BF3 vs MW3 (Multiplayer)

MW3 is just around the corner and BF3 has already been released. Whether BF3 or MW3 is better has been pretty much the hot debate and will always come up in future CoD and BF releases. I did manage to play a bit of MW3 early before its release date and I have already got BF3 so here is my take on the two games:

BF3 - The thing with BF3 is that while it is a step up with graphics, audio and immersion, it is a step down with gameplay mechanics which was so great about BF2 and 2142 in particular. I did see this coming. As soon as I saw it was multi-platform, I knew it would be watered down. It is still fun, but it isn't as fun as BF2 and BF2142 IMO. Also where the hell is the Back to Karkand DLC?

MW3 - From the looks of it, it is looking like MW2.5. Can't say I am too surprised. Will it be better than the previous CoD games? That is hard to say. Every CoD fan is going to praise it for what it is near release date regardless and won't hear what they really think until a month or two later. However it is looking like an improvement over MW2 and it will be a success regardless for just having the 'Modern Warfare' name.

Final Thoughts - No game is better than the other. They are both war games that happen to be set in the same period, but as far as the multiplayer experience goes, they are very different games and I could see how one person would prefer one over the other. There is no doubt that MW3 will sell better but sales mean nothing, according to that logic the Wii is the best console this generation has to offer. (Just to clarify, I have got a lot of enjoyment out of my Wii, but the majority of people I know hate the Wii and worship the 360/PS3)

Scary Experiences

Well it is October the 31st and there is something I was supposed to remember on this date. I think it was Easter? :P No, I know it is Halloween. :P I also went to a Halloween party over the weekend which was also the first time I ever dressed up for a Halloween party, it was pretty cool. I wore an Einstein mask, and I know that Einstein isn't the least bit scary, however this mask is pretty dam creepy. I also wore sunglasses underneath the mask to try and make my eyes look black. Anyway, it looked cool but I could hardly see and when I got to the party, the place was already dark. I could hardly see the detail of the other costumes and that was without my sunglasses. So when I first arrived, for the first 5-10 minutes I was stumbling around with the mask on, and it creeped a lot of people out seeing this dude just show up, not saying a single word and just walking around aimlessly. Also me and a few mates decided to get pizza, and I thought it was funny at the time to stare at the workers with the mask on. :P

So yeah, that was my weekend, but that isn't what I was going to say in this blog. I just wanted to list some personal scary experiences I have had. This isn't really a formal list and I don't know where I am going with this, but I will see how I go. :P

Blackouts: Actually I love blackouts, it is sort of like a mini-apocalypse. Electricity goes out, no lights, no technology it was pretty awesome. It also forced my family to actually talk or do something different like play a board game or cards. I love those type of games but with a household full of technology, no one ever seems to be in the mood for either. :( Unfortunately though, a blackout wouldn't have the same effect nowadays with how advanced phones are. Even at parties, I swear people spend half their time facebooking on their phone posting what a great party it is than actually socialising at the party. But all rants aside, there is a creepy aspect of a blackout. Actually I failed trying to explain how scary blackouts are, lets start again. :P

Blackouts (Attempt 2): As I was saying, blackouts can be quite creepy if they happen during the night. When they first happen, I always get this (ok... wtf do I do?) feeling. I can't see a dam thing and I just hope that I know my house better than I think and I don't trip on something. But I always come around in the end and I finally have light! :P Now to light up the house, my family uses candles and carry around torches if we want to access rooms without light. Now here is where I have the problem, I am afraid of the dark (shut up :P). No it isn't the demon in the closet or the registered sex offender under my bed. What I am afraid of is my own imagination. I mean, everyone has had that "OMFG WHAT IS THAT! Oh wait is is just my shirt hanging on the hook" moment. The mind can play a lot of tricks on you when you least suspect it. With a dimly lit room, it is light enough to see, but dark enough to mistake objects for other things and it just creeps me out man. :P

The Figure: When I was a kid, I once was watching TV late one night. Suddenly I saw a figure just standing there in the middle of the room. I was REALLY freaked out, the most I have ever been in my life. I shut my eyes and was pushing against the lounge. My heart was pounding like mad! When I reopened my eyes, there was nothing of course. This was around the time I was really into the Buffy TV series so maybe that had some kind of influence on what I saw.

