Finally Reached Level 20

Haha, no it isn't what you think. This is just a really geeky way of saying it is my birthday today. :D I must admit though, 20 is a scary number for an age. What is even scarier is I have been a Gamespot member for 5 years, so 25% of my entire life I have been a Gamespot member... actually no that isn't scary, that is freaking awesome. :P Well if you take into consideration of months, it probably doesn't equal that but I am just going to take my estimation as fact for now. :P So what did I get? Well here is the thing, I will be getting the 3DS... but I am waiting for the price drop first. I was close to getting the 3DS for the original price because of the 20 free games... but I just couldn't justify it. With that said, even if I did get the 3DS before the price drop, I wouldn't have been angry like some people. I would have been happy with the 20 games. :) I know I won't be buying it because it is a gift but if anyone is getting me a gift, I feel better knowing that they got it at the lowest price they could. :P Also before you tell me that the 3DS is terrible and going to fail, let me justify myself first. :P Yes I know that the library is lacking in the 3DS, the only game I want at the moment is the Ocarina of Time remake. However there are a few good games I am looking forward to such as Star Fox 64 remake (all what I knew it as: Lylat Wars remake ;)) and many others. Plus I am sure there are going to even more great games yet to be announced. The library is lacking at the moment and that is why there haven't been as much sales as suspected. But I think it is a bit extreme to say the 3DS will fail, hear me out, as soon as a Pokemon game is released the sales will peak. :P Plus look at the PS3, the library for the PS3 was lacking a bit when it first came out but looking at it now, it is arguably one of the best! (then again that could be said for all 3 consoles :P) So give the 3DS some time to develop. Also even if by rare chance it does fail, I still win. I am in a very unique situation where I am interested in both the DS and 3DS library yet still don't own the original DS handheld. So while I wait for the 3DS library to develop, I can start digging in on all these DS games I have been missing out on over the years. It is like getting 2 handheld consoles in one. :P But the 3DS won't fail. Prediction: In a few years time we will look back at the people who said it will fail and laugh about it. :P Also apart from that near future gift, what else did I get for my birthday? Well it is 1:45 AM in my time so people haven't really had a chance to give me anything yet. :P Although to be honest, I would be happy with just a birthday card. :) With that said, I am going to spend the next 8 - 10 hours of my birthday doing what I do best... sleep. :P

Lost Blog: Farewell YouTube

Date: Early 2009 Reason Never Published: This actually wouldn't have been a blog, it was going to be a rough script to organise what I was going to say for what was going to be my final YouTube upload. Why I never made a video based on the script? Well I was too busy to even do that. But I am glad I didn't as I am not going to abandon my YouTube account just yet... even though I haven't done one in ages. Hello this is Superironic. It has been awhile since I have done a Let's Play and quite frankly, I don't think I will get around to doing any more Let's Plays. I never have any time to do Let's Plays and when I do, I never end up finishing them anyway. My life is quite busy at the moment and this is my last year of school. Study and homework is my main priority if I wish to pass all my subjects. When I have some free time, I do what I do best which is play videogames, as some of you may know I do a lot of that as the hardcore gamer I am. The next thing I do is post on Gamespot. If I am not playing video games, then I must be discussing about them. So out of all the things I do, making a LP video is near the end of the list. Making a LP video is really time consuming for me, I honestly don't know how Ed Peterson makes so many. Which reminds me, I would like to thank Ed Peterson as he was one that introduced me Let's Play and got me involved. Thanks for supporting my few videos I have, and I hope your Let's Play's continue to be a success. I would also like to thank all my subscribers and all of those who commented on my videos. Your comments are what makes making my videos worth while. //I am just going to go out and say I wasn't a very good LPer anyway, there was never a game I finished. However what is stopping me isn't actually time, there are actually 3 major problems stopping me from doing them. One is that I don't have a very good mic and usually results in poor voice audio. The second problem is the location of the computer. It is in an open area in my house and my whole family would be able to hear me. I am only limited to days where I have the house to myself. The last and most important problem is my computer will refuse to record any in-game audio. That is a real problem not just for LP's but also for any Gaming videos I would like to do. Come to mention it, there is a lost video I am holding back where I did a LP of a platforming game I made in high school using Game Maker but I am still undecided whether that will see the light of day or not.

