as that.

? What? Uh...I platinumed the first and the sequel is one of my favorite games this gen. Not sure what you've been smoking.

Well then what were you trying to say?

Infamous 3 is going to be a VERY fun game, even more fun than Infamous 2, just because you will most likely have ALL the powers from the second game right from the start. I hope this is what they do. Because once you get all the powers the game is alot more fun just to jump around with the ice jump, etc.

I also hope the Melee in infamous 3 at the start of the game, is the same as it was at the end of Infamous 2 (including "ultra drain").

Another thing that annoyed me that would have made the game alot smoother was that "ultra drain" (where you do melee combos on enemies and it restores your electricity) restores your electricity, but it doesnt restore your health. Which is annoying because you are constantly in a state of low health.

And to the guy above reguarding Infamous 1, dont worry, these problems in I2 are not as bad as it sounds, im just focusing on the negatives right now. Im making these problems sound bad, but they are MUCH improved over Infamous 1.

Riverwolf007

you can't really do that because half the fun is leveling up. they just make an excuse of some kind and take away all your powers.

in infamous 2 all they do is give you a couple of minor things if you choose to continue from your last game.

i think it was bonus karma and a couple of extra ticks on the power meter.

i expect them to do the same next time.

I hope they at least let you keep the Ice launch/firebird strike, and give you rockets from the get go, and keep the melee EXACTLY like it is in infamous 2 levelled all the way up.

I think of it as the Spyro games on PSone. People say they liked Spyro 2 better than Spyro 3 because you had to work for your abilities that I felt should have been there from the start, but I dissagree. I dont feel you should have to work for some things, especially the improved melee.

after thinking about what you guys are saying here i think i may see the difference in how we are doing things.

i'm having an easier time i believe because i'm a freak about doing side missions and collecting blast shards before doing the story missions.

also when it comes to rockets alpha blast is your friend, it's the first one you get and i almost never swap it out of the rotation because of how handy it is to have.

Riverwolf007
yea, Ive done 52 side missions so far on one save, and like 20 on another save. This game has so much replay value its not even funny. I have never been more motivated to finish a single player game as I have been with Infamous 2. ive already beat it on both endings and I feel like playing both of them again. Ive never cared about platinum trophies before, but this will be the first game I go for the platt in.

Because once you get all the powers the game is alot more fun just to jump around with the ice jump, etc. It will be like going from Spyro 2 riptos rage to Spyro: Year of the dragon. You had to work for all your abilities in the second game, but in the third you get them all from the get go.

I'm playing through the first inFamous right now, and I have to admit I have those same issues in this game. :/ Doesn't make me happy to hear the same problems are in the next game. The AI of the enemy is ridiculous I find. You are either walking the streets, or jumping from building to building, and no matter what, the moment you enter one enemy's area of attack, you're suddenly found out and they can snipe you with perfect aim almost anywhere. I could not have them in my line of sight, a simple building could be between us, but the moment I'm in one enemy's "bubble" all enemies within a 20 mile radius know I'm there and will attack me. It's ridiculous how accurate they are with these SMGs and rocket launchers or shotguns even. I also question how Cole is hurt by electricity. I throw an electric bomb, and it explodes, why am I getting hurt by it? Even if a car or other explosive item doesn't blow up, I'm still hurt by my own electricity? This makes no sense... yoshi_64

dont worry, these problems in I2 are not as bad as they were in infamous 1. Im making these problems sound bad, but they are MUCH improved over the first game.

the game is good but the enemies are VERY cheap, i agree the shotgun ice soldiers are unbeatable unless you hit them with a chain of attacks i didnt get hurt by that many little objects like you guys the enemies have god like aim tho aim assist? meh i got over it by exploding whatever was close by...thats just me i felt the kickbacks were worse in INfamous 1eboyishere
I dont even want to get started on Infamous 1. I played it earlier today, and it was Unplayable after Infamous 2. I was doing the mission where you have to defent the medical crate, and it was just impossible. He didnt feel like a superhero at all in that game.