The Sleep Walk: Speaking of which, Buffy aired in my area pretty late for some reason so I had to stay up most of the night to watch it. Most times I made it, some of the time I just fell asleep before it got shown. One night, me and my sister decided to stay up to watch it and I didn't make it on this occasion. When I woke up, the episode was just about to end and I was disappoint! But what was more surprising is from the time I fell asleep to the time I woke up, I was sleep walking according to my sister. She said I suddenly got up and started going through the newspaper which was odd on its own because I never touched the newspaper at the time (I still don't :P). When my sister asked me what I was doing, I replied "Looking for guns". :?

The Old House: All my life, I have only ever lived in two houses. The one I live at now, and the one I grew up in. The one I grew up in, I refer to as the 'old house' and has this strange reputation of being haunted. I must admit, a lot of creepy things did happen in that house including the last two events on this list. There was a room in the house that nobody was game enough to sleep in apart from my little sister who didn't know any better at the time. :P Before the house was sold, my mum rented it out for a bit. The last person who was renting and living at that house reported to have seen a figure of a man, standing in their room and of course... nothing was there.

Sound Hallucinations: I may be wrong here as I don't really know what they are and this is all theory, but there is no other way I can think of to describe them. Sometimes when I am trying to sleep at night and I am just about close to falling asleep, I will hear a voice and it will startle me. It doesn't just happen once either, it happens a few times. It is hard to describe it, but the voice is always a recognisable voice like my mum or a mate. Sometimes I know what they say whether it be a popular phrase, or something they said earlier that day. Other times it is too obscure to make out. To try and describe it as best I can as to what it sounds like, it is like the voices you hear in your dreams (if you remember). Most of the time it is when I am trying to get to sleep and because I am half asleep anyway, they are more of an annoyance than scary if anything. It is rare, but every now and then I will get them during the day but if I do, it usually only happens once.

Other: This is just an extension of things that keep me up when I am trying to get to sleep. Every now and then, I will just get startled for no reason. You know that feeling you get when you feel like you are about to fall off the chair after rocking it a bit too far? It is pretty much like that, only I am not sitting on the chair at the time. :P Another thing that is really strange is when I am just about to fall asleep, I will see an image in my mind that has a little bit too much detail then my normal imagination/fantasies and I will get startled from it. Sometimes it is a legitimately scary image but other times it isn't, just as an example: a womans face. No wonder I am an insomniac. :P

Well that is all I got, hope you guys have a Happy Halloween and before I go I just want to say I finally got a new computer. :D Specs are below:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 (6-Core) 3.2 GHz

Well that concludes my trilogy of Halloween related blogs. :) Catch Ya!

Top 10 Scariest Creatures

#10 The Chicken:

Now you are probably wondering how chickens could possibly be scary. Well it isn't their figure that scares me, it is how they move. How they move their head is somewhat robotic. They move more like a machine than a legit organic creature. I don't know, maybe it is just me.

#9 The Worm:

How could I possibly put worms on this list and not snakes? Snakes are bigger and dangerous. But again, it is how they move. Snakes have a more fluent and slow movement to them (you could argue that this is more creepier) while every encounter I have had with a worm is like the worm is having an epileptic shock. Although this is based on experience so maybe it is just the type of worms/snakes I just so happened to see.

#8 The Locust:

No, not the Gears of War locust. I don't know what it is about these things, I guess up close they are pretty creepy, but it is also the fact that there are armies of these things. I seen one in the house one day and I wasn't game enough to disturb it. That was one locust, the thought that armies of these things exists scares me.

#7 The Bat:

This is somewhat cliche because, you know bats are a common Halloween decoration. But come on, they are freaking demonic birds, there is no other way to describe it. You no how kids fear that there is a monster under their bed. Well birds fear that there is a bat under their nest. Well probably not.

#6 The Earwig:

This is an odd and creepy looking creature. At first glance, it looks like your regular insect, but as soon as you notice the pincers, that's it. This creature has now become nightmare fuel. What is even worse is the name. I mean 'earwig'? I don't know much about this creature, but I REALLY don't want to know how it got the name 'earwig'. Has there been a horror movie based on this creature? There should!