Lost Blog: PS3 and 360 Comparison

Date: Early 2010
Reason Never Published: I only had the 360 for a few months and wanted to make sure I knew the 360 well enough in case I said something incorrect about the console. So I left it unpublished and forgot about it until now.

I have had both my PS3 and 360 for quite awhile now, and I must say, it is great having 2 consoles. I have noticed some differences, both good and bad, that I would like to share with you guys.

Price: IMO they are the same in some respects. The PS3 you pay more up front, for the system. The 360, you sort of pay along the way. If you don't want to be limited to 1 area, you have to pay for the wi-fi adapter, or alternatively you could buy a long enough Ethernet cord. It is cheaper, but a pain in the ass if you have an awkward household like mine. You also pay for Xbox Live Gold, of course this IS optional, but highly recommended if you want to get the most out of your games. Also battery packs are a must, unless you want to go through chunks of batteries.

Winner: Equal, however I could give it to the 360 as you don't necessarily need ALL the add-ons

Features: Both the PS3 and 360 offer a wide range of features. The PS3 has PS Home, Vid Zone, Play TV, Internet browser, and others. However the 360 has a lot more when it comes to well implemented features. Parties, photo booth, facebook, installing games onto the HDD, and my personal favourite: listening to music while in-game. I actually don't see many people do this, but I reckon it is great and adds a different experience to a game. Playing the game Fuel, while playing the song Fuel, is pretty awesome :P

Winner: 360

Marketplace: Both the PSN store and XBLA marketplace have a wide variety of games to offer. The XBLA does serve it's name justice by having a wide collection of Nostalgia Gems for old-school gamers such as myself to get a hold on once again. Also lets the new generation of gamers experience what gaming was years back. PSN store, though, does have a better library of games. With the XBLA, I have trouble finding games that I am interested in, however with the PSN store, there are load of games that appeal to me. When I add money to my PSN account, it runs out fast, with XBLA, I have trouble finding games that I believe are worth the MS points.

Winner: PS3

Hardware and Compatibility: Getting a 360, after a PS3, has made me realised that the 360 is a little outdated. Batteries in the controller and no wi-fi are very noticeable when making the transition from PS3 to 360. However, MS does manage to to cater this problem with add-ons you can later buy for your 360. When it comes to compatibility, I don't think there is any competition here. I have managed to store photo's, songs, movies with ease via USB drive. Not to mention I can record TV shows and transfer it to the PC via Play TV and replace my 40 GB HDD with a massive 500 GB HDD which I bought from a PC shop. Hell, I can even transfer songs from my iPod to the PS3, my PC can't even do that! With a 360, you have to use a disc or rely on your PC to stream the media.

Winner: PS3

Multiplayer: I have been online with both the PS3 and 360, there really isn't that much difference. The 360, you can get a better experience with online, through party chat. Even though this feature isn't for me, I can see why people would enjoy it. However, what really is greatly implemented with the 360, is split-screen multiplayer. Not only for normal games, but also XBLA games.

//I am not sure what I mean by 'what really is greatly implemented with the 360, is split-screen multiplayer' however my guess would probably be because there was many PS3 games with no split-screen support at the time, or at least any games I had heard of. However, I have seen more party games with the 360 than the PS3 so I would still give the point to 360.

Winner: 360

Exclusives: This is really opinionated and not really up to me to decide. I can tell you that both consoles do offer plenty of great games. I honestly reckon the PS3 has better exclusives. I am quite biased being a PC gamer, but even if I wasn't, I still like more PS3 exclusives than 360 exclusives. I have had the PS3 longer than the 360, so I am biased in that regards.

//At the time, many 360 exclusives were 360/PC exclusives which is what the comment 'I am quite biased being a PC gamer' refers to.

Winner: Equal, up to you and preference but if I were to go by my opinion, it would be the PS3

Well those are the main points I wanted to make. I think it comes to no surprise that the overall winner is:
There is none ;)
The reason why there are a lot of fanboys from both systems is simply this: they are both great consoles, but only in their own respect. There is no right or wrong console, only which console best suits you as a gamer. I honestly can't believe that I have heard people say the console X sucks. They should try out the Philip's Cdi first and rethink their statement :P Well that's it for me.

Next Stop: Nintendo Wii :)

//I didn't have a Wii back then :P

Go Away Please!

