I don't plan to buy a new console until 3-4 years into it's development cycle. New consoles are overpriced and undergamed. You can knock a $100 off the console in 3-4 years and get lots of "new" games for $20 or less. Of course if it's an "all digital/always on-line" console you can count me out of the next generation from Sony/MS.
If Activision were to exploit an old franchise, HERO is the one I want them to bring back from the dead. It was probably the best Atari 2600 game ever made, though Solaris was a close second. Truthfully, I think HERO remade for 3Dish play with the KINECT would be the way to go (assuming they take the proper time to polish the motion controls).
NOTE: Playing old Atari 2600 games with there original graphics is a form of torture. The memory of those games is far better than the reality of playing them. When you bring back Atari 2600, put some effort into it and improve the graphics to at least PS1 levels.
As I said before Gamespot, please give EA there own section to spew their crap, which seems to vomit forth several times daily. This conversation is really tiring, why don't they shut-up for 6-12 months and back up their assertion with how it "saved" the "The Old Republic."