#5 The Scorpion:

Spiders creep me out a bit, but not as much as some people. What does scare me heaps are spiders with freaking weapons attached to them! That is pretty much what scorpions are. I mean really, this creature speaks for itself. The 2 nippers on the front, and the spike for the tail, that is really all that needs to be said.

#4 The Eel:

Ok, I guess I really should give a bit of credit to snakes. They can be pretty creepy and it is intense when a snake strikes. But what is even creepier is a freaking snake that lives under water.

Well yeah, technically a sea snake IS a snake that lives under water but I am talking about these things.

You know what, I don't even feel like describing why eels are scary. I just don't feel like it, I mean look at it. If I didn't know better, I would have bet the thing spends its day eating lost souls.

#3 The Cockroach:

I will be the first admit that roaches aren't as scary as most of the previous creatures on this list. The reason why it is so far on top is because the cockroach is my arch-enemy. I HATE these things. I see them all the time and each experience is as unpleasant as the rest. Ok, just to give the rundown: they are freaky-looking, they are fast, some of them freaking fly and every single one of them just don't give a crap. I remember once I saw a bug flying around (which I assume is a moth) and when I found out it was a cockroach, I never look at legitimately flying moths the same way again. If there is one in my room, I cannot sleep. You would think that if you would leave it, it would go away... they don't. I HAVE to find it because if I go back to sleep, I will wake up with a cockroach crawling around my legs. Oh and the best thing: they are the most stubborn creatures when it comes to death. I once made the mistake of stepping on one with my shoe. Once I lifted my shoe, the bastard ran away. You HAVE to stomp on them and crunch them up and even then, I swear I see a few leg twitches...... ok... I have said way too much on cockroaches. I better carry on!

#2 The Centipede:

I never thought that the addictive arcade game was based off a creature as horrific as this. I swear the more pictures I look at these things, the more creepier they look. It never gets easier. There MUST be a few horror movies based off the centipede.

WOAH, woah, woah, no no no not that kind of movie. Ok, maybe, just maybe I am being too harsh on the creatures. Maybe if I met a centipede in person, they would be small and cute like a pet hamster or something...

Oh for the love of god, kill it with fire! No, these creatures are invincible. There is absolutely nothing that could possibly stop them from taking over the entire worl...

Well apart from the demon birds I guess.

#1 The Octopus:

There is just something about the octopus that stands out. I know it is a pretty standard creature, if you are naming sea creatures what pops in your mind, you think fish, sharks, jellyfish and the octopus (I am so going to leave out something). But has anyone actually took the time to take a look at what the octopus actually is?

It is a pretty freaky looking creature. I fantasize about how far the octopus can actually go. One day you are swimming in the beach and the suddenly, your whole body is covered in tentacles and you are being dragged to the bottom of the ocean. What is even more terrifying is the dreugh in Morrowind. It is a creature that resembles a half man/half octopus or could be a squid.

Speaking of which, this spot could have been filled with either the squid or octopus because both are really similar and as scary as each other.

Well I have nothing more to say about my personal scariest creature. Here is Octopus's Garden by The Beatles. :P

Choose Your Destiny Game 12

Walking through the desert for so long, you start to wonder how great your chances of survival are. The hunger and thirst is unbearable and giving up appears to becoming more and more like the only option. Luckily your hope has paid off and you see a building in the distance. You stumble into the building and see a group of oddly dressed people. You beg for food and water and just like that, a bowl of fruit and a cup of water is placed in front of you.

Just before finishing your meal, you are approached by a man in a white robe. He explains that you are not far off from a town in the east and he will send two of his men to accompany you on the trip. He then shows you to a nice room with a bed, you haven't slept in ages and are dying for a good nights sleep.

During your sleep, you are interrupted by a rattling noise, you try to ignore it and go back to sleep but it is too much of an annoyance so you investigate where the noise is coming from. You come across what appears to be a cell with a man. The man begs you to release him and that the people who live in this building are a dangerous and delusional cult.