For 2 weeks now I have been sick, normally I don't mind being sick for the most part (regular colds are a nuisance but I can live) but this has been an overall terrible but oddly unique experience. For the first week, I didn't even think I was sick, mainly just a sore throat and occasional headache. I thought it must have just been how I have been sleeping, waking up with a dry throat. And with the headaches... yeah I get those a lot so nothing out of the norm there. Second week I actually managed to get a blocked nose so yeah, and pretty much this flu or virus or whatever I have has been getting worse from there. At the moment, the sore throat is gone but I have a cough and my blocked nose (that previouse cleared up during the week) has returned. I have never had anything like this, when I usually get the flu there is a period where it gets worse then it takes a turn and starts to clear up. With this, the symptoms have been going on and off all week, I don't know what combination I will get tomorrow. I haven't been able to sleep properly and has been screwing with my already terrible sleeping routine and have been having trouble eating. I haven't been able to meet up with friends or go to parties, speaking of which there is one next weekend and I just hope this thing has cleared up by then. Oh please end soon! :(

Granted though, it isn't that bad, I think the worse thing I have had was a vomiting virus in which I pretty much passed out and fell asleep for the majority of the day... well after I had vomited as much as I could handle that is haha. When I woke up I was told that my sister was taken to hospital because she couldn't stop vomiting... oh yeah the whole house pretty much had the same vomiting virus, I still remember all of us in the lounge room with buckets in our hands haha. However with that said, I think I would prefer a bad hangover over what I have got now. I haven't had the worst hangover I could possibly get (I haven't passed out while drinking or got so drunk that I have forgot everything that happened the entire night (I can't imagine what a hangover the next day would be like for people who have been that drunk)) however I have woken up in the morning after a night out and just vomited. Even though I haven't vomited with this thing... yet and quite frankly hate the thought of vomiting, I would still prefer the hangover mainly because it only lasts the morning, apart from that I am good for the day. I guess if there was a time to have this thing, I am glad that it is now when I am on holidays than a more inconvenient time like during exams. :?

So yeah, that is my built up frustration all converted into blog form, on a lighter and unrelated note I got my uni results back recently and managed to pass all of my units. :) It was a pretty close call though, I didn't do too well on my assignments and could have gone either way. I also struggled with a few exams and was expecting a fail or 2... but luckily that wasn't the case. :) However it still doesn't change my thoughts, I need to work out whether I should change course or not. I got lucky this time but might not be next time and I shouldn't be struggling, especially if I want to go into the industry and have a career in this. I should be able to do this well, not half-well if I expect to be successful in this field, but don't get me wrong, I am happy with my results. :) I would celebrate with a few drinks with my mates... but I can't because I am sick.

That is all I wanted to say, there are plenty more lost blogs on their way. :P

Bye. ;)

Lost Blog: 5 Least Favourite Movie Trends

Date: Early 2011
Reason Never Published: There really is no reason apart from forgetting to publish it.

1) The Mentor Dies: In a movie, it isn't uncommon for a movie to have a mentor, a character with a lot of experience who guides our main character. However many movies introduce the mentor, just for them to get killed off, often by the main villain. The hero has a motive to go after the villain and the villain (by killing the mentor) has become a powerful foe. This plot has become so common in movies that it has become a cliche itself, one that I really hate for several reasons. The first is often that the mentor is the coolest character in the movie. The second reason is that this gives the main character an unrealistic chance of defeating the villain. Granted some movies pull it off great, while others rather downgrade the villain so they could get defeated or get defeated by the main character by mere luck or cheaply.

2) The Love Interest: A lot of people love this cliche but it is overused way too much. The plot pretty much involves the main character meeting a female, the female is involved in the plot somehow and on their journey, they fall for each other. This is assuming the main character is male, it can and has gone the other way with the female being the lead character. It isn't a bad cliche, but it is overused to that point that when a female character is introduced to the story, you immediately expect her to hook up with the main character, if not then at least one of the characters. Sometimes the female already has a past with the main character which pretty much skips over how they bond over the progress of the movie. Granted there are movies with female characters that avoid the use of including a love relationship and I reckon it is fresh breath of air. Also really, the female shouldn't be obliged to have a relationship with the main character?

