Rift was fun to play. I quit it for the same reason I quit WoW, the endgame. I hate grinding for gear to do Raids and most espeically I hate raids. Raids suck because there's too much downtime. People never show up at raid time and it takes too long to get a group, when you actually raid people take forever to regroup after a wipe, and a simple mistake by one of 10 to 25 people means you have to do it all over again. Seriously, my idea of group fun is the 5 man instances.
As for F2P, I hate the idea. I think subscription MMOs are better. I don't know why companies insist on $15/month subs. If you have a good game and provide a $5/month sub, you'll get alot of subs. Whether P2P or not, you can still sell a number of fluff items at a cash shop to get more money.
I'm seriously offended by the image pac-man portray's to young boys. I mean his obnoxiously bald head is not something young boys should be idolizing and all. New Image hair clinic can correct male pattern baldness, so it's no longer necessary to aspire to a chrome dome. It's time pac-man grew some hair so that young boys don't get all self concious about their baldness and realize that help is available. Darn, I was really hoping thay'd call it the Xbox Knavery. You hardly every hear the word knavery anymore and really I can't think of anything more appropriate.
What in heck does the Wii U's failure have to do with Activision Blizzard? There is absolutely zero games made or being made for Nintendo by Activision Blizzard. Nintendo releasing an outdated system to open a new gaming generation has absolutely no bearing on the gaming market. None, zero, zip. Maybe the CEOs should get off the golf courses and quit picking generic excuses to explain subscription declines to stockholders.
@MAD_AI I'm partial to Ravensloft. It was a lesser known world of D&D back in the 90's, involving gothic monsters.
I seriously doubt Hollywood could make a respectable D&D movie, though. You have to ground the story in some degree of believability, like JRR Tolkien did. Comedic elements, an overpopulation of monsters, and a video game like story line just don't make for good movies.
Okay, I refuse to play an always on-line single player game, but this articles cover picture has me curious. Is that Diablo? Has he really put on that much weight since he was bested in Diablo 2? If so, I hope he puts down the twinkies and starts working out for Diablo 4.
In other news, MS's chinese slave labor force is furiously working to correct a technical glitch widely believed to be on factory packaged next generation Xboxs.