Before taking any action, the robed man from before spots you and asks you to leave the prisoner and follow him back to his quarters. Not knowing what else to do, you do what the robed man asks you. Back at his quarters, the robed man confesses that the prisoner is not who you think he is. The prisoner is in fact a powerful demon they do not know how to defeat, so they keep him safely locked up so he can do no harm.

What do you do?

{Attempt to free the prisoner there and then}
You don't believe the robed man and bluntly tell him that you are going to free that prisoner no matter what it takes. Suddenly you hear a lot of foot steps and the other members of the cult advance on you. Suddenly you feel this surge of power go through you. You take on the entire group with ease. With the group taken care of, you wonder where the key to the cell is. You start your search in the desk draw within the quarters and find them straight off the mark. The robed man still standing begs you to stop what you are doing but you shrug it off and head towards the cell. You unlock the cell door and immediately feel the power drained from you. The prisoner thanks you for the work and says he is impressed with what you have done with those mortals. Your body transforms into a beast-like figure and you lose complete control of yourself. You become a slave to the being you just freed.
{Lie to the robed man and the free the prisoner behind his back}
You don't believe the robed man but decide to go along with his antics for the time being. You walk back to your room after the discussion and wait for a bit. You start to plan your escape and decide to talk to the prisoner once more and tell him of your intentions. He says that the leader keeps the cell key in a draw, on his desk, in his quarters. You go to the robed man's quarters and luckily he is not there. You take the key from his desk and return to the prison cell to free the prisoner. The prisoner thanks you by pushing you into his cell and locking you in it with the key he somehow snatched from you. The robed man was right and the prisoner transforms right in front of you. His eyes become fiery red, his teeth become sharp and beast-like and his skin becomes demonic and distorted. As revenge the demon burns down the building and there is nothing you can do. No one hears you and you burn to death with everyone in the building.
{Leave the prisoner be}
You agree to leave the prisoner be and you return to your bed to try and get some sleep. In the morning, the robed man keeps his promise and sends two of his men to accompany you into the nearest town. Halfway into the trip, you feel a stabbing pain in your back. You fall to the ground and notice one of the men with a bloody knife in his hand and the other in shock as you are. They have an argument amongst themselves and the man explains that he had to kill you. He says he isn't as naive as his leader and couldn't let you report the prisoner to the authorities. He apologises that things had to be this way, but he couldn't take any chances and goes on to explain how important it is for the demon to remained imprisoned. The man heads back, while the other reluctantly follows and leaves you to bleed to death, alone, in the middle of the desert.
Halloween is Upon Us!

To be perfectly honest, I have never celebrated the holiday, it is more of an American thing to celebrate Halloween. However this is going to be the theme for my upcoming blogs throughout October (and by that I mean the second half of October :P):

Choose Your Destiny Game 12: I have been meaning to do one of these for ages but have never got around to doing one. I have had a lot of ideas, but I just never get around to converting those ideas into an actual blog. I have to do a CYDG at least once a year and this is the perfect time to do one. :P What does the CYDG blogs have to do with Halloween? Well if you have noticed a pattern, they tend to always be dark and never end well no matter what route is chosen. :P

Top 10 Scariest Creatures: Another blog I have always wanted to do... but I am not really sure why. :P Surprisingly spiders aren't on this list, I actually don't mind spiders. I don't mind snakes either, don't get me wrong, if there was a snake in the room I would freak. I would freak because I know certain snakes are dangerous, same with spiders however I don't find them all that creepy. This list will contain the creatures I find look the most scary, I don't care if they are dangerous or not I just don't want to be anywhere around them and just the thought of them sends shivers down my spine!