3) References: This really pisses me off in a comedy movie. This usually happens in a cheap comedy, when the whole premise of the joke is when a character references rather another movie, a celebrity or anything that is popular at the time. Just to give you an example of a generic reference joke:

Character 1: *insert motivational speech*
Character 2: Wow, I was really touched by that speech
Character 1: Thanks, I stole it from *insert popular movie at the time*

Really, it isn't funny and if the movie repeats referenced jokes similar to that, it starts to get painful.

//Also by reference, I don't mean parody of the actual movie a pop culture. I mean when the whole premise of the joke is merely the fact that characters in a movie are talking about another movie. Also this may not exactly be a trend since it isn't as common as the other trends on the list, but I have encountered it in a few of the lower cIass, cheaper comedies.

4) The Movie Starts Off in the Middle of the Movie: There is probably a name for this technique but as confusing as it sounds, that is the best way I could have possibly described it. Pretty much, the movie starts off right in a very intense or interesting scene. More than often, the scene is cut short before the situation is resolved and the movie cuts back into the timeline prior to the event that the viewer just witnessed. This isn't a bad technique and honestly, I kind of liked how it was played in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. It is more of a personal taste thing, but I personally don't like it. I haven't seen it done much in movies, in fact if anything it is mostly done in TV series, but it has been done enough to warrant it a cliche on its own. The reason I don't like it is because I consider it a spoiler to the plot and usually you can sometimes guess what is going to happen just by watching the very first scene of the movie. Sometimes the plot tricks you and throughout the movie you discover the first scene actually turned out to be something different than it appeared, but to me that comes off more annoying than clever.

5) Filler: Sub-plots that are there just to only fill the movie run time and nothing else. I don't necessarily hate this as most, if not, all movies will have some kind of filler one way or another. When I say filler, I mean just simple sub-plots that have no impact on the main story whatsoever and really don't benefit the movie in anyway. These are scenes in the movie that could have been easily taken out and no one would have noticed. If you don't know what I am talking about, have you ever been watching a movie and all you are thinking about is "when is the movie going to end?" More than often it is because you have been sitting through boring filler the entire movie. In a good movie, you won't notice it as sub-plots can be interesting when done right, so interesting that you forget about the main plot for an instance. Sometimes the sub-plot actually does benefit the movie, maybe offering more character development giving the viewer an idea on what the characters will have to overcome to resolve the situation. Other times, it doesn't and it is just pointless scene after pointless scene after pointless scene. What completes a terrible movie is when the conclusion is put together half-assed and so painfully rushed that you feel that you could have been doing something better with your time.

Lost Blog: 5 Least Favourite Gaming Trends

Date: Early 2011
Reason Never Published: Never finished/polished
Note: Whenever I do //italic text I am making a note to clarify a bit of the blog whilst reading it again.

1) Extended/Alternative Ending: Doesn't happen all the time, but enough to get my attention. To give an example, in Halo if you beat the game on Legendary (hardest difficulty) you got to see another scene, a scene that would have been cut out if you beat the game on another difficulty. Halo isn't the only game that has done this, so has Alan Wake I believe (correct me if I am wrong as this is based on what a friend told and haven't actually played the game). The reason this bugs me is that the game shouldn't force you to play on a difficulty you don't enjoy. Secondly, I commend the game for rewarding the player for their hard work, but reward in another way, don't lock a piece of the story from gamers like me who prefer to play on a normal difficulty.

2) Online Multiplayer: Believe it or not, this actually isn't a stab at popular multiplayer games such as CoD or Halo. They know how to make a decent multiplayer game, I know that I really don't like playing CoD online, but it would be arrogant of me to say the the multiplayer experience CoD does offer is terrible. It isn't, and I can see why people enjoy it, although it is annoying when they turn into a zombie and play it non stop avoiding any contact from any of their other games. But continuing, this is actually a stab at the games that have online multiplayer just because every other game has it. Not only is it painful to find that the only way to earn a compete achievement/trophy set is to go online, but to find that no one is online to play with is really painful. Not only that, but some games just don't need it and should have spent their resources adding other features to the game instead. Also some games don't even do it right either which result in rather laggy gameplay, glitches or unbalanced matches which usually result in a dead online community within possibly a week or month upon release. What else can I say apart from do it right or don't do it at all.

