That would be a great idea!!! Baby Kratos would have to find a woman for milk every so often to restore health. Diaper changes would be needed to restore energy. Bad guys would sing lullabies to put him to sleep/win. Man, I can't stop thinking of all the great possibilities for Kratos, the Early Years.
Gamestop's next posting on this topic will review the Publisher Failure Checklist for the 2 GOW series.
1) Due to the enormous popularity of <insert overmilked franchise here> the series has become the target of computer piracy. We estimate <insert some outrageous and really high number here> has been pirated, and we are looking forward to adding more DRM to protect the integrity of the game going forwards and provide the kind of quality our customers expect.
2) Unfortunately, we have not offerred enough DLC and microtransactions that our customers have come to expect and enjoy. We will be increasing the number of map packs, play-to-win weapons/armor packs and multi-player DLC in the coming months. We are totally committed to the success of this <insert overmilked franchise here>. (Subsequent news will detail studio lay-offs several days later).
3) Used game sales are damaging our latest IP offering. Obviously, there needs to be some way for the publisher to make money on <insert overmilked franchcise here> from used game sales. Btw, the next XBOX looks destined to win the next console generation (PUBLISHER'S NOTE: Don't drool over the XBOX when talking to the media).
Nintendo's hoping for more interest to be generated when MS finally introduces an always on-line console. I can hear their CEO cursing MS for waiting until May to reveal!!!
No Ubisoft, MS probably must do what I posted in my blog for an always online console to be sucessful. "Extra Content" and "Featured Services" will not drive an always online console.
Historically, consoles are a "product " driven item, and an always online console is a "service" driven item. As such MS must cut out the middleman costs of selling a product (which accounts for $26 of the new game pricetag, i.e. $60). Unless the always online console saves the customers a substantial amount of money it will fail.
Just looking at that screenshot I'm compelled to ask the question, why? Having played Morrowind and Oblivion, I find it hard to imagine playing that style of game with ancient graphics and clunky movement mechanics. If they were going to polish the game up with some updated graphics/mechanics, maybe. Otherwise, I'd only have some interest if was put on a handheld.
Video games do not enable mass murderers, weapons of mass destruction enable mass murders. I challenge you to a contest Ms. Fienstien. We'll go to a high school gymnasium of your choosing. I'll go up against a highly ranked gamer who has played every FPS released on the XBOX 360 or PS3 armed with his wireless controller and see if I can survive the encounter. Then you can go up against some NRA nut-case who's off his psyche meds armed with an assault rifle and 5,000 rounds of ammunition (who doesn't have any electricity to play a video game). If you survive the encounter, we'll discuss the terms "enable" and "desensitization" afterwards. Deal?
Is he drunk or have I lost my ability to comprehend the English language? I guess this is the part where I ask for an explanation, but I'm not even sure why I clicked on this thread. Maybe it was just to bond in a group EA bashing.