Mystery Blog: I haven't thought of a title for this blog but I know exactly what I am going to talk about. I am not going to say what it is about... but it won't be anything special and won't be as formal as the other blogs. ;)

So yeah, that is the trilogy of blogs to expect in the upcoming weeks. I have just realised that none of them have anything to do with gaming. Come to think of that I don't think I have done a gaming related blog in awhile now. :o Well just to give a brief update:

- Ended up getting Star Fox 64 remake for the 3DS. I love what they have done with the graphics, same for Ocarina of Time. The extras are nice, the 3D and motion controls are pretty cool, but apart from that there isn't that much more the game offers above the N64 version. I don't regret buying it though and I knew what to expect. I guess the only disappointment is the fact that there are no hints into successfully taking the harder route. Ocarina of Time had hints, but then again, that is a more cryptic game. Oh, and I don't need the hints (I was already a fan of the game back in the N64 era) but I thought they should have included them so that the newcomers to the series don't get lost. Overall though, I am happy with the game. :)

- I love Deus Ex Human Revolution. It isn't fair that it was released the same year Skyrim gets released as I would have happily given it my vote for GOTY. :(

- I can't wait for Skyrim! I am so excited!

- I will probably be getting my gaming PC in the next couple of weeks. :D It is going to be so great, I will be able to play games I have bought from Steam that I haven't been able to touch because my PC had trouble running it. :) I will post specs when I know what they are. ;)

- Played this game last weekend and lost the first 2 games. The first game I lost because I had a bad controller. The second game I lost due to bad luck. After losing both those games, I was pretty much screwed for the rest of that night :P... :|.

So yeah, blog finished. :P

I Can't Think of a Title

Yeah, it is one of these blogs. :P

Career - Paused: No change here, however the break is doing me some good. I am kind of pumped for next year as opposed to dreading it. :D All the doubts I have had about my course are starting to disappear and I have decided that even if I decide I want to study in another course, I will finish this course, get the certificate and qualification and start another course. Extra qualifications can't hurt. :)

Gamespot - High: I am trying hard to limit the amount of times I blog. :P Also I found something odd on Gamespot, in my reviews, someone thumbed down my Splosion Man review. I gave it a positive review so I don't see what the problem was. :? But on the bright side, I seen that 2 people thumbed up my Teddy Boy review which was nice. :) But anyway, I am now waiting for the people to thumb down my Xevious review. :P

Social - Normal: I picked up Gears 3 on release date with a few mates and system linked the consoles, it was pretty awesome. The campaign is pretty lengthy, we played Gears 1 the night before (we were going to play Gears 2 as well but didn't get enough time) and it took around 4-5 hours to complete. Gears 3 took us 10 hours, pretty much the entire day. As for the campaign, it is awesome, definitely my favourite Gears game in the trilogy now. :D

Family - Normal: No change here. :P

Gaming - High: Like I said before I played Gears 3 and again, it was awesome. :P I actually bought the Limited Edition and I must say, this has to be the best Special Edition of a game I have bought. Lots of great extras. No regrets here. :) I tried to get the Star Fox 64 remake today but it was out of stock. :( I will also be getting the Sims 3 on the 3DS... But that isn't that bad, what is though is I will probably be getting Nintendogs as well!   DON'T MOCK ME! :P

Free Time - High: Hell Yeah! :P

Mentally - Unknown: These past couple of days have been great. However if history repeats itself it will only be temporary. I am going to try and make the best of it because:

feelings of happiness for no reason > feelings of sadness for no reason :P

Also thanks edpeterson for all the comments in the other blog. :)

The Other 4 Movies Everyone Hates But I Liked

As I said, this was supposed to be a top 10 list, I have decided to complete it and add 4 extra movies to the list. :P

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: A lot of people hated this movie, South Park even did a parody of the fans reaction towards this movie (I thought that episode was hilarious :P). The biggest complaint was that aliens didn't belong in an Indiana Jones movie. I am in two minds about this myself. I admit, the aliens thing did feel a bit off but looking back at the other Indiana Jones movies, they did deal with a lot of crazy stuff as well. The thing is though while I did hate it when I first saw it in the cinema and while I can still admit it isn't the best Indiana Jones, I actually really like it now. It is cool seeing Indiana Jones back in action and to me, doesn't feel like it strayed too far (or even not at all) away from the original trilogy. When I was watching it, it felt like the real deal, it felt like I was watching an Indiana Jones movie and that is pretty rare. There are a lot of sequels that while good, didn't feel like the same atmosphere because of how old the original movie was. This, surprisingly, didn't have this problem IMO.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy: I really don't know why I like this movie. It really isn't for everyone and I know a lot of people won't 'get' the humour. But aside from that, a lot of people who loved the book, hated this movie as well and I can only take their word for it as I haven't read the book myself. But I really don't know, it has this unusual charm about it. I think why I like it so much is I have never seen any other movie like this. I am just going to put it down to guilty pleasure along with Street Fighter. :P

Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End: Not only is this a movie that gets a lot of hate, but this would probably be my favourite of the trilogy as well. :o The thing is, a lot of the hate does tend to come from people who take this movie (and the trilogy) too seriously when they really shouldn't. Out of all the movies in the trilogy, yeah this does have the most plot holes. But the story isn't really why I enjoy these movies so much, it is the characters. The characters are just so entertaining and I love the way they react off each other and at certain times, screw over each other. :P Out of the three movies, this had the biggest cast of characters and I loved every scene where Sparrow and Barbossa interacted.

Terminator Salvation: Here is one that gets a lot of crap, but really what do you expect when this is not only a sequel to one of the most popular and highly praised blockbuster franchises of all time but also strayed in a different direction as the originals. The thing is, you couldn't really expect it to follow the same formula as the originals. The original three were all about the prevention of a war between humans and machines and was set in the world as it is. Salvation however is that actual war between humans and machines and set in an apocalyptic wasteland so it was going to be different regardless. It isn't a perfect movie and I still consider the previous movies to be better, but for what is is worth, Terminator Salvation wasn't too bad.

Lost Blog: Top 6 Movies Everyone Hates But I Liked

Date: Early 2011
Reason Never Published: Never finished (was originally going to be a Top 10 list :P)

Full Metal Jacket: I know, most people I know likes Full Metal Jacket. However, when they say that, they really mean the first half of the movie. Really though, I liked the second half of the movie and in some cases (depending on the mood) I prefer the second half. I think the reason why the second half is overshadowed is because the first half is really... something. The second half plays out like a normal movie while the first half is so unusually entertaining and dark, it is like being on a trip or something (from what I think being on a trip is like). But if you take the second half of the movie for what it is, it is still quite a good piece of cinema.

Watchmen: I loved Watchmen. I must admit, when I first saw it I had mixed feelings towards the movie, mainly because I expected a typical superhero movie and instead got something completely different. But Watchmen really grew on me and I really love this movie. The opening intro would have to be the best intro I have seen for a movie in awhile. I even read the Graphic Novel. I guess a lot of people didn't like the dark and unusual nature of the movie and probably would have preferred more action than drama, but I loved the deep themes and issues the movie took on. Oh, also the Soundtrack was awesome!

Ghost Rider: I don't really know what is wrong with this superhero movie. I mean it isn't anything special, but it is far from being a bad movie. I liked the main character (by that I mean I like Cage :P), I liked the villains and it had a satisfying conclusion.

//Come to think of it, a lot of hate comes directly towards Nic Cage, an actor you rather love or hate. I am in the group that likes Nic Cage. Yeah, he isn't a great actor and can get really over the top when he wants to... but that is why I enjoy his movies so much. He is just so entertaining and a lot of fun to watch. That is my take anyway. :P

The Matrix Reloaded: One thing I have noticed is someone who loves The Matrix may not like the trilogy. To be honest, the first movie is the better movie, but I still enjoyed the trilogy for what it is worth. I do somewhat hate Revolutions, to be perfectly honest, I didn't care for the war with the machines. This was the main focus of the movie when it shouldn't have been. I wanted to know what was going on with the Matrix. I wanted to see more of the Matrix. However, the movie wasn't all that bad, I loved the confrontation between Neo and Smith outside the Matrix and loved the final fight scene... but that what bugs me about the movie. The movie should have been more about Neo, Smith and the Matrix, not the war. I don't mean to cut out the war entirely, just not spend most of the movie with it. Or better yet, at least make it interesting. Not only was it boring, but there were so many battle cliches as well. However, I liked Reloaded and don't see how it should be considered terrible along with Revolutions. I loved how it showed more of the Matrix, it showed how evolved Neo was, we discovered how big a threat Smith is, there was quite a bit of philosophy talk added and holy crap was that highway scene awesome!