3) Map Screens: This actually isn't a trend I hate, I love map screens. I hate the fact that games don't use them anymore! The only game that I have seen that used it was the New Super Mario Bros and that was just to bring tribute to the older Mario games. The closest you will see to a map screen is a level select screen but some platformers don't even do that. With Limbo, you start the game in the main menu and you go straight into the main game. Granted, Limbo didn't need a map screen and was probably a good idea to not have any form af maps screen or level select, I was just naming a game that was a platformer and didn't have it. In Donkey Kong Country, the map screen was awesome. You really felt a sense of exploration and journey ahead of the characters which you just don't get with modern platformers and level select screens. However, since this really isn't a trend I hate but a trend I want back, I can't really include it on the list but I will leave it in here to give tribute to a trend that I want to see in more games.

Real 3) Alcohol: Not really a big trend, but I have seen it in a few games... ok two. The truth is, I love the premise, as saving the world isn't as easy as it sounds and there is nothing wrong with a drink or two to take the pressure off. The problem I have is the two games that did utilise this didn't do it right. The first game I played was Fable 2. I really couldn't see any change in gameplay, apart from (I think) when a character talked to me, it was low pitched or in slow motion or something. I have been drunk before, many times actually and I can tell you that this does not happen when you are drunk. If it does, I would question what the hell was put in my drink? The second game was Mass Effect 2, after a few drinks the screen was woozy, that's great. You talk to the bartender and Shepherd has a bit of a slur in his speech, hey maybe this game actually has a realistic representation. Shepherd walks away and... what the hell? Instant Sober! That does not happen, it really doesn't. What would be great in a game is that consumption of alcohol actually has an impact on the gameplay. Make the character stumble around making hard to evade gun fire. Make the camera a bit woozy so it is harder to aim. I want to see something like that, sure it would be more of a challenge in the game, but it would be interesting to see, am I wrong?

4) Aliens: I don't really hate this trend, but it is overused too much for my taste. You know the story, it is the future and some form of alien civilisation has been discovered. They don't like us humans, probably because we looked at them funny or something, a war breaks out and us humans have to work really hard to win it as more than often, they have better technology than us. I pretty much described the plot for many sci-fi shooters like Halo, Gears of War and Resistance with their own variations of course. I don't have that much of a problem with aliens as they do make for some creative enemies, but it is pretty cliche if you think about it. Why are the aliens always the bad guys? If there is an alien civilisation out there, they might be as excited to meet new intelligent lifeforms as we are. I always felt bad for shooting the grunts in Halo, they seemed like such friendly guys apart from trying to kill you that is. Maybe a game should pull a District 9 every now and then, help protect the aliens from the evil government. You know what I am talking about, that power hungry sector of the government that exploits anything that they see fit. Or why not have just have a normal war. You know, just because it is in the future doesn't mean that aliens HAVE to be the enemy. BF2142 didn't have aliens and that game was still awesome. Either way, the concept of the world putting away their differences to fight a more powerful enemy is great, but I do like to see something different every now and then.

//Yes, I know the 'evil' government is a cliche on it's own, I was just trying to bring about ideas.

5) Realism: You know what, this is more than just a trend. This has been the goal of nearly every videogame whether it be graphics, physics or just overall story. Many gamers want developers to push on how in-deph and realistic games and I am quite curious myself. But you know what, is it such a sin to want an unrealistic game every now and then? A game that doesn't care about realism but instead just there for... pure fun?

//There was going to be more to be said about realism but never ended up finishing the whole explanation.

I'm Back Baby!

Yep, the exams are over and the semester is done for. How has everyone been? :P Now I can finally catch up with games... however it isn't as easy as it should be. Pretty much for the first few weeks (happens every time I finish a semester) my mind is still on the mindset that I shouldn't be playing games and have to get in the mood first. I don't know why this is and can't really explain it. I will get back to gaming though, that is a definite. I guess hard work, assignments, study and exams sort of take away my 'gaming mojo' and once finished, have to eventually gain it back somehow.

But it is good to finally be on break and will be seeing an increase in activity soon. :) Oh, also you will be seeing a whole lot of blogs on its way. These will be blogs that I started but never ended up finishing or thought it wasn't polished enough so these type of blogs will be published as... you guessed it! Lost Blogs. :P Like the Lost Videos, I will probably publish them as a batch, so a Lost Blog per day. They will be mainly (if not) all Top X Blogs, so if you aren't a big fan of those, well I don't know who isn't. Even if you totally disagree with them or agree with them, as long as you are interested on the topic, you will be interested to see what the other person picked. And... what am I talking about, blogs within a blog? Come to think of it, I should do a Top 10 Blogs that are about Blogs... or not.