Back to Infamous 2 tho, something I left out was the Ice golems. In the story in the 3rd part of the game, where you fight the Ice golem for the first time as a boss, and your searching the warehouses for bertrands briefcase, it got extremely annoying having cars constantly being thrown around, and Cole getting killed so easily by the debris.

And I agree on the aim thing. it seemed like every enemy has perfect aim and every shot they make hits you. Also, in a side mission fighting ice golems, I spent five minutes just dodging his attacks. He has that attact where he sends a wave of ice at you (which knocks you down) and while your down he prepares his second attack, and by the time you get back up he fires it at you. It was almost impossible to find a window of oportunity to attack him.

Same when you fought the Behemoth. Also, those big monsters that shoot the green goop at you seem to automatically know where you are. if I went and ran behind a building, he would stil be shooting his green goop at me as if the building wasnt there and he knew exactly where I was. Thats what I meant about the AI. Basically once you pass the invisible line of sight, the enemies know exactly where you are.

*Fixed the color, my browser automatiaclly changes the text size and color for some reason*

Ive gone on record here saying that Infamous 2 is my favorite game this gen. Possibly ONE of my favorite games of all time.I would have given the game a 10 if it werent for its flaws. If they fix everything I am about to list here in Infamous 3 I would most definately hype it high AAA. This series has become an Insta-buy for me.

Here are the flaws that the game had:

-the unbalanced enemies. Alot of people hated the camera system in the Melee, but I thought it was perfect and I hope they keep the cinematic kills in the next game. The thing is, its actually not the cinematic kills that are the problem. It is the god damn overpowered enemies, and unbalanced combat. Like some missions, it looked like they just threw enemies into a spot and called it a day. The annoying rocket launcher guys who fire rockets at you with no reguart whatsoever to how close you are to them. You could be 3 feet away from them and they will still fire rockets at you which is basically an instakill.

-For a "super hero", cole sure does get hurt very easily from nothing. Tom Mcshea was right about there being alot of unneccecary annoying knockbacks, like the rocket launcher guy I mentioned above. Not only that, butthe Ice guys who dash up to you very fast and shoot you with a shotgun, which either knocks you back, or insta-kills you. Both of these get very annoying. One enemy will do something that knocks you back, and before you have time to recover, you will be knocked back again. Be prepared to spend 45 minutes replaying 5-10 minutes of gameplay due to dieing all the damn time. Also, too many times, Cole gets killed from things like a car, or large blunt object landing on him all the time, which is annoying in levels where things are constantly exploding and debris is constantly flying around.

-Reguarding the last 2 points, it also doesnt help that cole frequently takes damage from his own attacks alot. Why the hell does cole get hurt by his own attacks? This gets extremely annoying when you are in a cluttered place, like near a wall, or around a bunch of cars, and you are shooting lightening around, and rockets and grenades, and the explosion from his own attacks does damage to him.

-comming from playing alot of Uncharted, its kind of annoying that you cannot pull enemies off of ledges. Say you are hanging off of a rooftop (which you spend a large amount of the game doing) and there is an enemy above you. It would have been excellent if the melee system was as fleshed out as Uncharted 2's.

-Adding to that last point, I really wish they had made the cover system a more relevant feature in the game. The whole time playing the game, I was thinking, why is the cover system so underutilized? It would make the flow of the game so much better. Basically every gameplay mechanic from the uncharted series would fit in perfectly in this game, but for some reason alot of them are missing. They need to make the cover system and melee system as polished and fleshed out as it is in Uncharted. Things like stealth kills, etc. It seems like alot of the game is spent just blasting at enemies and hoping you hit them. This would make the game so much more balanced, its not even funny. I want them to design Infamous 3 more with the cover system in mind.

-also, the game NEEDS aim assist. Desperately. Alot of shooters are criticized for it, but this is not a shooter. Aim assist would fit in pefectly with this game.

-When I played the demo for the game i was so excited that they made cole automatically regenerate electricity just by being NEAR a source of power, but I aws dissapointed that this wasnt in the actuall game. They probably put it there just for the demo so the game wouldnt be too hard. They should have kept this in the final game.