Street Fighter: I have already explained this movie in my Top 10 Dumbest Things I Have Said blog. :P

Avatar: Honestly, I didn't know about this movie until it gained popularity and was already out. To be perfectly honest, it isn't my type of movie to begin with but I had to see it to fulfil my curiosity. The movie does have quite a lot of fans, but also has its fair share of haters but the reason why it is on the list is because from my perspective, the haters outweigh the fans. But to get one thing straight, I don't love this movie. To the lovers: it isn't that good of a movie. Apart from good 3D and amazing CGI, it is just your mediocre popcorn flick. The main character isn't interesting, the villain is generic and the story has already been done. To the haters: It wasn't THAT bad, yeah the story has been done to death but for what it is worth, it is still a pretty decent story. And the visuals were amazing. (I know I already said that but it was :P)

And I Have Nothing

I have been wanting to do another blog for awhile now but I just don't have anything to say. So what I might do is give a general update on my life in the same format as a previous blog I did awhile back. :P

Career - Paused: I am taking 6 months off of uni because I really need the break. A few people disagree with my decision but last semester took it really out of me. I am really enjoying it so far, I have caught up on most of my games and don't regret what I am doing one bit. :)

Gamespot - High: I have written 2 reviews, commented on blogs, been more active on forums... well unions... well CDU. :P I am thinking of redesigning my profile, a new banner perhaps because the current one looks weird. :P I won't get rid of chewbacca though, chewbacca has been defending my profile for years and will continue to do so. :D

Social - Normal: I do catch up with friends every now and then, when Gears 3 is released me and 3 other mates are going to system link the consoles and play through the campaign. It is going to be great, plus the night before we will be going through Gears 1 and 2 together. :D

Family - Normal: No change here, carrying on... :P

Gaming - High: I have completed Ocarina of Time 3D, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario 64 DS, New Super Mario Bros, Portal 2, Bioshock 2 and Deus Ex Human Revolution. I also have Gears 3 preordered, Skyrim preordered and will most likely be getting the Star Fox 64 remake close to release date as well. I really can't complain in this area.

Free Time - High: :D

Mentally - Critical: Nothing has really changed on an emotional level for me. I don't really want to go into how I feel at the moment, maybe for another blog. I will say this though, I have rediscovered something about myself. The only time I feel alive is when I am gaming as sad as it may sound. I don't know how I forgot that. I guess with uni, I never have time to really game and I start to forget what it is like to just sit down and enjoy a good session of gaming. It is like my own personal anti-depressant. The best feeling in the world is completing something in a video game, the harder it is the more worthwhile and fulfilling it is when you finally complete it. It could be as small as a boss fight or even as big as the whole game, nothing compares to that feeling. Well I guess that is all I really wanted to say.

Until next time. ;)

Edit: I made my banner already and it is already up! Decided to go a little bit old-school this time around. :D

Now Owner of a 3DS

Finally got a 3DS! :) I have had it for about a week now (I got it at price drop launch :P) and enjoying it so far. :D

Friend Code: 0559-6940-2222, add me ;)

The DS games I have so far for it are the New Super Mario Bros and Super Mario 64 DS. The New Super Mario Bros is ok, however I consider the Wii version the more superior and complete game. Super Mario 64 DS I am really enjoying. I was a really big fan of Super Mario 64 on the N64 and know that game so well I could draw a map of the whole castle and each level from memory. When there is a change, I know straight away. This is a good thing though as it keeps the game fresh while at the same time nostalgic. There is a bit of control issues though, there is a run button which was added to this version, and while that might not seem like an issue, pressing a while holding on to y is difficult:

Apart from that it is pretty good. Also that isn't my image, I just found that pic on google images. :P

The 3DS game I got with the system was Zelda: OoT and I must say, I am enjoying it a lot. I never got to experience any of the Zelda games on the N64, I did own them but I was never smart enough to figure them out... I was pretty young back then, give me a break... stop staring at me! :P But even playing it now, some of the stuff you have to do is pretty cryptic... but I love it. I love figuring out how to solve the puzzles and the hints are a great backup in case I am stuck.

Anyway, tl;dr - I am enjoying the 3DS :P

;)