Well I probably should get going, just wanted to say I am back. :)

Where Do I Begin?

So...... how are you guys? :P It has been awhile since I have done a blog and quite frankly, it is still a bad time for blogging for me. I have 3 assignments due at the end of semester and there are only 2 weeks left. I have hardly started them. The thing is, I have had smaller assignments throughout the whole semester and just feel like I haven't been able to start these bigger assignments without them getting in the way. One assignment is hard, I have attempted it many times and still have no idea what I am doing. The second one I can do, but can't do it well. The third one I think I can do, but haven't had a chance to start it which is what I hope I will be doing this weekend.

However while I am here I think I will just give an update on my life. The format will the area - status - description:

Career - Critical: I am extremely struggling with my course. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I have admitted how behind I am but it is a lot more than that. I have been contemplating changing my course entirely, as a programmer there are some concepts that I am struggling with big time and wonder if this is actually the course for me. Another thing I have thought about is taking time off entirely for a semester or two as education is taking its toll on me.

Gamespot - Low: I have tried to keep track of blogs and post every now and then. I am not as active as I once was and have been unable to blog until now. I was close to blogging a few times before but never ended up finishing and became lost blogs.

Social - Normal: Because of how much pressure and stress I am on, this has led to going to see friends more often when I would usually decline offers. This is partly why I am falling behind on my work but every time an offer comes up, I feel I need to get out of the house and leave the stress behind for a bit.

Family - Normal: Not much change here, actually going quite well and proud of my family. My brother is going to be a father in the next month which will make me an uncle. :D

Gaming - Critical: I have a copy of Bioshock 2 and Dantes Inferno still packaged after purchasing both games weeks ago. I have MS points I haven't used, money in my PSN account th... well PSN has been down so even if I wanted to. :P Also Wii points that I haven't used. I bought the Potato Sack from Steam (whole bunch of indie games) and have only played one game from it and that was Super Meat Boy. I am really behind on my gaming and as of late, have become a casual gamer. The only time I have gamed was at parties.

Free Time - Dead: :|

Mentally - Critical: I have just been overall depressed this year. Some days a feel fine, like today I feel fine. The stress is there and there is a lot on my mind but I feel in control and can handle it. Other days... I just feel terrible. I feel like I am failing at life. I have depressing thoughts and ideas pop up in my head that I have never have happened before in my entire life. It does scare me that now I am starting to crack. One thing that I have been proud of is that I am quite emotionally strong willed but these last couple of months been tough and I don't understand why entirely. I never used to be like this. The only time I feel like I am at peace is when I am dreaming and when I wake up, I immediately regret it and wish I could just fall back to sleep. Worst part is my friend is suffering from a terrible break-up and while I have done my best to support him, I fear that my negative mental state will make things worse. I am hoping for a revelation that will change everything and snap me out of this nightmare but that has yet to happen.

Anyway that is the blog, sorry to end on such a low note. :(

Drunken Blog Returns

I know it has been awhile since I have done a blog, and will probably be awhile when I make the next blog. I have been caught up with uni work and just never have the free time to sit down and write a blog. I probably will miss commenting on my friends blogs as well but I will try to keep track. So as a gift to all for the inconvenience, I present the re-blog of my drunken blog. It was originally posted last year and taken down immediately upon release. As you may guess, I was completely drunk while typing and probably doesn't make sense in some parts haha. But by popular demand, the blog finally sees the light of day again, enjoy:

Pretty much, I have had a few drinks and have decided to do a blog. And by a few, I mean too many, if it was only a few, I wouldn't be doing a blog at all actually.

Now, you are probably wondering... well actually I don't know what you are wondering. However with that said, I am going to ramble on about stuff. Such as drinking.

You may think that I will encourage you to drink because it is fun. Well, no. If you have never had a drink (by drink, I mean alcoholic drink), extra respect to you sir. You're winner. You have the Superironic stamp of approval. Unfortunately I have given into drinking, I used to be anti-alcohol for a matter of fact. One time, I was at a gathering, OJ and Vodka, drunk off my face from just drinking that one drink. Ever since then, dam you alcohol. I used to have a record, of not vomiting, kept it for a few years, but when I was introduced to alcohol... dam you alcohol.

If you do drink, I love you as well. If I met you at a party, and we were both drinking, we would get up to or sorts of things. Such as blogging on GS. No, only I am stupid enough to do that. But seriously, whether you are a drinker or not, I love you all. Superironic stamp of approval to all my GS friends. Of course guys, it is all fun and games until you get modded. But hey, if you are a fun drunk like me, the mods won't mind. In fact they may drink as well and start going on a modding spree. But hey mods, it is all fun and games until you mod half of the GS users. Hahahaha, what am I talking about?

Oh wow, I have typed quite a bit, unfortunately I am not going to spellcheck it. That red line, you know what I am talkin about guys. Hahaha why isn't anyone laughing. Please disregard this paragraph, it makes no sense....

As I was saying, OT is awesome. I rarely post in OT but It is great for a read. I am a bit of a lurker so everything is great for a read. But what is better than the OT, the CDU of course. I will never stop posting in the CDU. If there was no forums on GS, and only the CDU, I would go to GS exclusively for the CDU. And the blogs of course. This is the only website I blog on and I appreciate every comment I recieve. I try to make an effort to keep track of blogs and comment on them but I do tend to get busy during the year. I hate it when I am busy.

Well, I think I will end this blog here. I will most probably regret this blog in the morning, and hope this is the last drunken blog I will make. But you never know when you see the last of drunken SI muahahahaha! Seriously though, this morning is going to suck when it comes.

Gamespot Glitch #293378: White Page Glitch

I am sure all of you know about this by now. :P Pretty much if you post in a union it will bring you to a blank page pretty much forcing you to return back to the union manually. Once there, the thread will register your post as a new post and in cases will register that you haven't even posted in the thread at all. Double and triple posting has been known to occur as well. Oh and I haven't been able to post any union updates as I found out the other day.

While some people are leaving Gamespot because of this glitch... I, for one, will not. To be perfectly honest, it isn't THAT bad of a glitch. It is an unusual glitch and a bit of a pain I must admit, but there have been far worse glitches I have experienced on Gamespot. The worst was when I would enter the union board and it would refuse to show any of the threads. I could refresh the page 20 times and no threads would appear. I did get lucky a few times, but very rarely when the glitch was active. When the threads did appear and I clicked on a topic, I would sometimes be unlucky and (no joke) none of the posts within the thread would appear. So I would be refreshing like mad within the thread and most of the time just give up after 30 or so refreshes. Now that was a terrible glitch, one that I only seemed to have for some reason  Probably the second worst was when Gamespot would log me out pretty much every second page I clicked on.

What I am annoyed about is the support for the fix. I can't help but wonder if the technical support is actually doing much (if anything) to fix the glitch? It has been going on for quite some time and users have decided to take a break from Gamespot which is odd that this glitch hasn't been fixed already. Even if it is a real major glitch that may take awhile to fix, the team working on it should have at least notified users on their progress. At least give us something, some closure that this is being taken care of? But that is obviously too much to ask from Gamespot.

Anyway that is the end of my mini rant. :P This is my last week of holidays and have enjoyed every minute of it. :) I am excited for uni, but at the same time nervous. I am excited for the fact that I am going straight into my degree cIasses which will be more interesting. Last year I had quite a few BS cIasses that I don't think I will ever find useful, but I had to do them anyway as it was part of my course. I am nervous though because I do know I have a rough road ahead of me, they may be more interesting but they will be challenging. Also I am doing 2 major degrees, they are Computer Science and Games Programming for anyone who is curious. :) And of course, I am disappointed my holiday is coming to an end. But it has to end sometime. :P

Also I uploaded 3 new videos on YouTube, they actually have been uploaded for ages. I have been meaning to promote them on my blog but somehow always slips my mind. They are a continuation of my Sonic Tweaked videos which were shown during my Lost Videos series of blogs:

Sonic Tweaked Part 3
Sonic Tweaked Part 4
Sonic Tweaked Part 5

So yeah, enjoy. :) If not then I can't blame you, apart from a semi-decent walkthrough with the Sonic Adventure soundtrack in the background, there isn't much to the videos.
